The first time I heard this song was off my dad's "Chinese Eyes" album. My dad has acollection of music to die for. When he found out I liked this song,he sat me down and played the dylan and harpor versions. I thought they were all great and different in a good way. Kids today of my era could only wish that they had an incredible music teacher like my dad. Thanks DAD,I LOVE YOU !

In 1978 (February) I purchased Queen's "News of the World" and was stunned by the song 'All Dead'.

I never recaptured that sense of dread until I first heard this tune. And those last few lines socked me in the gut.

When this album was released there were a lot of anti-war and anti-nuke protests going on. The effects of nuclear war and fallout were a common theme of the time.

"She didn't suffer when the fallout sprayed."

This one line turns the song from a something that takes place many years ago, to something that is modern. The singer is separated from his love because of the effects of nuclear war.
