All she is describing is culture. Would anyone expect an Indian man born and raised in north america by 4th generation American parents to be obsorbed in the culture from the town his great great grandparents grew up? Her thoughts on her experiences are rational.
i feel the same way i live in a small town with very few black people and i never really fit in with the other black people mainly because they act like because your black you got to act a certain way and that annoys me. most black people dont understand that we can act how we want listen to any music we want and were not trying to act white were just being ourselves and not someone else.
I think we have the same brain. I say that because I'm black and I never really hung out with just black people (I tried and it was just a little weird). And all of my friends (who are most hispanic or other) always gave me that speech of how I'm really cool for a black girl (and I'm dark skinned btw) and how I'm not "ghetto" in way. And with black people that I knew they said I seem to act/talk "white" and they thought it was true because i had really long hair "for a dark-skinned black girl"
You should be proud and happy that you dont fit in with stereotypical American blacks..only monkeys would. Dont listen to the haters, theyre just blacks with inferiority complexes who are conceited about the value of their skin colour and ghetto culture.
I like a black woman who will listen to good classical music, act decently EVERYWHERE, never be loud and abbrasive in public and so on..and who can pronounce "ask"...imo you are in high demand out there!
No offence, but you are the stereotypical black person I can't stand! Trying to get validation from other cultures for shitting on your own! I used to think like you until I researched who is really a cancer to the black community. That is people like YOU!
@lilcoco770007 #1) How is this video trying to get validation from other cultures? I've been acting however I want to act since I rolled out of the womb lol #2) I HAVE ISSUES TOO but If you actually knew me you would know I care about the well being of other people and some of the behaviors I see in stereotypical black people are harmful to them more than anyone else #3) What I do does not affect the whole "black community" I am an individual
@lilcoco770007 So her speaking openly about being OBJECTIVE is bad? You are ignorant..get educated and cultured. You talk badly about someone who is trying to understand something PAST color or features. People like you are a PLAGUE..stop trying to demean those who don't act like you. aha im the same way.im a black gurl & i dont like thug guys,I listen to rnb, rock, soul, indie, metal, jpop, ballads, I like musicals & I dont like hostile people...ppl tell me that i act white,or weird,or emo or gothic.Im a lot of things but i dont consider myself any of those things that ppl make me out to be.Im just myself & thats all that matters : 3
@catchfree84 Sorry, I've never called anyone a coon in my life. People can act how they want to act. I hope you actually watched the video instead of just commenting.
I've been called an oreo all my life but I've just realized recently that it's okay. It's one of those things where you have to go against the grain to be true to yourself like being gay or interracial couple or a woman in an oppressive country. I have A LOT of love in my heart and as long as I'm true to myself it's okay ;)
@notcher19 I am southern for your information. Watch some of my other videos and then you can properly judge me. Plus, how do you look ghetto? You couldn't even see my whole body.
i love black folks like her! you can tell she's educated on a basis of actually going beyond a stereotype i realize not all black folks are ignorant, but where i live ehh it's kinda hard dealing with "some" however like i said she's got a free thinking minded mentality not being bounded by barriers of colors...smart girl and a beauty ;D
Great video! Shows that it's OK to be DIFFERENT from a 'stereotypical Black person' and it's GREAT to be YOURSELF! And I must say you look beautiful and have a great personality...Consider yourself subbed!
This is funny, I can see what you mean. I'm not like that too and black people think I have this notion that I am better than other black people. I went through hell in highschool, one thing why post this on Youtube. We are the only race who has so many videos bashing and picking apart our own race. It's sort of sad :*( Every video embarrasses me.
@brittanyverjes1 Yea, it definitely doesn't mean I think I'm better and I talk about a lot of stuff on youtube. I really wasn't trying to bash my own race.
This is funny, I can see what you mean. I'm not like that too and black people think I have this notion that I am better than other black people. I like how u listen to all kinds of music instead of just stickin only with
a certain type bc other people kinda expect you too.. also agree with the shit about
guys disrespecting woman.. deffinetly a turn off for me too. Their actually
lettin the girl know thats all their after by doin that, which is stupid on their part, but atleast the girl would know that before hand :) what kinda girl would want a guy like that? Crazy.
