Tito wanted to have a contract for the fight so Dana couldn't sue him if Tito actually hurt him or something and because it was going to be aired on Spike. Anyways, Dana did not want a contract for some reason and Tito told Dana at least a week before the show actually aired that he wasn't going to fight without a contract. So instead of just cancelling the show they decided to build it up even though they knew the fight was not going to happen.

Continued-So when you heard them say on the show that Tito pulled out of the fight just a few hours before it happened it was totally wrong. I think all Dana wanted to do was make Tito look bad to everyone else. If you really wanted to see exactly what happened look somewhere like on Sherdog or something to find an interveiw with Tito Ortiz regarding the "bad blood."
