How to Make a Lava Lamp the Easy Way

To make an easier lava lamp... get a cup, fill it up with water half way, add any type of oil so the whole mixture has filled the cup 3 quarters of the way. Then add some food colouring. then add table salt!!! simple as that! and if you want to make even more realistic... put a lamp over it!

use a glass bottle , mineral oil and some candle wax , get a really strong light bulb and put the bottle with the ingredients on top of it make sure it's sealed so no light can escape , and when the wax gets heated up....you'll see something WAY cooler than this :P

ive done this but instead of alkaseltser i mixed baking soda into the water and droped citric acid in it since its an acid and the baking soda is a base it will cause a chemical reaction but think this way looks alot easier good work bob :)

@swaggerboy36 yes. its just a product for an upset stomach. they come in little tablets and will probably be next to Rolaids and what not, but it has to be Alka-Seltzer to make it fizz. You can find it at almost any store.