I think stereotypes are our own creation. I don't think there's anything called acting 'black' or acting 'white' or whatever. A way of life is a way of life, no matter who you are, as long as you are being yourself.
We have a lot in common. I feel that since my early 20's, I started traveling the world, broadening my horizons, learn different languages, listening to different music, etc. But I feel that the experience in my life kind of made me different from people I meet, especially women. But when people meet me they kind of stereotype me and want me to fit a certain role, but that is not me. I just hope one day I can meet somebody that can appreciate what I bring. I have a lot to give.
A female friend who hates these videos as demeaning to blacks, pointed out that they are ironically usually made by dark skinned black women. My friend, who looks middle eastern but Identifies herself as black feels as I do, that many darker skinned are manifesting an inferiority complex that causes them to disassociate themselves from anything related to blackness. Anyone who has traveled in circles that included educated and sophisticated blacks could not hold their stereotypical views.
I agree with you. I find it heartbreaking that many black people actually perpetuate these negative stereotypes and it's due to a lack of knowledge in our history. If they KNEW, how the system was set up to pin us against each other or how stereotypes were used to segregate/ dehumanize us, then they'd be more apt to breaking these stereotypes instead of fueling them. Many black people use these stereotypes as a way of solidifying their "blackness" when in fact it only solidifies ignorance. Sad
Im a black man and I think that black men have done so much over the years to upset black women- like not taking care of our children, making them feel like they are not good enuff for us by dating white women, acting like thugs and going to prison. Not trying to better our communities by gaining a higher education...But this is one black man that wants to say that I am sorry to all of you beautiful black queens out there...some of us really let you down.
Yeah, I am the same way. Why do people think black people are a monolithic group of people? I have no involvement nor do I care about the "black community". I have never lived in or near a "black community", so I have no identity with most black americans. I am a nerdy computer programmer who was bullied harshly by those "ghetto blacks". I hate rap music and people say I "act white". Funny, those same people are working in fast food or have a bunch of kids by "thugs" lol. Marvelous video ma'am.
@Spartan7735 You sir, are pathetic and obviously beyond redemption. You are a "nerdy computer programmer" ...which tells me that you are most likely a LOW-PAID flunky for some company and are too clueless to realize just how LOW on the totem-pole you actually are. (Perhaps I'll hire you to do some coding for me ...and make even MORE millions from your efforts). Real BM like me are FAR beyond YOU ...AND most whites yet ..WE don't need to try as hard as YOU to be something we are not!
@iiidol Wow, how do you know that's not who he is? Didn't you hear him say he didn't grow up near a lot of other blacks?!! I get annoyed with people trying to be "The Black Police"! It is not your job to tell people how they should act and what should define their blackness. He is doing something positive with his life and you're sitting up here trashing him...
I've really been judged for my skin, but i've been judged for how i dress.I don't really fit in either, but ohwell haha.I think you're an awesome person and don't let the haters get you done :)
@MySmile012 You're gorgeous! I'm white and I live in the UK but I'm not English so I feel this. People of all races assume you must conform to a stereotype that you just don't. Much love from the UK!
i agree with everything that you say. i listen to all kinds of music. most black people are very closed minded when it comes to music. also the movies you watch too.
I sooo agree. Black women have rejected my friendship due to me not having an attitude or being ghetto like them. Black men have rejected me because of the same reasons or they think I'm a weirdo for liking different things. I'm a cartoonist; I watch anime, am a hardcore gamer, and I have a childlike spirit. Black people in my eyes got too many issues and always want to criticize someone that is different.
I can relate. I'm a black man and I've never fit the stereotypes either and have found myself being judged for it all my life (mainly by other black people) who seem to feel threatened by anything different. My taste in music and the way I talk has been what people like this find the most objectionable. Every time someone accuses me of sounding or acting "white" for speaking properly, I want to strangle a kitten. BTW, you are stunning.
