That's one of the biggest problems I see with SOCOM and development now. You have these people who get on forums, and treat them like a suggestion box. They're not. To be honest, he is right though. Most of the people who played SOCOM 2 have kids, jobs and lives now. Making a game for an adult means "Minimal Game Playing Time". I don't like it anymore than you SOCOM 2 fans, but Video games in general are diving and everyone is jumping on the cash cow which is "The Newest Thing" and it's safe that way. I have given up on ever believing a SOCOM will be as good as SOCOM 2 so you should too.

@wrath111377 the last time i played socom 2 there were 50,000 people still playing, and that was with the cheaters fucking up the servers. i remember when the cheaters first came about there was always over 150,000 people on the game, now you get rid of cheating, do a small advertisement and show the people the copy, i can really see 200k copies sold. by copy i mean nothing added, keep it the same. graphics can change, dont add anything to the levels, and most importantly keep same view as s2
@ThisDamnHomelessGuy there haven't been 50,000 people playing socom 2 since 2003. those were the peak numbers for simultaneous gamers on the servers and only lasted a couple months, then went into the 30,000 to 40,000 area max until socom 3 came out. There were NEVER 150,000 people on that game. You are either very confused, or didn't think i'd be able to remember.

I loved SOCOM 1 It was my first Shooter ,not counting MGS, but I was little so I never really got into it to much I hope that they make a good one I really want to get into it.

Let me try it this way...we had 8 S2 clan members of which not one of the clan members bought the latest Socom game...so inserting the response "Socom brand is coveting a younger audience", my 2 sons now play shooters and they both did not want anything to do with the latest Socom game instead playing COD MW2.
The point is that Zipper lost the old school base by basically making a new game. Zipper also lost the emerging youth market when they tried to make an arcade shooter like MW2.

Furthermore socom 2 sold 1 MILLION less copies than Socom 1. The fanbase has been leaving since day 1. You should probably know what you're talking about before trying to make a point.

Frankly Zipper gave up on Socom2 way too early. They migrated their strategic resources to build FTB. The game's notority was harmed by the constant hacking and glitching I believe the game would have had stronger sales if properly marketed and protected.

I understand what you're saying. I'm happy to see Socom evolve, but I also miss the originality it brought to gamers. I've played Socom since the begining, even though I'm turning 20 now. (I was one of the high pitched annoying kids whining on the mic.) I happen to be one of the "Must buy, because it's a Socom title" people too. I understand both points, and I stand in the middle, I like the new material they're working with, but also enjoyed the old school Socom. I'd just want the old maps...

@wrath111377 the last time i played socom 2 there were 50,000 people still playing, and that was with the cheaters fucking up the servers. i remember when the cheaters first came about there was always over 150,000 people on the game, now you get rid of cheating, do a small advertisement and show the people the copy, i can really see 200k copies sold. by copy i mean nothing added, keep it the same. graphics can change, dont add anything to the levels, and most importantly keep same view as s2

Both Zipper and Ubisoft(GR:FS) have realized that most people want a different kind of game. Does that mean SOCOM 4 is gonna suck? No -it's a different game. That and most of you will buy it anyway.

@sakushi2k a socom game is a broken game that never gets fixed that runs at 15 frames a second with horrible hit detection and streetfighter 2 health bars. A socom game is a sequel (socom 2) that sells one million less copies than the first installment, and continues to lose sales with every installment. A socom game is about a view that lets you see the other team without being seen . Socom is for amatures. If you want a real game, play the game socom stole everything from. CSS

Let me try it this way...we had 8 S2 clan members of which not one of the clan members bought the latest Socom game...so inserting the response "Socom brand is coveting a younger audience", my 2 sons now play shooters and they both did not want anything to do with the latest Socom game instead playing COD MW2.
The point is that Zipper lost the old school base by basically making a new game. Zipper also lost the emerging youth market when they tried to make an arcade shooter like MW2.

@tillman40 socom 1 and 2 were both arcade shooters. Most people agree on that. objectives don't make a game realistic. The movements and gun mechanics were arcade all the way. Furthermore socom 2 sold 1 MILLION less copies than Socom 1. The fanbase has been leaving since day 1. You should probably know what you're talking about before trying to make a point.

Frankly Zipper gave up on Socom2 way too early. They migrated their strategic resources to build FTB. The game's notority was harmed by the constant hacking and glitching I believe the game would have had stronger sales if properly marketed and protected.
