@yojacoby well ironicly Ernest uses Reason 4.0. and after you make your beats you can export the song to wav file. you whe export it it asks you the sample rate. lower to 11k and there you go!

Ok...if there are any production nerds out there, I need your help.

How is this overall sound achieved? Is it compression or some kind of analog plugin? Or is it a million things tweaked on each track to get this grainy, distant copy of a copy cassette tape effect? Does anybody have a clue how he does this to EVERY track??

I have heard of transferring your songs to vcr with the rca cables and then transferring them back to the computer for an old school analog sound?

I've been trying to figure it out also! But I think ultimately its the analog gear they use to record. Maybe analog recorders where they transfer the tape over and over and a few tweaks in the limiter during mastering before. I dont know but If anyone finds out let me know too.

@yojacoby what i learned is that all you have to do is record your song. then get a program that lowers the sampling rate. the lower you sample it. the lower quality it is. I tried it and got this exact sound.
