I notice that Ossipova has hitched the silly shade scarves up to her elbows, rather than keeping them down at her wrists - in this way you can see her arms. Also the scarf is attached to her chignon, not the nape of the neck, leaving the line of the neck and head free and visible. Hate those shade scarves!
Quién dice que las mujeres no saltan. Natalia posee los mejores saltos del ballet en este momento, y sí ES FUEGO! Eso le da el plus de ser la mejor!!!
Zakharova and Osipova are both amazing, but the truth is... Osipova has FIRE, which Svetlana hasn't, I mean, you can't compare Osipova's kitri with Zakharova's! is pretty obvious that Osipova, thought she may have not Zakharova's lines, is so much more talented, she is pure passion, honesty, and fire, i love that about her, she has so much energy! love her
I've never liked this variation very much, but after seeing her dance it, I changed my mind. Maybe I had just never seen a ballerina who could really dance it. She is applauded since the beggining... and well earned applauses! :)
@brokenpointeMV I believe she wears Gaynor Mindens which a lot of people think look odd, Alina Cojocaru and Gillian Murphy also wear the brand I think.
If I met Angelina Jolie I'd be like "Hi, it's an honor to meet you". If I met Natalia Osipova I'd be like "OH MY FREAKING GOSH, I DON'T THINK I CAN SPEAK"
This solo is choreographed for a dancer that can jump. What more could be asked, she is magestic, graceful, extremely strong AND musical ... if this is not for her- what is? Although, we dancers are actually supposed to make a role our own- we are not supposed to clone ourselves on others. A role is something each dancer individually creates- that is the beauty of the live arts- every time is special and unique- just like human beings.
@bestofbritain I stand by what what I wrote. There is something slightly wrong about her 'centre' in the pencheés en pointe, and her phrasing on the choreography is not all it might be, given her enormous talent. I've watched this about five times now, and she doesn't seem right for it. Slowing up of the music to accommodate the developpe al la seconde which has inserted into the choreography is unpardonably vulgar.
@Buondelmonte123 Osipova did not insert the développé a la seconde - which I don't like either - all the current Bolshoi 2nd Shades do it at the end of the attitude devant part. Other than the développé, this version also includes an extra double piqué turn @1:11 in between the saut de basque and the finishing chainés, and @0:21 Osipova crosses the stage jumping (flying!) instead of simply running to the uptage right corner to repeat the cabrioles-chassés.
@Buondelmonte123 No problem :) I love discussing the choreographic variations between productions, and after watching/dancing these solos so many times these modifications don't pass unnoticed (and that abrupt devéloppé and Osipova's explosive turns are certainly not something that can pass unnoticed!)
her jump ıs gorgeous but her style ın thıs solo she looks lıke dancıng don quixote or somethıng ...thatswhy I dıdnt lıke so much but she is great dancer anyway..
@likeafirstday agree, lovely dancer, wrong variation. Look at Olga Iskanderova on the old Kirov Bayadere, not a great ballerina, but a wonderful soloist, and the style of variation is almost in her blood.
Loved it! Maybe she doesn't have soft Mariinsky arms, but she *is* very musical, and I have never seen anyone jump higher in this variation - it's outstanding!
@TheBunduBallerina Just telling it like it is! Lol! I love watching Osipova - she's like a breath of fresh air. She is an amazing talent. Of course she is not perfect in every role - but no ballerina is. Some ballets suit her better than others, but her love of dance always shines through and that jump is just phenomenal. Love Osipova!
It's like gravity doesn't apply to her!

The only thing I don't like about her is that her left foot is never straight when she is in air with the cabrioles. It's odd.

She took ballet to a completely different level. She's brilliant.
