Think closer to New Wave of British Heavy Metal (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden) than Death Metal (Opeth). Metal doesn't require screamed/growled vocals and double bass drum rhythmic figures to be categorized as such. But who care, these types of classifications are all arbitrary and somewhat pointless anyway.

The song is about a pagan concept of the passage of time(the wheel) and the seasons. It particularly takes place at Samhain, the third harvest and the time of death, on October 31.
