  • 2 people dont know blaster master.... fucking epic game... i still play it till this day... good stuff

  • Brings back fond memories. One of the greatest games ever made in its time.

  • i havent played this game since i was 10

  • Love/hated this game. Don't think I ever made it past level 5 but I'd play it again if I could.

  • when i was young i played this shit with me uncle i never new the name until now

  • i loved and hated that game i loved it cause it was fun i hated it cause i had a hard time beating it and i always went back for more lol and i've only beat the game once never to repeat it again still played it but never beat it again lol

  • An awesome game with an awesome soundtrack XD You seem to know it by heart ;D

  • A band called Vomitron had its cover music :-)

  • Fucking loved this game when I had a NES!!!

  • @SolarArcher @SolarArcher I am working on a hack for this one. It'll be playable on emulator pretty soon. I redesigned 10 maps out of 16 for now. It'll be a completely whole different game than the original one! I just posted a video response lower in this page about it! :)

  • @HalDanGhor Cool! Let me know when it's done!

  • @SolarArcher Sure! ;)

  • i love this game!!!!!

  • u have a turbo controler or cheats on? Because I have spent days trying to kill that fucking boss shooting at him for hours and it has done nothing to him after hours, and I had my gun upgraded 2x.

  • @Bob0p No Turbo nor cheat. If you're talking about the Boss, you better quit playing, because it's so easy... Use the bombs, not the gun... ;)

  • @HalDanGhor played the wii version can't tell the difference between which button is what.

  • @Bob0p You can always use the pause method with 1 bomb.

  • @Bob0p When you go in through the door don't move just stand where you are and fire the grenades.... he'll touch you twice and that itz...fire till dead

  • i looked everywhere for this and finally found it.

  • Amazing game. I didn't finish it but still had fun, lol.

  • This brings back memories.

  • one of my favorite games of all time...sadly enough i have never could get past the seventh level. and a lot of times i had trouble beating the crab boss too.

  • Best. Game. Ever.

  • @KeViNhAnMaN To me, the original is the best one. ;)

  • i was never too good in playing games from this era but i always loved the music back then and now i love it even more , the graphics simplicity was awesome although playablity was quite tough.

  • thanks

  • i honestly thought this game was unbeatable

  • This was the FIRST game I had on NES! Plus the Super Spike V'Ball/World Cup combo

  • this game totally has the same look and music sound as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Metroid... same manufacturers?

  • @druid2131 Might be the case indeed! :)

  • @HalDanGhor

    Metroid was made by Nintendo.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by another Company.

    Blaster Master by SunSoft.

  • The dude looks like hello kitty from behind xD looks like a sick game!!!

  • one of the most awesome games form NES !!!!

    so many memories!:)

  • @ironbox999

agreed..this makes me wanna fire up the ole NES or buy it on Wii channel.

  • I rememer playing this game, I loved it then, as much as seeing it now.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • tech me o wise on

  • The top-down part seems to use the same engine as Fester's Quest (but looks way more fun).

  • festers quest is almost a direct copy, but somewhere along the lines they fucked it up beyond saving. especially when they removed the final upgraded gun and made the wave gun that colided with the walls the final gun. i mean seriously..? the final upgraded gun fires in a wide waving pattern and the bullets collide with the walls and other objects while the majority of the game is played in tight confined areas!?! most of the time the bullet could only go like an inch in front of you. FQ sucked

  • how do you get out the car

  • Press "Select". ;)

  • thanks

  • this was one of those games that deserved a SNES / Super Famicom sequel.

Imagine this with Super Metroid style graphics.

This was the first game i remember that called the enemies at the end of the stage "Bosses"

and man did it have some huge bosses.

My jaw dropped when i first played this game.

Even now, over 20 years later this games graphics and gameplay stand out.

Blaster Master is one of the biggest Gems in the NES library

  • It got a sequel on sega genesis for some reason that frankly wasn't terribly good from what i remember. I remember the controls on it being utterly horrible and in a lot of ways the NES original actually looked better.

  • play the sequel on the Game Boy Color Blaster Master: Enemy Below Its more like the original game.

I was totally disappointed with the Genesis Version. The controls were terrible. The gameplay wasnt fun. I had thought a 16 bit Blaster Master would have been awesome.

