I think that you can. I have the Nellie doll and I am renaming her, because, just like in one of your comments, I like the look of her, and I like the name Nellie, but it doesn't suit her (in my opinion). So yes, of course it is OK to change their names :]

Sure, I think it's okay. They are your dolls after all. I personally don't think I'll ever change my doll's names (Emily, Elizabeth, & Samantha) because I grew up with their stories and their names the way they are, but if I did change their names it would probably be something like Emily > Claire; Elizabeth > Chloe (After Chloe Agnew, because I think she looks like her); and Samantha > Delaney.

That's fine. I personally don't do it, but no one is stopping anyone from renaming. Everyone has that right to do so. Who really cares if you rename a doll. It's like having a right to change the doll's story if it already had one. I did that with two of my dolls.
