@55macris How was Laura in concert ? I live and work in NYC and have seen and met so many artists over the years but never did get to see Nyro. I guess I figured that there would always be time enough to see her. Obviously and unfortunately, that was not to be. My loss. Glad she is finally entering the R and R Hall of Fame, although I always felt that accolades as such were never really important to her.
My all-time favorite singer. Love her more than anything. Lucky enough to see her, with only a piano and a vase of red roses, at Boston's Music Hall in '69 or '70. Laura blessed us all. Thanks for this post.
Such an intense, spiritual song rendered by Laura! Years ago I worked at a college radio station and needed a short song and grabbed this to play before the news. It was the first time I'd heard it. You can really feel the love with every note!

i am now a Nyro fan. heard her music in a Colin Farrell movie and made it my mission to find her. and i agree with Cassadine12....that kinda sad peaceful feeling...u just get locked in on her voice. i wish it was longer too.
@kdbgc10 So glad you were able to discover her. I've been a fan since 1969/70 and bought all her albums (still have them). I had the privilege of seeing her perform at the Bushnell theater in Htfd CT in 1972 (we drove in a snow storm). She was beautiful. Just her and a grand piano. When she sang Emmie, I cried. She was taken too soon, but her music will live on, forever.
i saw her many times at small clubs in manhattan....nothing like hearing her live....she definately had her dedicated fans