Thats why i refer to Super Metroid as an example. Blaster Master done like that would rock hard.

Id love so much to see this game get the "Megaman 9 treatment"

  • omfg this is one of my favorite games of all time, when i played it i never passed more than the 3rd level (or world xD) but anyway its a fantastic game

  • this game is timeless

  • The problem is that it hasn't been released on the European Wii Shop Channel.

Also, I got the Internet Channel for free back when it was still a beta so I don't get a "free" NES game ^_^

  • I love this game but it's so hard! I made it to World 7 ONCE on the NES. Compared to this, Adventure of Link is extremely easy.

I'll buy it again when it gets a EU Virtual Console release.

  • Hey, it is now on North American VC on the Wii release.

  • Great game. Great music. Sunsoft made some awesome NES games. Batman being the best one.

  • I tell you, this game has one of the wildest story lines you will ever see in video games. Nonetheless, an incredible game of my childhood, oh the nostalgia, just watching this again. Thanks for posting the run through series!

  • Ahh! Fester's Quest! Oh wait, this is the much better version of that game.

  • this game my big brother would play over and over again. he never got tired of this game.

  • I was obsessed with this game when I was little...never could beat it though...I always got to where it started looking futuristic, and the tank weapon would shoot rainbow

  • ....,This vid single handedly flooded my mind with memories of being bullied and being depressed throughout elementry school while playing this game as an excape,

You will recive my therapy bills in the mail!

    lol jk, great nonstalga here!

  • Yup, that's how I rolled in elementary school too.

  • There is no hole in which you'll die like in the Mario Bros games for example. However, there are dangerous pits with pikes or plants that might make you die on some floors. Better avoid them! He! He! ;)

  • Holy crap, those are some really good graphics for a NES game.

  • yeah this is the second best graphic nes game imo, the first one is Startropic . Blaster Master is bad ass, really good game.

  • This is my absolute favorite nes game. I played and finished it again just last week. Fukken love it.

  • I remember playing it as a kid. GREAT classic game!

  • I found this & tetris in a goodwill store now all i need is an NES

  • grab a retro duo, it plays nes and snes games, for the ame prices as an old nes would cost

  • lot of old memories for me too i could never get pass the first part

  • I have seen someone play this before but I did not ever get the chance.

  • I still have a working NES and I have a working copy of this game. And about 20+ other working games

  • childhood memories when your only ambition was to play video games

  • @veronika900 Me and my little brother used to play this game when we were little in the year of 1997. This brings back memories of my child hood

  • When is Nintendo gonna bring this to the Virtual Console?

  • I know, they pretty much cornered the market in the gaming industry when it came to thier true competition from the 80s and early 90s. I couldn't belive that I was able to download Splatter House from the Turbo Graffix 16 system to my Wii. I barley play my XBOX 360 anymore.

  • i have my full Wii memory of VC, and 3 SD cards full and it's only like 25% of the games they have to offer. I know i can easily get them on roms..but it's something about having them ona console

  • man i never beat this game...this was the shit though!

  • yep

  • omfg omfg omg...this is bringing back some old old memories from like 15+ years ago or some shit haha ....thank you so much for this mate : )

    Shit I'm old lol

  • I absolutely loved this game as a kid. I actually got a tingle in my stomach while I was watching this vid!!!

  • This was, easily, one of my favorite games as a kid, with the original final fantasy (maybe metroid) being the only one(s) I liked more... oddly enough, I don't think I ever beat it.

  • The things in the water look like metroids. xD

  • what a performance

  • Wow you kick ass

  • I loved those tank physics. Thanks for bringing back my childhood!

  • This is my favourite NES game. Thx fot the video!

  • at 1:09 those things look like metroids

  • lol youre right XD

  • This game Pwns !

  • THIS GAME LOOKS SO FUN AND COOL

  • Hey, thanks for putting these up.

  • the back of his head reminds me of hello kitty without a face

  • Holy shit bro! I am seriously impressed you beat the first level in under three minutes WITHOUT getting hit even once! This can only be achieved by playing the SHIT out of this game, and even then it requires a little luck. But a hell of a job nonetheless!

