  • Yeah well, I dont see the other song of John Lennon's that was also "not released" to the public. Why dont you do the other one, "Pop is the name of the game." then get back with me

  • I'm confused...is this jun626 and frenchytouch doing the editing or mixing in to the demos their own play?

  • You guys are great. Very well done. Keep up the good work.

  • Wow, this is masterfully done guys. Great damn job! I've never heard a demo completed so creatively. It matches the demo perfectly. It captures the humanity and emotion of Lennon's demo. So beautiful...

  • lovely, totally agree with everyonme else, well done bringing it alive man!

  • @Gyphia needles and pins is what i hear too. but this is original just a coincidence...

  • LOVE this! Its still not to late for Paul and Ringo to finish some more John demos and start working on some George demos.

  • type the song name into youtube and there are clearer versions of his voice.

  • Good job.

  • Ja YEAH MAN!! Nice Nice!!1

  • I love this song!

  • very gooooood

    100+ n_n

  • This is pretty neat! Good work.

  • great effort and though most will condemn me for my opinion am sure,,,,, saved my soul was never ment to sound this way it was ment to be a bit tongue and cheek great job though

  • I really like this one ;)

     great job guys !!

  • Sounds pretty sketchy, but i'm sure you did your best. The playing and singing is very good, but the demo is just so rough, it must have been really hard to work with. I love the song itself, it's a better one than either that they released in my opinion.

Great work really, and I appreciate your efforts.

  • Very good, it's got the beatles sound for sure

  • Yeah; thats the idea; nice song; that made my day...

  • great work...

  • I can't stop listening to this great song!

  • I love john at 1:33

  • Needles and pinsza...!

  • that's what i said about a year ago. and i still stand by it. needles and all :))

  • Where'd u get that pic of John at 0:45?

  • This is pure!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fucking Rocking! mind my language.

  • Very Good Job..

  • Thank you gaius476!

  • I think you overdid it a bit on the noise reduction. In my opinion the artifacts actually added to Real Love, but here they are so strong as to be overwhelming. That said, I think it's pretty cool what you are doing. Keep it up! :)

  • I didn't wanna say it again but John Lennon is a genius

  • Im really enjoying the songs, its like listling to a new Beatle record.

  • @squid30 This song has the same chord progression tha tthe early beatles song where have you been all my life, if you want to know how this song would have sound just take a look here in youtube to the Alexander song preformed by The Beatles "where have you been all my life", fact!

  • You guys are really good. Keep up the good work Virtual Beatles! :D

  • my fav of all your vids

    nicely done

  • Why is the tempo so sloppy? Is that cause of Johns original? And why is the sound so low quality mp3 ish? Is that cause of youtube?

Other than that I love it...

  • Mr. Lennon recorded his demos on a crude 1970's style cassette recorder, hence the quality and this was never officially released-its one of about 14 demos that Lennon had in the can for his comeback in 1980. These guys did a terrific job bringing this alive...

  • It sounds much like "Neddles and Pins" by Smokie?

Did Smokie a cover of "You saved my soul"!?!?

  • Fantatic song from John & and well documented & created gaius476....5*s

  • Thanks, Gary !! Love this !! Peace/Love

  • Great song, I love it. Thanks for posting this 5*****'s.

  • Thanks, Dixie, for sharing this. What a wonderful song & love the photos !! Peace/Love

  • You'e welcome squyres, glad you liked it.

  • Amazing Song!!! 5*s I enoyed this one very much! Thanks Gary & gaius476...Anita

  • What's wrong with the drum track? It's very untight. With a proper drumtrack this might work.

  • this is brilliant thank you *****

  • Great job guys....this was recorded by Lennon on November 15,1980...just a few weeks before his death!! Good stuff!!!

  • Amazing re-creation of one Beatle music. I can´t help but listen it more than ten times along the day!! Congratulations to the excellent and loveable work done by The Virtual Beatles!!

  • Very beautiful song, guys.

  • Yah, i thought he just took some lyrics out of the chuck berry tune? It was settled when lennon told him he would do covers of his songs on his Rock'n roll album. Or something like that anyways.

  • no it was not just the lyrics....actually it was the melody

  • I could be wrong but I think that Lennon was sued for using the phrase 'flat-top' in Come Together. The Chuck Berry song it was borrowed from was owned by a guy/publishing company that wanted Lennon to record an album of rock n roll songs that he/they also owned. This would ensure that he/they (still with me) would get a shed load of dough in song writers royalties. I know that's a bit vague but I can't remember exact names!

  • Johnny, a genius

  • This song brought tears to my eyes My god you huys did a great Job. This song really took the cake I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!. Really captures the beauty of John at his best.

  • good work!

  • YES!

