  • He was a member of the Nazi party since it's inception. Should have been tried as war criminal

  • @ruthzitron On what grounds?

  • @ShittiestChannelOnYT

On the gounds that he did nothing in his position to help the oppressed

  • @ruthzitron Simple membership doesn't mean much. Bricklayers and blue collar folk joined the party or else they didn't get contracts. In Nazi Germany, one could be a party member but that was the extent of their involvement. It's a bit like Americans belonging to Republican or Democrat...it's just a label but that doesn't mean they are politically active. Same with Nazi party members. Should we hold all Russians accountable for Stalin's purges because they were Communist party members too?

  • What a joy to find this series of postings. Thank you so much!

  • @Tizzyization

    You're welcome! :)

  • @mariandelochs thank you mariandelochs, i love karajan. Thank you

  • @CarlMariaWeber Is the Gustav´s Mahler 5th Stmphony, movement Scherzo whit BPO

  • @CarlMariaWeber It's the scherzo from Mahler's 5th symphony.

  • Gustav Mahler's fifth symphony

  • Might seem like an odd question: What is the correct pronunciation of his name? Is the first "a" in "Karajan" long or short?

  • @borjon23 It is a somewhat plosive unvoiced a.

  • @CarlMariaWeber

Mahler's Symphony No. 5, end of the third movement (scherzo)

  • @CarlMariaWeber

You know, I'm really not sure about the title of that piece...perhaps someone else viewing here would know? So sorry! :(

  • @mariandelochs It's the ending of Mahler 5th's Scherzo, wich Karajan recorded in 1973 :-)

  • @mariandelochs It's the tone poem "Till Eulenspiegel" by Richard Strauss.

  • @mariandelochs It is the Scherzo from Mahler 5

  • @mariandelochs

the last few bars of the Scherzo from Mahler's 5th symphony

  • Wow, you actually found it! Congratulations! Thanks for the notice! :)

  • Very true. He had as his goal the spread of classical music to as many people as possible. His recordings are still selling very well today - for good reason, too. They're some of the best still that you can find.

  • I'm not sure what piece it is, either, but it does sound like Mozart!

  • His music is truly wonderful.

  • His ritual of "returning to nature" for his energy, etc, reminds me of Mahler. This is a very nice biography, thank you for posting!

  • You're welcome!

  • Wonderful. I always wanted to know more about the maestro. Now I can!!!

  • I'm glad you like the documentary.

  • You're welcome ! The rest of the vid will be uploaded in installments. Still a few more to go ....

  • Many thanks for uploading this.