@inphanta Thanks! lol at strangle a kitten. Please, don't do it! I understand what you mean. I don't speak properly all the time (I'm country lol) but I mainly get it because of the things I like and the way I act (kind of reserved sometimes..but still with a sense of humor)..I admit, some things about me are "typical". I don't like when people touch my hair, I get a "black girl attitude" every once in a while, & I can be a little feisty but I don't fit the mold all the way! lol I'm sweet :-)
Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
The Most High said that loved Jacob and HATED Esau is the forefather of all white people. That seed is roaming the earth in a disgusting body. Also remember he said that the Earth was given into the hands of the wicked! Now ask yourself who is ruling the earth? Who oppresses nations and robs them? Remember, Christ was tempted by Satan and he said that you can have all the earth because it's in my hands!
These are disgusting NIGGER WHORE's for sure to come on the internet and promote this interracial dating which the LORD hates! The white man has but a short period of time left before his society is destroyed and he is coming out with all the stops. These black bitches are being led by their lust and when this cracker dies they are gonna look real bad going against the black man like this. These crackers they study us in think tanks and plan things against us years in advance
@shaparnapash Smh....if you're going to "diss" her, at least know how to spell, lol. Know the difference between "your" and "you're". You also forgot an apostrophe.
@najmaj What the hell are you correcting me on some damn white mans language slave!!! I suggest you do this find out your own language then you can correct someone but until then you just telling me I'm mwrong on spelling massa's language! And where do you nigger whores get off trying to say anything to a man? You aint supposed to be teaching a man shyt why dont you self proclaimed cum dumps learn how to be submissive instead of running your damn mouth!!!
@shaparnapash This is precisely the type of response I anticipated from you. Generally when people lack intelligence, they have a hard time expressing themselves in a logical manner, so they resort to the lowest form of communication and language that they know (i.e. cursing). All-in-all, I'm glad that you took my advice and paid a bit more attention to your grammar this time around.
your not talking about Black men, your speaking of those who suffers from a niggers mentality! The answers your searching for if your serious, google "The C.O.W.S" & there you'll find every answer to your question! No Bullshit!
my dear! black people come in many diffrent size, shapes, hight, life style & preferance in music, so do white people. have you ever thought that you might just be an attractive BLACK WOMAN! & a HUMANBEING. from your young prespective there are people in africa that would make you think that all white people were accting black. being young is not a crime but, understand your past history & get to know yourself. (europeans had to travel to africa for a university education in the past).
@rikshaw223 I was just saying I don't fit in with stereotypical black people..black people who perpetuate every negative stereotype people have about blacks in the United States. I know that not all black people act this way...there are plenty of different kinds of black people.
@MySmile012. i hear you, i am told that i look like eddy muphy, i'm built like mike tyson & i have a voice that should be on the radio, i'm a qualified electronics engineer & i can spend a whole day talking about jet engines & quantum physics. i have lived in the same area all my life & people that don't know me there sometimes ask me where i'm from. stay strong stay true to yourself :-)
@MySmile012 just the fact that you believe there is a such thing as "stereotypical black people" just proves you feed into white lies and white peoples worthless opinions. you need help. white people don't even look like real people(real people have pigment to their skin) or act like real people(real people have humanity and whites lack humanity).
@najmaj. my point was convayed to the young lady in the video in the best way i could with limited comment space. if you can understand the sentiments of my comments & could do better & are able to educate others like me (a BM), you should refrain from being (patronising) (condisending) (arigant) (ignorant) (self absorbed) & (narcissistic) but, clearly you did'nt understand & can only see errors. are you a black woman, so steriotypical, so negertive, so against me, so sad. :-(
We're totally alike. OMG I use to think something was wrong with me espcially back in HS(mind you I went to a predominately black HOOD HS lol). The kids I went to school with aggravated the hell out of me I couldn't stand how close-minded they were. I love ALL music as well and get clowned on by family members and friends because of it. I hardly listen to TODAY's R&B and and stopped listening to rap a looooong time ago.
Just passing through and saw a beautiful woman who is intelligent, i subbed to see more and i think I've found a fellow human being, keep on being who you are inside, don't let the outside rule you....
