  • FINALLY! Someone else knows my pain from Bandai. They have some of the worst DVD pressings on the market and they have the audacity to call out fansubbers. Make better discs and we'll buy them. That aside, awesome review. I saw Sword of the Stranger in theaters a few times and that last fight is freakin' amazing! Keep up the good work Jii-san!

  • Nice review and great movie :)

  • GrumpyJiisan, you should take a road trip out to California next year and do a review at Anime Expo instead of in the desert.

  • I don't have too many Bandai dvds in my collection, but the only time I had to send one of my disks back, it was from Bandai (Flag #3 IIRC). And one another Flag dvd doesn't work on my computer at all, but luckily it works on my stand alone dvd-player.

    Oh, and good review. I really enjoyed this movie. I also collect old martial art movies, so in that sense, this one fit well in my collection.

  • Great use of music, Gramps!

    Now that you mention it, the only anime Boxed Set I have that was 'defective' was one that came from Bandai, too; it's a six-dvd-set, and disk #4 was replaced with disk #3. I found out, though, one full month after I ordered it online, so I was stuck....-_-;

    Also...you crossed a bridge to set the camera, went back to do the intro, walked back up to the camera to film the review, then back to do the finale, then returned for the camera....must be tiring.

  • Good review. Holy Cow! How high is the Devil's Ridge? From the look of the scenery, you must have practice mountain climbing to get up there.

  • Not that hard. About 5 miles of dirt forest service road thru the valley floor below goes to the trailhead. The trail is about 1.5 miles and 400' climb to the bridge. The last part of the trail is steep but well maintained (quite a change from bushwacking a wilderness area.) I was surprised I had the bridge to myself, since the trail is mentioned in many popular Az hiking books. Maybe the cloudy day that looked like it was going to rain gave me the valley to myself.

  • that would be awsome place for a sword fight your right :D

  • I checked this movie out a few months ago. I thought it was alright, but I really found the kid annoying. I felt bad for him, but I hated his attitude.

    The movie reminded me of Ninja Scroll in a way, probably due to the main character.

    Nice review as always.

  • Fuck yeah 5 stared keep making these videos jii-san you're awesome.
