passing sucks in this game. everytime we go on a fastbreak, and im going to pass for an open man, he keeps going to crowded place so the pass always get intercepted. sometimes i feel im not in control of the game at all coz the ball goes to somewhere else unexpected. THAT SUCKS!

@rolandroiroi Same here, about 30 seconds ago i was literally about to throw my xbox out the fucking window. I start the first half 22 points 6 rebounds 9 assists 3 steals and ONE turnover working for my first triple double. In the 2nd half I had 10 turnovers, 1-8 shooting 1 assist and 0 rebounds and Chicago somehow went on a 28-5 run and beat us by 30 points. Its like the game just changes like that and all of a sudden your averaging 5 turnovers a QUARTER and the other team makes every shot wtf

Its like real life. Make sure there is a passing lane and dont be afraid to take a dribble to shorten the distance when swinging the basketball. My HS team ran a motion offense, so coach stressed that.

@spiderman4677: thats too true. my problem exactly. i play alot of FIFA and you can control passes because the buttons are pressure sensitive. this is my biggest problem with nba 2k11. the passing. you can't choose between a bounce pass when its needed, or a chest pass. it just decides what pass it will be. thats stupid. i played nba 2k10 on all star and was very decent. i put in 2k11 and struggled on pro difficulty at first so i scratched my head and watched this video. it does help so thanks

Great video, great game but regardless the passing is still flawed. Reason being is it's lacking two major components.

1. You can't control the type of pass (bounce,lob,or bullet)

2. you can't control the power or speed of your pass

Anybody that plays basketball would know these are part of the game. So why is it after a decade we are still depending on icon passing as the primary input for passing? Why hasn't it evolved? Why are most hardcore fans content with this lack of innovation?

I feel like I am actually playing a realistic style basketball game, where running plays, making smart passing and shooting decisions are a part of the game. For someone who knows basketballs in and outs, its stepping into a perfect simulation game.

are you trying to do a flashy pass in a fast break or from a p&roll? if u r trying it just to pass it to another player he will not do his thing..but if you do it while in an open break or plays from PG he often do it..depends on how the receiver reacts on the play...

Realistic or not, I want to be able to pickup a basketball game and have fun with it. All this BS about passing and pressure makes the game completely unenjoyable. Around a month of having it, I still haven't mastered the passing, my point guard is guaranteed to have at least 4 turnovers. And im just simply trying to make an entry pass, when Troy Polamalu comes from outta nowhere to intercept my pass. if i want interceptions i'll play madden. Just give me a solid experience like last years game.

I still think theres a lot of dumb stuff in the game and its more flawed then people think, i mean i literally made a pass to Luol Deng and he just let it bounce off of his head 2X to the defenders hands. on my personal exp.. im on the all-star weekend right now.. rockin 44-10 standin wd GS Warriors..I noticed it in Hall of Fame level, wen u are beating down the PC opponent and they want to catch up... the game itself is adjusting the AI.. sometimes my team mates becomes more stupid to the point that they cant catch a ball from a 90% passer... cant finish an open break and open dunks from pck&rolls... and i can surely tell if i made a basket? they will call a time out. I can read their behavior.

Personally, I think I realize now that we were SPOILED by the easy passing from previous NBA 2K games...but that said, there are instances when I've felt that the game is just plain -unfair-. Well, get used to having dozens of turnovers per game, lol.

I don't think people really have problems with passes being intercepted... I think the problem really is that there is no control over passing. There is one pass. You have about 20 different types of shots and shot changes.  It doesn't make any sense that you don't have a bullet pass, lob pass(incase a defender is in between.) There has to be something besides the slow floating pass. Pass leading is cool but still there should be a way to throw a more intense pass. What do you guys think?

I love all the steals in the passing lanes! You have to be smart with passing. Real life NBA games, players don't just throw the ball in traffic. Icon Passing is a must.

Second - a 51 pass rating should be able to make a clear lane 8 feet pass back to the point guard - what the hell is that?

2k11 passing & defense is garbage - kills the game flow. Every teamup game is a turnover fest

The last comment is the most damning thing about NBA 2k11. This isn't about passing lanes or micromanaging your teammates (which you shouldn't have to do). This is about your off-ball player AI being awful. At the end, though, he reminds us to play basketball. That's what I decided to do. I decided to sell the game and spend that time on actual basketball where the human AI is more realistic.

this is complete crap - the cpu completes 99% of it's passes - even cross court passes into traffic. if you try to do this, it's intercepted every time. this game needs a patch badly.

I got a question, why do you guys trust 2K/VC's SLIDER SETTINGS????

When at OS I am sure they got great minds there that can come up with

way better sliders FOR EVERY DIFFICULTY.

So why just play the game at DEFAULT with 2K's DEFAULT Sliders???, from my experience I know for a fact developers added sliders to games so the players

can make their own game and they won't have to hear bad comments on their game, with the sliders you can make your own 2K11.