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special. Baseball cap on backward, baggy pants. He says something ordinary like, 'yo that's shizzle'. Okay, now slowly open your eyes again. Who you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well shame on you
@midnitedawn no! We love being black, we just don't want to be a negative black stereotype. I never said I didn't like some "Black" music too lol..I'm just saying I like a variety. I get along with a lot of different people but I don't really "fit in"
@MySmile012 i think the difference is that black people on the whole often are self obsessed and think they are gods gift when really many people dont agree with that i mean when you say we love being black its like ok congratulations the words i love beig white would never come out my mouth and im absolutely fine with how i am i wouldnt trade to be black or anything else you only gotta turn on the music channel to see how self obssessed black people are compared to white and i mean about colour
@mattsk89 I was just saying that just because a black person isn't stereotypical, it doesn't mean that they have self hate or wish they weren't black. Nobody constantly reminds you that you're white so of course you wouldn't mention it much. It's a non factor. People will never let me forget I am black so I might as well embrace it lol. In real life I don't go parading around talking about how black I am lmao. I'm just a crayon that is a little darker than most :-)
@MySmile012 i get constantly reminded that im white by the amount of steriotypical black music on tv and the whole culture in england london sucks seriously, i have chosen to just see people as people now and not say black or white, i have no respect for these white girls that dress like whores or any girls that dress like whores and i cant stress that enough i just dont want to see it, but anyway i can find the comment i left so il just say i respect you, peace <3
Not all r&b,hiphop& rap are praising pimps and hoes... I mean i dont listen to rap & hip hop nowadays, but if you listen to 90's music, it has REAL substance. check LL cool J, the Fugees, TLC, en vogue, Busta Rhymes, SWV, etc...
@24Ornella Yes I do listen to a lot of that..I LOVE 90'S MUSIC!!!!..but even some hip hop today isn't all about pimps and hoes...I listen to "black" music, but I also listen to a lot of "white" music too.
@MySmile012 haha ok good.. I guess the ppl that surround you are just ignorant cuz a lot of my friends & I do listen to ''white'' music as they call it (John Mayer, the script, etc.)... but good music is good music!
Your not alone, I feel the exact same way! I just HATE how people really believe and assume that Every Single Black person is a thug, or a hoodrat, those are just the black people that just stand out the most.
You are not alone. I too do not fit in with the stereotype. I consider the rap, hiphop and r'n'b music nowadays as garbage. All it does is praise pimps and drug dealers and downgrade women. I also prefer dressing like a steam or cyberpunk over some of the clothing
you are so ignorant and you say bp are so closedminded when it comes to music (another brain dead bw) when comes to music who invented soul, rnd, jazz, blues, rock, hip hop, reggae etc here it comes black people idiot!!!!!!!!!!!maybe if you was'nt trying so hard to be a white women and get some knowledge of self you'd know.
@326Ka I'm not talking about who invented those..or back in the day! DUH I ALREADY KNEW THAT! I'm talking about black people TODAY. A lot of black people only listen to hip hop and r&b..A lot of them look at me like I'm weird when I know songs that white people made...and I'm not even going to respond to the rest of the bullsh*t you said troll...
Shelly .. you were raised in the Burbs by two normal parents who raised you well it seems. You are trying to fit in with folks who were raised by hood rats or single parents. Don't downgrade yourself lol. Your an exceptional woman period & your parents should be thanked for raising a well adjusted woman. Your normal and you seek something in common from people who aren't normal lol. Your view of the world around you is enlightened. Don't seek the company of people who are going no where in life.
@MichaelPAUSA I had two parents but I moved around a few times as a kid. I have lived everywhere from places where I was the only black kid in the class, to places with no white people in the class. It's the way I was raised that made a difference...no matter who I was around I just acted like myself...and Thank you.
ITS ALL ABOUT WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE NOT WHERE YOU FROM . EVERYONE KNOWS THAT OF COURSE LOL . AS FAR AS IM CONCERN, A HOOD GUY CAN MEAN VARIOUS THINGS . I MEAN DOES A HOOD DUDE REALLY MEAN ANYWAY .? IF A GIRL SAYS I WANT A THUG THAN THATS A WHOLE ANOTHER DIFFERENT DEFINITION . GUYS FROM THE HOOD CAN BE NICE LOL HOOD GUYS CAN BE GENTLEMAN
@ryanr20091 What I mean by a hood dude is a dude with a hood mentality..a dude who I can tell is from the hood as soon as I get to know them. I don't care where someone is from..You can be from the hood and not have a hood mentality.
