The desensitization to violence is much more rampant now then prior to the media explosion of mma, especially with kids & youth that can now train in dojo's/gyms on almost every corner, how to break joints or bones and how to choke a person out but do not have the maturity to realize that's not always the best option to do and shouldn't be the 1st option. If you train with a martial artist at a young age, the teacher makes a bond with his student and takes on the responsibility of guiding him/her on the right path. @Finq08 he didn't get banned. he wanted to do other things and went to commentating another league. At some point, he came back to UFC. The real question is why'd he come back. Paycheck, maybe. I know the announcer (buffer) gets a healthy paycheck.
Big John is actually a really humble guy. I think the major reason Dana set Mazzagati to the fire was because of the Velasquez-Rothwell fight (if not, I remember a lot of heat as a result of the stoppage too). Once again, I saw excellent refereeing on a fight that could have easily been stopped in the first round. Even the commentators were expecting a stoppage. & Steve went so far as to warn Rothwell inbetween rounds that if he failed intelligently defend himself, the fight would be stop'd.

George cuts weight to make 170. BJ fought most of his fights at welterweight at less than 170 lbs because he's not a true welterweight fighter. UFC 94 w/ GSP was 168. He has to try and keep weight on to fight at welter. Most of his welterweight fights he's out of shape because he'd have a hard time being lean and muscular at that weight. He's just too small too pack on enough muscle to be at 170. BJ's my favorite fighter. Can't wait to see him in Memphis
Do people not understand what pound for pound means? It's a hypothetical term referring to fighters all being the same size with no advantage from weight, height, or overall size. If GSP gets beat by silva it means nothing in pound for pound rankings. Silva walks around at 15-20 lbs heavier than st pierre and is 4 inches taller than him with a likely reach advantage. An obvious advantage for anderson. Pound for Pound is a subjective ideal that will always be different. Period.

Big John is actually a really humble guy. He never just stood there and watched ppl get rocked after they had lights out..he might have pulled ppl prematurely which I felt had happened before but nobody's perfect, and he was going by what he saw vs slow motion rewinds on a vid cam I mean come on. But Dana White's a JEW for cutting this guy short when he invested a major portion of his life in doing UFC and not taking a SWAT Commander position which I'm sure he was offered as he trained em.

I think the major reason Dana set Mazzagati to the fire was because of the Velasquez-Rothwell fight (if not, I remember a lot of heat as a result of the stoppage too). Once again, I saw excellent refereeing on a fight that could have easily been stopped in the first round. Even the commentators were expecting a stoppage. & Steve went so far as to warn Rothwell inbetween rounds that if he failed intelligently defend himself, the fight would be stop'd.

Even though Bj Penn lost to GSP twice what he did to diego was amazing. Diego isn't the best fighter in the world but no one has been able to beat him easily like Penn did. Penn hasn't went anywhere he is better then he ever used to be. Can't wait for UFC 112 and I get to see it in the movie theater on the extream screen for only $20 wish I could go see it live but the big screen is better than my tv at home.

A lot of people think so, and I am tempted to believe it too, but GSP is definitely the most well rounded guy in MMA and hands down by far the best wrestler. I think if the two of them fought it would most likely end up on the ground with GSP ground and pounding, though Silva still has better than a punchers chance.

One thing I would like to remind you is Anderson Silva has submitted a few guys before. Especially with the triangle choke. Guys who knew how to grapple. He's known for his strikes but his grappling can keep him alive I believe against GSP. Not sure who is better on the ground. I assume GSP is. I am not taking anything away from GSP. I just believe GSP is "good" on his feet while Anderson Silva is "insanely good" on his feet.

Also Dan Henderson (Pride LH champ) and Rich Franklin fought in the LH division, so they are big too. He also defeated Travis Lutter when Lutter didn't make weight. He also defeated James Irvin although Irvin tested positive for steroids. And just a couple of months ago he smashed forrest griffen the former UFC LH champ.

George cuts weight to make 170. BJ fought most of his fights at welterweight at less than 170 lbs because he's not a true welterweight fighter. UFC 94 w/ GSP was 168. He has to try and keep weight on to fight at welter. Most of his welterweight fights he's out of shape because he'd have a hard time being lean and muscular at that weight. He's just too small too pack on enough muscle to be at 170. BJ's my favorite fighter. Can't wait to see him in Memphis

Do people not understand what pound for pound means? It's a hypothetical term referring to fighters all being the same size with no advantage from weight, height, or overall size. If GSP gets beat by silva it means nothing in pound for pound rankings. Silva walks around at 15-20 lbs heavier than st pierre and is 4 inches taller than him with a likely reach advantage. An obvious advantage for anderson. Pound for Pound is a subjective ideal that will always be different. Period.

Do u even understand what p4p means? It's a hypothetical ranking basing fighters on how they would do if there were no size difference. I don't think anyone deny's BJ would maul GSP if GSP did not have such a massive size advantage. So in that regard he is right BJ is should be superior to GSP in p4p rankings, GSP has never fought outside of his weight class. BJ fought Machida to a close decision.

whoa. u guys are forgetting about anderson silva. the spider vs. gsp will be the answer to everybodys questions. thats if gsp doesnt bitch out and try to duck this one. and gsp fought in a differnt weight class only once at 170. against bj. hows he the best p4p. right now its silva and fedor until proven otherwise.

....fedor ( master in judo ) ....and I'm very sure that all the UFC figthers have seen the fedor's tranining ..more than 100 times trying to learn something from the "best figther in the world" ...( It said for mike goldber , big john mcarthy , joe rogan ...therefore .....rogers was the last hope of the retards that still think ...that today fedor is not the best figther in the world pound by pound .... .
