  • laura is the most amazing singer....was lucky to see her perform in nyc many times

  • @55macris How was Laura in concert ? I live and work in NYC and have seen and met so many artists over the years but never did get to see Nyro. I guess I figured that there would always be time enough to see her. Obviously and unfortunately, that was not to be. My loss. Glad she is finally entering the R and R Hall of Fame, although I always felt that accolades as such were never really important to her.

  • My all-time favorite singer. Love her more than anything. Lucky enough to see her, with only a piano and a vase of red roses, at Boston's Music Hall in '69 or '70. Laura blessed us all. Thanks for this post.

  • Wow 10,000 hoorah, Much respect, 3assal

  • i think the first time i heard this was a home at the end of the world

  • yay i have been waiting for this on youtube, was amazing.

  • She sings like an angel. R.I.P. angel.

  • even though she pronounces my name the right way and its spelled right,i still like the sharts version.Peace DESIREE

  • this song was originally recorded by the Charts in the 50's. Nice rendition of this song!

  • Coming from Laura Nyro what can i say except im honered.RIP Laura you left us way to early.

  • Thank You! for all those long lonely nites listening to great old music, including this great album.. :)

  • Such an intense, spiritual song rendered by Laura! Years ago I worked at a college radio station and needed a short song and grabbed this to play before the news. It was the first time I'd heard it. You can really feel the love with every note!

  • tokdd3051, Zoe Nicholson was Maria's ex and Laura's intimate friend. Zoe described Laura ''Don't be worried about overemphasizing that Laura lived a woman-identified, goddess-driven existence,'' D Sontag NY Times. In Louise's Church lyrics "Sappho was a poet, Billie was a real musician, Frida drew the moon." Consistent with Zoe's claim that Laura was bi but embracing the radical, feminist lesbian subculture. Season of Lights 1977 Concert Album photos shows her touring with ISIS members

  • to kdd3051-what happened to her??? i guess i could look up her history but thought it would be nice to discuss it here....:-)

  • @kdbgc10 Are you asking what happened to Laura? She passed away in 1997.

  • my name's desiree haha and i feel like i'm being serenaded when i listen to this. it's really pretty.

  • i am now a Nyro fan. heard her music in a Colin Farrell movie and made it my mission to find her. and i agree with Cassadine12....that kinda sad peaceful feeling...u just get locked in on her voice. i wish it was longer too.

  • @kdbgc10 So glad you were able to discover her. I've been a fan since 1969/70 and bought all her albums (still have them). I had the privilege of seeing her perform at the Bushnell theater in Htfd CT in 1972 (we drove in a snow storm). She was beautiful. Just her and a grand piano. When she sang Emmie, I cried. She was taken too soon, but her music will live on, forever.

  • I wish this was longer. Love it

  • 3assal, Major Props and Thanks
