"Tuda gde my lubya svobodno peli" - lubia (loving) is a mistake.... tebia (You) is correct... In russian lang., word "song" is not "it" as in English, but "she". Thereby, singers address to song with 'You'..... Fly away on wings of wind.... To the homeland, You, our home (native) song... Where we sang You freely... where it was for us so freely with You (with song)...

Вся опера включая песню "Улетай на крыльях ветра" написана Бородиным, а также Римским-Корсаковым и Лядовым. Песня просто входит в сцену под названием "Половецкие пляски", но реального отношения к половцам она не имеет, как и вся опера. По структуре текста это даже понятно, такое впечатление что вы в пещерах живете и ничего не знаете. Кошмар блин.

That's from "Prince Igor" an opera by Alexander Borodin. This part is being sung when (according to the plot) Prince Igor (being a prisoner of war in a foreign land) is ordered to be executed having turned down the offer of freedom in exchange for loyalty. Song means: dying in a foreign land sucks, but death before dishonor. He escapes later tho :)