  • My favorite NES game.

  • what? no upgrades? i never had the chance to see all the upgrades in action could you do another game play with getting everything. peace yo

  • Hi! No upgrades? I got everything in my game! I got while advancing in the WHOLE game my friend! That's only part 1/10! Did you see the other ones? Is it ok? ;)

  • This was 1 of my fav games! man i wish my NES still worked.... =( anyway thanx 4 the memories i have'nt 4got how fun this game use 2 be! =)

  • I loved this game,,made it once all the way to the end,,couldn't beat it tho..

  • This game was so fun. I never could get past the level with the crab. So I am looking forward to watching all of this thank you. Yae!!!!

  • That thing off to the left in 1:18 looks like a Metroid....soooo add metroid to the list :)

  • This game is like....equal parts:

    Zelda

    Moon Patrol

    Kid Chameleon

    Mega Man

    Guardian Legend

    Bomberman

    Fester's Quest

...conceptually speaking. Man I love this game.

  • the music is still some of the best in gaming history

  • This is a nice game

  • I believe he's revering to a Rapidfire "Turbo" controller where you can set the buttons to autofire when held.

I'd say he's saying it on account of just how fast you drop bombs and shoot the gun in Boss Fights =)

  • Thanks! :)

  • Blaster Master Is My ABSOLUTE favorite NES game.

Oh and Btw..did you use turbo?

  • No, I never use turbo for my YouTube videos. ;)

  • I loved this game growing up. But I could only get to the fourth stage before getting slaughtered. I had to resort to the game genie in order to beat it.......

  • once ( and unfortunately I have no actual proof) but I did beat the game on only one life

  • Same for me. Anyway, once we know that we did it and can do it, people doesn't have to agree with us. The most important is what is inside us! ;)

  • lol dude when i beat it i took a picture and video of the tv i was so damn excited

  • yes, one of my favorite games ever

i still have and play it

the water board was my fav--the music was great

--i miss the days of awesome gameplay--nowadays, it's all about graphics and suckiness

    lol

  • I LOVED this game when I was younger. It was kinda hard though. I was like 6 or 7 when I played this.

  • this game was the shit back in the day

  • love this game! i did only come to level 6... :/ never any longer

  • This games rocks i loved it! thanx for all the time spent in revivin the good old days lol!

  • I effing loved this game. The first NES game to my knowledge that actually lags if there are too many sprites on the screen.

    PWNAGE!

  • one of my favorite games ever .. i've never beaten it though, right now i am in the midst of finishing star tropics for the first time ever, sad to say i know, and then i am going to work on this and milons secret castle .. love watchin these dude keep at it ..

  • Thanks a lot dude! Yes, Milon's secret castle! I love this game too! It should be great to show it too on YouTube! Great idea! Thanks for making me think about it! ;)

  • Nice play. This game remind me some old memories... cant wait part 2!!!!

  • oh man that was fast, cant wait for part 2

  • Hell Yeah! I didn't know it could look so great! However, being perfect or so is very difficult with this game, because monsters move randomly and it is difficult to learn some patterns! I also know that other people put their own Blaster Master videos, but as for some other games, I want my own to be uploaded here! Thkx! ;)

  • it doesnt matter if other ppl did it already cause im planning to do the same, keep it up man

  • you should do a complete game speed run if you can beat the game that would be great, can't wait for the rest of the parts

  • I am not a speed runner, but when I have time, I will complete the complete game on videos for sure! ;)

  • that would be great thanks

  • I hope it will be. However, I don't think I will do it unharmed. Some areas are very difficult to get passed without taking a hit. And, it is even more difficult to do it in trying to be fast too, as I like to do it. But anyway, I will send my next videos sooner or later. So, stay tuned! :P

  • are you playing this on the oroginal NES or on an NES emulator on the PC

  • I can do both, but it is much faster using the recording emulator(fceu recording). ;)

  • prob is faster on the pc b/c you can use a program like FRAPS to record

  • But the fact is I will always have more fun playing games on TV rather than playing them on the computer. ;)

  • thats true im more comfy sitting in my bed playing a video game rather than playing it on the puter which i can do both well my pc can be like a VCR