@MySmile012 there is nothing wrong with a hood mentality :) at the end of the day it's how you use it to get by. being from the hood in brooklyn i have skill sets that go a long way when life gets rough and your down on your luck (not talking robbing/drug dealing). but folks who have had it all handed to them would not be able to survive well with only a little to go around. you would be surprised what you learn in the areas i call home for the time being :) great vid
@PoliticallyEndcorrec That's true..I'm somewhere in between..I'm not from the hood but I definitely have not had everything handed to me. I think you're speaking more of street smarts than a hood mentality
@MySmile012 street smarts is what the hood mentality is built upon. guys who are gang members, violent, or lack logic is not the hood mentality it's the gang/thug lifestyle. lmao i would have to make a video to break it down smfh. the ghetto has so many rules of conduct to live by in order not to be a victim thats it's insane. apologies for assuming you had a silver spoon. your demeanor suggested such a childhood to me by default of your sophistication in these videos.
@PoliticallyEndcorrec lol it's okay..I can act sophisticated without a silver spoon lol. I work at a low paying retail job that I have been at for over a year (until I get my degree and/or find something better) doing work that a lot of people would not choose to do...a lot of these little brats quit within a few weeks. My parents didn't buy me a car..I could go on and on about being part of the struggling middle class but I'll stop. People in the hood aren't the only ones who face challenges
@MySmile012 lol i would rather have your challenges than mine. i mean im in law school and make decent money so i cant complain too much. but having to watch your back just going to the corner store makes for one of a day at times lol
@PoliticallyEndcorrec That's good but..move out of the hood! Save up your money..You probably make way more money than I do! lol..it'll give you some piece of mind to not have to watch your back all the time
@MySmile012 im trying but rent here seems like it's for couples and not single folk anymore lol. me and my partner are not really to that level yet in my opinion of living with each other. monday i walked into the corner store and a teen was in there robbing the place at gun point. i got half way in and the robber told me to get out. i was glad he did that instead of bringing me into the situation. no one was harmed though and he was caught.
@PoliticallyEndcorrec i am glad you and your family made it threw those times. they truly test how strong the bonds between family are. too many times i have households break apart from such trials of life. trust me you do not want to be in the projects. i moved from those years ago and i am glad. lol they pissed in elevators and i have seen to many women having sex in a dirty ass stair case smfh lol.
@PoliticallyEndcorrec I'm not saying that I had it sooo hard but i mean at one point we had 7 people in a small 1 story 3 bedroom...old cars that broke down all the time..for months we didn't even have a car at all...minimal food in the fridge ..just things that make every day life more annoying..but at least we didn't have to worry about survival for the most part...I grew up in some semi rough parts of town but not the projects or anything.
ONE LAST THING YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE TERMS LIKE HOOD DUDE BECAUSE THATS NOT BEING SPECIFIC . DO YOU MEAN PEOPLE FROM THE QUOTE UNQUOTE HOOD? LOL . I KNOW YOU DONT, BUT YOU SEE HOW E WORDS CAN OPEN UP ALL TYPES OF POSSIBLITIES, AND CATEGORIZED CERTAIN PEOPLE . IF YOU JUST SAID THUGS ,THEN THATS MORE EASY TO BREAK DOWN BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT MEANS A HOODLUM GANGSTER LOL . BUT HOOD DUDE NOT SO MUCH BECAUSE PEOPLE FROM THE HOOD ARE ALL DIFFERENT
ALSO IF A WOMEN DONT WANT TO BE CALLED BITCHES AND HOES , THEN MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU SHOULD PROTEST . I ONLY CALLED WOMEN BITCHES OUT OF ANGER AND IF SHES MEAN . LOL YOU NOW . I WOULD NEVER CALL YOU THAT , BUT IT SEEMS LIKE ALOT OF WOMEN ENJOY BEING CALLED A BITCH AND EMBRACE IT, LIKE ITS A TERM OF ENDEARMENT LOL . ITS JUST THE ERA WE LIVE IN ALOT NEGATIVE THINGS AND TERMS ARE OKAY NOW .
