I liked the content of the video, and the editing / transitions. When I say content, I mean the useful stuff about flooring, measuring, cutting, spacers.
If I didn't watch this video, I would have screwed up my entire flooring. The Lowes how-to videos don't say anything about measurements and checking from the center line. I just installed laminate in a 1700 square foot living room and it came out perfect thanks to this guys info about making a grid from the center of the room.

@red666A Without seeing the job your working on, i can't tell you if the flooring needs to be removed or not. But sometimes it is necessary to start over. Sorry.
Man, this was great! I laughed my ass off. You do a fantastic job, man. Good to see someone who does a meticulous job, and has a good time doing it. Cheers!
Well bro!! if 10 years of experience counts for anything and owning an Installation Company that installs thousands of sq ft a year??? i think i may know just ALIL about it!!!
Well hot shot since you're such a guru why don't you post your own video instead of criticizing someone else work? At least this guy posted his work. What say you?
Well Sir! I havnt posted any videos for the simple reason, that I don't have a good quality recorder! And I dont see the need to go purchase one just to prove myself to some random screename on the internet!!!! LOL
Gee whiz, you being a floor guru and all I figure you must make all kinds of money. Enough to buy a descent camera anyway so you can make a video to back up your own hype. We are all waiting? :)
Read a book at your local library dude. Sorry, but your pc and this site is more for entertainment, than information. I bet you would love to see some dudes in drag, huh?
i dont know why, but i had to watch this 2 times. he knows his shit, and he made me laugh out ;loud a few times. ive worked for some real assholes, but i think he'd be fun to work for.. could have passed on the dancing tho
Thanks for watchin'. I'm glad i could make you smile as well as maybe givin' you some tips. Hope you come back and watch some more. Oh, and don't worry, dancin' is not a requirement when hire someone:-)
I can't actually bring myself to finish watching this video. This guy is a moron and he really scares me. His unprofessionalism makes me not want to take any advice from him.
i did not get the reply. its fine if you want to break them down, one every so often. thanks for your time, YOU ARE MY FAVORITE CHOPPEROO!!!!!!!!!! :):):):)
When it comes to leveleing, in the ideal world, you want zero clearance. BUt i had over a 1/2" dip in spots. I would say 1/4" is too much. Use the longest 2 x 4 you can get. Make sure it's straight. Lay it down on the floor and look for gaps where the floor dips. Mark those spots. pour the leveler and drag the 2x4 over it. Note the leveler dries quick. If the the gap is around 1/8" just double up that area with your vapor barrier or felt paper.
hey BC, just how level is level for this flooring, [like your uneven cement floor]? i've been told everything between 1/8" and 1/4" [to no difference at all, no height change]on the height from one floor in one room to the next one? does this stuff need a moisture barrier on concrete floor? do you need to femove broken vinyl tiles nefore installing this floor? how about a floor leveling vid? [like in this vid] you are my fav.
Yes it is. It's also crosses over to a old wooden subfloor too. I had to use a leveling compound on it to get the low spots out on the concrete areas.
what kind of flooring is this? Like what brand? It looks like build direct Lamton, but i wasn't sure.

yup. without a (usually) foam layer underneath, the floor will make a noise when you walk on it & conserve less heat.

I had one flooring guy tell me he used roofing shingles cause they didn't break down or compress over the years. (just in smaller areas)
Yes, you need a vapor barrier, however the laminate i used had it on there already. Some cheaper lamiantes don't.

Chad ..How much is a fair price to pay for an installation? per square foot. I will supply all material.
Kelsita22 3 years ago
It depends on where you live, but a safe average is $2.50 -$3.00 a sq. ft. Make sure they lay the quater round when complete.

Yes it is. It's also crosses over to a old wooden subfloor too. I had to use a leveling compound on it to get the low spots out on the concrete areas.
