  • That Grey 4 platform... thing... xD looks like it could be, if you made it bigger and added some craters and cannons it could be a level in itsself :D

  • How do I convert my Sketchup file to an OBJ file?

  • how can i make maroi 64 levels into sketch up model files?

  • How to get a wavefront obj in supermario??? i use blender and i can make wavefront obj files, but i cant import in supermario

  • When I try to Import the level in the Mario 64 Level Importer v11, a message comes up that says: "No faces or vertices to process in .obj file. If you are sure your .obj file is valid, please try rewriting it on a different 3D modeller."

Why is it saying that? And btw, I made the level in Google Sketchup 7...

  • @lightspeed97 It's just whay it says, your file probably isn't a Wavefront .obj file. Most likely you didn't exported it properly.

  • @frauber I'm sorry if this is gonna take up your time, but how do I export it to an a Wavefront .obj file?

  • @lightspeed97 Just use the obj exporter plugin available at the level importer page. Also, read the whole page before asking any more questions.

  • @frauber Okay, thanks :D But now when I start my level I fall right through it... On toadstool it shows that there is no collision.

  • 1. If you don't choose textures, what does it look like?

    2. I need someone to import my OBJ file for me. I cannot because I am incompetent.

  • Download the latest version, which includes a GUI interface.

  • ROM crashes when I do anything to it, including stuff like this. I'll try to check what version ROM I need to have first or something.

  • Check my last videos for much newer versions of this tool.

  • 1. The model will have random colours.

  • It will get a green grass texture I think.

  • When can we expect to see some more complex maps being made?

  • i am amazed. good job. whn are u going to upload a picture of yourself?

  • now that it supports materials, can it still use textures from the game?

  • Easiest way to do it is to export the textures using Toad's Tool 64 and use them in your .obj files.

  • could i just use the old version of the exporter whenever i want to use textures from the game?

  • now that it supports matirials, can it stiff use textures from the game?

  • Can you stop being awsome, or have you tried and found it impossible?

  • Another awesome job!

Btw, is there way to import obj.'s to Google SketchUp? I'm trying something out.

  • AWESOME

  • it looks really god! But0:31 there is aBug. You can see sth, whant you wont see^^

  • That's a bug/limitation of the game.

  • How do you convert .skp to .obj?

  • you need google sketch up pro or you install a Rubyscript. Google can help you^^

  • Google SketchUp Pro .Obj importer is sort of buggy. I'll provide a Ruby script along with my importer tool.

  • Awesome!

Now I can use my unfinished SketchUp city in Mario 64.

  • Awesome! Now you just need to find a way to keep the camera from going through things!

  • nice work

  • With this, if you can actually program software to import everything to a desired level and have collision applying, you can actually have Super Mario 64: The Missing Stars 2, or at least give it a new title.

  • moon jump messed up a little?

    it happened to me too

  • Do you have any plans for adding an object bank swapper? It would be nice to be able to easily use another set of objects for the custom levels.

  • Not my priority because that would require plenty of additional programming. I am also concerned about RAM issues, I'll see if VL-Tone can release an intermediate version of Toad's Tool 64 supporting my extended memory patch.

  • Coincidently, I just got my hands on Lemmy's 3D model ripper plugin, and worked out how to convert to obj. *Is looking forward to this*

  • Yeah, I'm using it mostly to rip textures from other games. What program are you using to convert VRML to .obj ?

  • Im using the latest version of blender, it comes ready with scripts for importing VRML.

At the moment though, im converting them to DirectX fromat so i can use them to make an fps. I Finally just finished getting the first level of bomberman 64 fully set up :D.

  • Blender is way too slow on my old computer, but Meshlab seems to do the job just fine.

Unfortunately, importing .obj files from other games doesn't work very well, the best use for the importer right now is to make simple new levels.

  • I'm actually kind of in the mood to get back into SM64 hacking, i've done alot since i stopped. Mostly brawl hacking and other random rom stuff (SMW, SMK, etc). I know a fair bit about hex now, too, which will help alot.

I'm going to make a new account on the sm64 hacking forums with my name "Skelux", so note that im actually Celux.

  • Ah shit... I went and got myself auto-banned for using an alternate account :P. Just sent an e-mail.

  • its a demonstration

  • Dude, its a test.

  • this is amazing, you my friend are one smart person

  • awesome

  • How many polygons can it handle?

This might get me back into rom hacking.

Turning Reimu's ass into a level might be fun!

  • @Lishy1 Reimu from Touhou?

  • Yup.

    Touhou fans are hardcore.

  • You gonna make it as hard as a Touhou game?

  • Nah

Players will get stuck in her asshole

  • Haha, that would he awesome.

  • That's awesome, poor of the one than press thumb down on polyteredfasha's comment again >:(

  • I don't get what you are saying.

  • The awesome the idea of a hard difficulty hack was aweome >_>...

  • Not sure, but it worked fine with 3000+ triangles objects.

  • Wow, very neat.

  • Yet again, awesome job, Frauber!

  • Huzzah! Will it support automatically assigning the grass texture and texture coordinates if there are none?

  • You probably commented before the description :). It loads external texture files (some textures show in the video are from Paper Mario) from the .mtl file.