(continued) not being myself, was only doing it please other people, and I hated myself for that. So I went to school and acted like MYSELF and didn't need to explain nothing to nobody. I had no friends after that. I didn't care, I didn't want to associate myself around those type of people. Not to say that I don't hang with black people, I just kick it people who don't act that way and actually have a good head on their shoulders. So, you don't have to explain yourself to anybody who ask. <3
@NappturalDancer2K10 ur so right! I just act how I want to act..I don't need anyone's approval but it would be nice to be accepted. Some things that I like are things that other black people like..but some of the things I like are things that they don't stereotypically like to do. People don't realize that it depends on how you were raised also..it's not about acting white or being fake. Some people grew up in different environments with different life experiences so that's their real attitude!
Girl I get that all the time. Ever since middle school, I never had that "ghetto girl" mentality or whatever. And everytime I get approach by black guys they ask me, why do you act white all the time? I just ignore them and keep it moving. They even called me a house nigger, oreo, wanna be white, all kinds of bullshit. I'm the way I am because I the way I was raised, and yes at times I do try to fit in with other black girl who wear nike, baby phat, skirts with sneakers, but I realized that I'm
I do not fit in with them either. That's why most of my friends are white or Mexican.

A lot of people just wear masks. They try to act all cool because they live to please everybody.
But you skin colour, culture should not define you. It doesn't matter what people think, but what God thinks. He's on your side.
alexandervanwyk 1 month ago

I sooo agree. Black women have rejected my friendship due to me not having an attitude or being ghetto like them.

MySmile012 4 months ago
@MySmile012 i think the difference is that black people on the whole often are self obsessed and think they are gods gift when really many people dont agree with that i mean when you say we love being black its like ok congratulations the words i love beig white would never come out my mouth and im absolutely fine with how i am i wouldnt trade to be black or anything else you only gotta turn on the music channel to see how self obssessed black people are compared to white and i mean about colour
mattsk89 4 months ago
@mattsk89 I was just saying that just because a black person isn't stereotypical, it doesn't mean that they have self hate or wish they weren't black. Nobody constantly reminds you that you're white so of course you wouldn't mention it much. It's a non factor. People will never let me forget I am black so I might as well embrace it lol. In real life I don't go parading around talking about how black I am lmao. I'm just a crayon that is a little darker than most :-)

@ryanr20091 What I mean by a hood dude is a dude with a hood mentality..a dude who I can tell is from the hood as soon as I get to know them. I don't care where someone is from..You can be from the hood and not have a hood mentality.
MySmile012 5 months ago
@MySmile012 there is nothing wrong with a hood mentality :) at the end of the day it's how you use it to get by. being from the hood in brooklyn i have skill sets that go a long way when life gets rough and your down on your luck (not talking robbing/drug dealing). but folks who have had it all handed to them would not be able to survive well with only a little to go around. you would be surprised what you learn in the areas i call home for the time being :) great vid
PoliticallyEndcorrec 5 months ago
@PoliticallyEndcorrec That's true..I'm somewhere in between..I'm not from the hood but I definitely have not had everything handed to me. I think you're speaking more of street smarts than a hood mentality
MySmile012 5 months ago
@MySmile012 street smarts is what the hood mentality is built upon. guys who are gang members, violent, or lack logic is not the hood mentality it's the gang/thug lifestyle. lmao i would have to make a video to break it down smfh. the ghetto has so many rules of conduct to live by in order not to be a victim thats it's insane. apologies for assuming you had a silver spoon. your demeanor suggested such a childhood to me by default of your sophistication in these videos.
PoliticallyEndcorrec 5 months ago
@PoliticallyEndcorrec lol it's okay..I can act sophisticated without a silver spoon lol. I work at a low paying retail job that I have been at for over a year (until I get my degree and/or find something better) doing work that a lot of people would not choose to do...a lot of these little brats quit within a few weeks. My parents didn't buy me a car..I could go on and on about being part of the struggling middle class but I'll stop. People in the hood aren't the only ones who face challenges
