Popcorn was full of shit. He wanted to be a rock star and a moonshiner---those don't mix. I drunk lots of shine in my 50 years most better than suttons sugary pop skull stuff and you aint never heard of any of the old boys that made the shine I've drunk. That's cause they're successful at it. No one knows they do it and they just want your money, not your adulation.popcorn wasn't an outlaw--just a wannabe celeb.
@seymourbbest That's very interesting. I just read the NY Times article on him, and I guess it's inevitable that when Cocke County legalizes microdistilleries, reporters go to the guy with the biggest reputation. Nice to know that there are guys more interested in just producing the best quality. OTOH, are you so sure Popcorn's publicity-mindedness wasn't just a part of his strategy to maximize profits?
R.I.P Popcorn, I can't wait until I set back the money to get a tattoo of your portrait! You'll always be loved and remembered fondly here in your home state and I'll wear you on my skin 'til I go to my grave!
taxin moonshine, come on now... this man killed himself as a result as america being hyprocitical. America raped britain with this shit. NO FUCKING TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. How are these fuck ups running this country, when it seems everybody hates how they are doing it.
R.I.P Popcorn. True American Rebel/Outlaw. Its a shame to see such legendary generations pass, and then realize that all we have left is what.
rip pop! ill always remember you as ya were! Samuel sutton, my great granfather was popcorns brothers son! i wish i coulda spent more time with him! :( ill see ya soon pops!
Free enterprise! Oh no no no! B.A.T.F. says, Pay the government. For what? More government entrusion! Tax this Tax that....Let us live ass holes! That was all Popcorn was trying to do! He took his own life because he was tired of the B.S. Where has our FREEDOM gone?
I'am glad Pam got a license to keep his legacy going I seen it on Discovery channel!! If I get a chance to visit Nashville I'am a gonna get me some WHITE WHISKEY FROM POPCORN'S RECIPE!!!!
Family friend, Ali Randolph, sang her original song about Popcorn at his Memorial Service. She has now posted a video of the song played with her band, The Outta Luck Band.
The video includes footage of Popcorn's car in which he committed suicide.
