I had the pleasure of working the front of house mixer at this gig while I was an intern. It was one of the most intense shows I've done. A lot of instruments. I'm the dude in the grey hat behind Cuomo to the left.
The vid I saw of Say it Ain't So is kind of random, still cool, but didn't come together like THIS. This video is amazing it's almost like they practiced this and then it all came together into one giant cohesive sound.
this almost makes me cry, it's so cool. thats so awesome, a band that actually brought its fans together to all play instruments in one big music orgy. fucking awesome. i have goosebumps
This wasn't a surprise show - 107.7 The End gave out like 200 tickets to people who won them over the radio. And in order to get in, you had to bring an instrument to play along.. there were only a certain amount of guitars allowed, etc etc etc. Anyways, yeah it was just invite only and they gave away the tickets over the course of a month, I think. It was a great show though :D
I know.. they went down the whole west coast and did a show.. there was also one in Portland and one or two in California. I've heard that more bands are going to start doing it, too.
This is beautiful, i think it's awesome weezer has their fans join them play the instruments and have the best live ever!
not only do you get to see weezer sing and play out live, you are part of them!
i just love weezer! =W=
