If I ever turn to griefing I will keep in mind two simple rules :

1 rooms with gravel and sand are possibly hiding some trap

2 Don't use the path the builder provided and expect you to walk like a sucker, dig your own path through his walls :)

there is a lot better way to do this, you can have buttons/levers/pressure pads whatever instead of destroying a torch by effecting the flow of water with redstone so the water sets it off. Basically a lot tidier and less obvious trap/ hidden rooms

I have a house on a beach, and i have like 7 switches by my metal front door, if you pick the wrong on you fall down 10 blocks into Lava. So far, 8 people have fell in, and one person made it inside. Only to find i had hidden my chests behind a painting in a room full of TNT, with a pattern to travel that only I know.

@DamnEverything wait one month, and u can see on my channel the damn biggest traphouse, its fully griefsave, including walls of obsidian under water, tnt-pattern to walk (which are easier ones), a 1/100 chance to hit the right torch to open the lava pitfall, and many more (dark labyrinth with monsters, a minecart ride in a tunnel under lava in the nether, and many more unpleasant surprises such as 3 different ways, where only one leads to where u want to go)

I know how to break the sand 'locks' You break the sand block in the bottom, and quickly place a torch, and every piece of sand will be destryoed ;)
