  • Oh this is great it will open the turkana region they should go for smaller for efficient turbines

  • @ast0nv8 Actually, 850kw is pretty efficient, but the most cost effective project are larger, not smaller. The best are usually at around 2MW

  • @Tamizushi But smaller jet shape turbines would create as just as much energy the big ones use generators to spin the blades so they can go faster

  • @ast0nv8 Small turbines are more prone to failure, and have a shorter life expectancy than industrial turbines because they tend to spin faster. They also cost more for maintenance and management and require more land by unit of energy. Finally, because of the blades inertia, the electrical current produced by larger turbines is more stable.

You really have to go large scale for wind to compete with other energy sources. For small scale, solar is usually better even this it's very expensive.

  • @Tamizushi I understand all of that but im saying someguy made a turbine shaped out of a jet engine and they did studies and they found it it generated more electricity than the bigger blade turbines ever since i saw his inventions he just disappeared from public

  • @ast0nv8 You mean a ducted rotor turbine? There are plenty of them on the market. They have been invented and reinvented several times with a lot of hype but it's always basically the same thing. They are more efficient than a conventional turbine of the same size but that's only a problem when you only have a limited sweep area available. They can't compare with an industrial turbine. Just google "ducted rotor turbine" for more info.

  • @Tamizushi I was not talking about ducted rotor turbine you search Flo design turbine look at the images thats what im talking about that it could even rival industrial turbines

  • @ast0nv8 Ok thank you. I searched for it and it is a ducted rotor turbine however you look at it although they add a special twist to it. I'm all for innovation and if flodesing can provide what they are promising this is great but until they prove their worth, I hope you don't mind my skepticism.

  • @Tamizushi Well im skeptic also but the wind turbines in lake turkana will give the region a much need boost