  • Love it...Another great effort- all these unreleased Lennon demos really come alive with al these folks adding instruments- There are about 14 of them that I have found- makes a nice virtual Lennon album

  • wow, this song is amazing! is he applying to Cyn or Yoko? could you post the lyrics? thnx!

  • well done, its sound smoothly.

    great job!!!

  • Where did this come from? Post Beatles?

  • LIsten to all of it....sounds ALOT like the old rock tune "stand by me"

  • right, except for the chords, melody, phrasing, feel and lyrics, it's nearly identical.

  • you know that there was a HUGE out of court settlement over John Lennon's "come together". He lifted nearly the entire song from an old chick berry tune.

  • Well done Lads!! John would have loved this!

  • why did he have to kill not just a beatle, but the best fucking one at that. RIP john your missed

  • also, more than a hint of Marc Bolan/T-Rex... you know what i'm talkin' about!!! :))

  • sounds a bit like Needles and Pins by the Dave Clark 5... just a bit, listen.

  • 'Needles & Pins' was not by The Dave Clark Five, Rawego. Leave the internet now and come back when you've learned how to research your facts before you post comments.

  • ya wohl mein commandant!

  • oh yeahh..!!

    it's amazing!!

    ;)))

  • great work and great pleasure!!!

  • Lennon is fucking Awesome!

  • awsome! ^^

  • You hope we like? I loved it! I'm sure everyone else will too. I sure miss that man and his music.

  • Thanks for commenting on this, isn't it just awesome??!!

  • Hey Tim thank you for this share it is awesome ;-)

  • First time I've heard this. Well done.

  • I really loved this, though I couldn't hear or understand all the lyrics(which you explained why) it still felt good to listen too. I could understand some things and well when you are a music lover, you just understand the musicality of it, the sound and flow, you feel that too. Those were the loveliest photos of John. Alot of them I've never seen, and thankyou so much for posting this. And thanks Beatleologist for sending it to me

  • This is the first time ive heard this. I usually dont listen to other peoples takes on songs, but you guys really did a special job. Congrads!

  • and what are the chords? i swear im in love with this song lol

  • The chords are A, F#m, D, E

    Chuck

  • I forgot, there is an F chord toward the end. You'll find where it fits. :)

    Chuck

  • The last chord is A6. Strings 1-4 barred at the 2nd fret.

    Chuck

  • this is amazing you guys make me very happy

would u be willing to give a fan a mp3 version of this?

  • Faydajova made a great point! Mucho mungo by John should be done first class! There are two or three demo takes maybe editing the best pieces of each one would help--- there is the Nilsson version to listen to for context----but it could be great---anyway wheres are next tune ?------The weekend is here and we are without aany new ones!---I love the ending on this Saved my soul! The vocals the little turnaround ending! very nice!--intro was pretty good too---come to think of solos good too MORE

  • Everything sounds great, and I can't wait to hear more stuff. Maybe these John demos might be worthy of editing too: Gone From This Place (Take 1,4), Whatever Happened To..., When A Boy Meets A Girl, My Life, Child of Nature, Mucho Mungo, Help Me To Help Myself, Baby Make Love To You, Serve Yourself, and One Of The Boys (Take 1 w/ light flanger). George Harrison's Window, Window (part of the Get Back Sessions). Well, just thought I'd throw those out there. Keep up the good work :)

  • Did you bring the vocal up a bit ? it sounds better at a moderate volume-when I turn it up I lose the vocal a bit--very perplexing--hard to make this vocal of Lennons sit right--great job though superb--I still wonder if Johns voice should be brought up one DB--its pretty close--do a John song that was recorded better like India or one of the boys-or friend of Dorothys those are a gas!--great job! Great!--Harrison has six songs never done from-ATMP nowhere to go?-do you know what to do-come on!

  • Now Am I losing my mind or did you upload this again with the vocal brought up in the mix? I think you brought the vocal up a bit it sounds better today--great job on this--I know when you bring the vocal up it masks your nice track a little--but you gottta have Johns vocal clear-at least as much as possible--I'm listening at a lower volume today but I'd swear you brought up the vocal!--now wheres the next one! come on come on! lets have another one right now!--did you bring vocal up ?

  • Well done, Well done. I loved the way you approached this song with the Beatles late 50s/ early 60s style which as you say, isn't really a typical Lennon solo. Just see if there is a way to sort out John's voice somehow. But otherwise great work as usual!

  • Yeah guys---Johns vocal is a little shy level wise---I know its tricky--especially the first one minute or so----just a couple dbs in level or maybe eq--very good--you have a lost john Lennon-Beatle record--if you can just strenghthen his vocal a bit---I'd say it might just be as simple as pulling up his level about two to three db,s or it could be EQ--whatever very good--you made my day---But its a little shy on his voice especially the first one minute---biy great work just fantastic!
