I like it but playing downtempo the sounds are rather bare. For the price its great if you just want an analogue drum machine.I think i'm gonna go for the modular one.
@petersedin Thanks! I don't think it has the same boom. The 808 has a slight pitch bend down that really gives it weight. However I still like the MFBs BD....
If you want a cheap analog drum machine... then yes it is worth it. Yes you can plug it into ya hi-fi. However it is designed to be plugged into a mixer... as it has multi outs... and the main stereo out panning is hard left or right for some of the sounds...
I still want one, Cymbal, Hats & Snare are super tight I should be picking up a TR-909 next week but you can never have too much drum machine especially when its analog. Whats the sequencer like on it?
If the exchange rate was a bit better (I'm from the UK) then I would snap one up straight away.
Not as far as I know. It does have 4 separate outputs for the HiHat, BD, SD, Clap though.... so you can bring up the HH on a separate channel of you mixer and pan it how you like.
I uploaded this video again with a different audio compression rate. Still sounds like puss! I'm guessing YouTube has compressed it more... it sounded fine before I uploaded it!
Wow who put it in the wash too hot?
That is TINY
Could start a new genre

PaulskiMusic 2 months ago
@PaulskiMusic The big knob is tempo.... and it can also be synchronized to incoming MIDI-clock.

@GoldbabySamples great ! but you cant actually see in what tempo you are in, apart from being synchronised with external Midi ?

@PaulskiMusic Correct. There is no tempo displayed...

"I like it but playing downtempo the sounds are rather bare."
That can be easily fixed with compression, reverb and the copious use of dub echo.

It has a sound that hints at an 808. I wouldn't call it an 808 clone...

How does this compare to a real 808 Hugo?

@ClarkTrentMusic
No comparison
