@ozkrdzknight *Spoilers>* In SS the Triforce was separate and Link needed to enter the Realm (probably the Sacred Realm) where the pieces reside in order to unite it. After he makes that wish the united Triforce stays on the plinth in the hands of the Goddess statue, if you go back outside it's still there. I think it's more probable from SS>OOT the Triforce remained whole and returned to the SR. This being because the Ganondorf split has to do with him touching a united Triforce.
