@rrojocobra - Well, I get what you're saying, but it was the British who invented the idea of a sports car and the British TVR's from the '90's don't have any luxury and pretty much beat everything they came up against in terms of speed. They used to beat all the Ferrari's and Lambos.

Noble is another British sports car that doesn't have any luxury. Me, I'm going to buy a TVR and glue some walnut cappings on the dashboard to give a bit of style and a sense of crafsmanship : )

@AudiABTr8 yes and no, No because its a front engine mounted v12, therefore you have to limit the power because the displacement isnt well balanced as it would be in a midd engine RWD, if you floor it, the front is much heavier and can sometimes easily result in a spin out, the same goes for porsches who's engines are in the back especially in tight turns

Nah, they are just not interested in "getting as much as possible out of the engine", they are just interested in pleasing their customer base.

Noone wants 900+ hp in a car they use every day, that's lethal.

Furthermore, while you might get as much kW from a smaller engine if you wanted to, there are still advantages with a larger engine - things like the low rev torque and of course the engine sound.

You are then also able to brag that you own a car with a 6L V12. :)

@AudiABTr8 Aston Martin did fine with the engine. It’s optimized for a flat torque curve, which suits the 1,8 tons heavy car just fine. But Aston Martin could have made the whole car better if a working automatic or an all manual gearbox had been given to it and if it had been built lighter.
