@bradyrules325....Wrronnng! 104 is documented...114 is told. He struck me out from 2nd base in 1963. I swear he started that curve off directly at third base. Strike three.
So much misinformation. To say Feigner, or anyone else throws over 100mph is ridiculous. The hardest throwing pitchers in the game throw in the mid 80's. The top speed at the ISC World's last summer in the Quad Cities was 89 mph by Adam Folkard from Austrailia. 84 mph from 46 ft is equal to a 103 mph fastball from a MLB pitcher, plus there's more movement on the ball. Men's fastpitch is a great game. Too bad the ASA could care less about it.
Also I vaced the guy that pitches for the king and his court (not the king) & he could throw 80 mph behind his back. no joke. it's crazy ridiculous! Great experience for sure though.
Softballs can't be pitched that fast and their motion doesn't have enough momentum. Their foot barely gets off the ground. I play fastpitch softball and I know for a fact.
FROM 46FT AWAY its equal to a hard ball at 130mph do the math .... Eddie Feighner threw 112mph from 46ft away fastball is way way harder to hit I have played both fastball is freaking retarded to hit
not really buddy. I played little league for baseball and some pitchers pitched aroud 70 from 48 feet away. And plus 14 feet doesn't give you an extra 60mph or w.e.
Until you get in the box against a crow-hopping pitcher throwing 80+ mph...who also can make the ball rise and drop a couple of feet, you cannot have any conception of how hard it is to make consistent contact against ISC/top ASA pitchers. The reality is that they are releasing the ball about 41 feet away, so from a comparative standpoint, the ball gets on top of you considerably faster than a 95 mph pitch from 60 feet. Check out Feighner's success against the NL All-Stars in the late 60s.
@VoteGingrich great comment..Feigner had something like 1300 no hitters and over 900 perfect games..there will never be no one like that again...R.I.P. Eddie
Why don't you bother looking up the Sports Illustrated article I mentioned, where they tell you flat out he threw 104. The article's actually called something like "This Man Can Rise It, Drop It, and Pop It At 104mph"...yeah, must've been a typo every time they said 100+ in the article.
I think you are wrong dude. 17 feet it's like 5 meters. In softball you pitch at 46 feet (14 meters). A fastball in Fastpitch softball can reach almost 80 mph (129 kmh). A pitch in baseball at that speed reaches the plate in 0.55 sec while in softball takes 0.30 sec. Same speed, less distance, so the ball looses less speed than in baseball, ergo, it reaches the plate faster.
yeh im from australia and our fastest pitcher can throw about 137km/h (i recently faced him). i also play baseball and face pitchers who throw about 90mph and i can say that the softball pitcher looks alot faster

My dad pitched and threw in the mid 90's and have heard plenty of stories of men pitching in the 100's. So yes it's possible & very real.

Mmkay, if I knew a men's fastpitch pitcher, I would go see if I could hit off him.
And when I find one I'll post it.

It's great to see men's fastpitch coming back.
Having played both, I preferred playing softball myself. It was fun, and I'm now on the other side, as a man in blue :P

Ty Stofflet threw 104 mph breaking pitches consistently. 104 mph ACTUAL speed...not converted to MLB equivalent.
Sports Illustrated did a piece on him a few decades ago.
104 mph from 46 feet and you think a baseball is harder to hit?
