  • Wow who put it in the wash too hot?

    That is TINY

    Could start a new genre

    DOLLS HOUSE

  • to get this into propellerhead record is it easy to do?

  • @ThePellerhead I don't have Record... however I can't see why not...

  • got any BPM controll ?

  • @PaulskiMusic The big knob is tempo.... and it can also be synchronized to incoming MIDI-clock.

  • @GoldbabySamples great ! but you cant actually see in what tempo you are in, apart from being synchronised with external Midi ?

  • @PaulskiMusic Correct. There is no tempo displayed...

  • You have to have this hooked up to a computer to use it, right?

  • @gwugluud No you don't... it is a stand alone drum machine...

  • @GoldbabySamples Good...I was thinking Boss and Alesis were the only ones still making HETEROsexual drum machines...Kuel, Thanks!

  • sweet sound real old school

  • Lovely little machine! Fishtank don't worrt about space, it's TINY!!!

I made a video jamming my 522 through some Filter/ Octave Fuzz and Reverb Pedals, see my videos

Goldbaby, I heard some of your sample packs and they are AMAZING!!!!

  • I could do with one of those but i just don't have the space....

  • i have f*king huge hands BUT I NEED THIS!!!! lol

  • the rimshot sucks

  • @GoldbabySamples The controls seems kind packed not very good with large fingers I bet?

  • @PulseWidthM0d3r Yes they are a bit fiddly. It didn't bother that much though...

  • Does anyone else besides analogue haven carry these? They are out of stock.

  • @calaverasgrande You can buy them directly from the maker: mfberlin.de

  • cool mpc 60 tabel :D

  • I like it but playing downtempo the sounds are rather bare. For the price its great if you just want an analogue drum machine.I think i'm gonna go for the modular one.

  • @synth77 A Modular Drum Machine? Wow! I didn't know such a Thing existed! Any idea of the Details so I can have a Butchers Hook? Thanks

  • @therealKINDLE Check it out....: Google search: Schlagzwerg

  • @synth77

"I like it but playing downtempo the sounds are rather bare."

That can be easily fixed with compression, reverb and the copious use of dub echo.

  • i love this gadget

  • It has a sound that hints at an 808. I wouldn't call it an 808 clone...

  • How does this compare to a real 808 Hugo?

  • @ClarkTrentMusic

    No comparison

  • Can this be purchased in the USA.., and if so.., how much does it go for?

  • @squeakD You could try Analogue Haven.

  • That's some phat low end. Is this DIY?

  • @phobik2000 No it is a commercial drum machine made by MFB.

  • I don't think so...

  • Can it do odd time signatures?

  • Just ordered this. It sure sounds good, but it looks like shit. I just hope it isn't buidl as poorly as it looks...

  • @SYN7HOR I think for the price it is pretty good!

  • @GoldbabySamples Yeah, it doesn't feel so bad. I actually like it's small shape. Very nice for making beats in the couch.

  • @GoldbabySamples Yeah, it doesn't feel bad. I actually like its small shape. Very nice for making beats in the couch.

  • why is this machine so small and the 808 so big?

  • @offroadrc The TR808 was designed 30 years ago... The MFB-522 is only a couple of years old...

  • @offroadrc The 808 was designed in the 1980s the MFB-522 was designed very recently...

  • Sounds awesome, better then mine... Did you add any compression/effects?

Did you run it through a mixer?

  • @rudyvanos No... just through my Metric Halo ULN-2 converters...

  • hi mr goldbaby love your samplesets! how do you compare the bassdrum with the 808? goes as deep?

  • @petersedin Thanks! I don't think it has the same boom. The 808 has a slight pitch bend down that really gives it weight. However I still like the MFBs BD....

  • could i control this with ableton?

  • @DvonKron It has Midi in... so I don't see why not...

  • Yeah, this little baby sound really good. Nice demo, thanks for posting ;-)

  • Yeah, this little baby sound really good. Thanks for posting ;-)

  • @kellyssa3

Sounds better in person... LOL. Youtube audio sux!

    Hugo

  • its so tiny LoL

  • Good demo, is it possible to do other than TR 808- like stuff with this?

  • @9JohnSmith9 - 808ish sounds are really what it does. You are not going to get it sounding like a 909 for instance...

  • How much are those little things?

    Cool, dr.rhythm TR/ boss sounds.

  • @AMOKIAN I bought it for 255 euro.

  • I've just ordered one !! Sounds good ! Now I hope it comes in good conditions (i've read is a little flimsy). Thanks for this demo.

  • I'm planning on buying this drummachine is it worth it? One more question: Can you plug it into a stereo and/or Hi-Fi system?

  • If you want a cheap analog drum machine... then yes it is worth it. Yes you can plug it into ya hi-fi. However it is designed to be plugged into a mixer... as it has multi outs... and the main stereo out panning is hard left or right for some of the sounds...

  • Ok thanks for telling me :)

  • I still want one, Cymbal, Hats & Snare are super tight I should be picking up a TR-909 next week but you can never have too much drum machine especially when its analog. Whats the sequencer like on it?

If the exchange rate was a bit better (I'm from the UK) then I would snap one up straight away.

  • The sequencer is not to bad. Kind of TR like. Easy to use...

  • I've had one for a few months and it sounds stunning, one or two sounds are a little noisy, but for the money its a bargain.

  • It certainly is a bargain!

  • i got mine today but my hihats are panned hard left on my stereo out is there any way to change the pan settings

  • Not as far as I know. It does have 4 separate outputs for the HiHat, BD, SD, Clap though.... so you can bring up the HH on a separate channel of you mixer and pan it how you like.

  • thanks for the reply, i got it sorted out,it was just a bad cable , still a little puzzled as to why it only happened to my hihats . . .?

  • Sounds good thru my speakers ;-).

  • It's actually a really nice sounding analog drum machine...

  • I uploaded this video again with a different audio compression rate. Still sounds like puss! I'm guessing YouTube has compressed it more... it sounded fine before I uploaded it!
