  • I couldn't help but just keep staring at the ref... (>_<)

  • Got to admit. Cung Lee is the bomb! lol

  • man...that dude got whoooped.

  • mong rằng Cungle sẽ sử dụng nhiều võ vieetjnam hơn, nổi lên với võ Thái thì cũng không hay lắm

  • @OhB0ss : cái này là tán thủ chứ Thái nào ? :)) . Theo bạn thế nào là võ vietnam ?

  • Very good performance. There is a lot of volume and intertainment in this clip. I will give 10 of 10.

  • okay so i love cung le and i have a ton of respect for him. but hes fighting a fat guy, is that fat guy like his student or is he sanshou champ? or just some fat guy who also does sanshou?

  • idk y they keep compairing this to other martial arts sanda is awsom

  • Cung Le's no.1

  • Cat plays a rat

  • 2:56 = insanely awesome Kani Basami

  • oh vovinam , kungfu vietnam ! bravo !

  • vovinam is the national martial of vietnam

  • le cung play vovinam

  • cung le í vietnamese

  • Nice techniques on those kicks.

  • is this fixed?

  • That is called a "suplex" and it "does" hurt...HA!!!

  • Chuck Norris & BB gun vs Cung Le & his kicks... and the winner is ???

  • Cungle was a champion in shidokan karate championship using SANSHOU

Cungle was a champion in MMA also using SANSHOU

Cungle was undefeated at IKF using SANSHOU

Cungle was promoting himself as a SANSHOU fighter every times he fight

It is sad that ppl dun see the effectiveness of WUSHU SANSHOU

It is sad that ppl R blinded by the B.S of some promoter for some new M.A

KungFu not just about ring fight, it also hav other types of minor self defences which will make u , errr...

    U know?

    Invinci..

  • @seveneihgt Nobody is truly invincible. There is no man who will still be alive after being shot to death. Kung Fu is Chinese Martial Arts. Hundreds of styles. A lot of them are purely for fitness, and misperceived as combat. Others are for combat, and are highly efficient and lethal. Yet people lump it all together in one group and only see the acrobatics, and the styles that are practiced for 2 hours a week, and they say it sucks. Sanshou is practical, however it could use elbows.

  • @CommanderYuan the misperceived workout your talking about, wouldnt thai chi be a good example?

  • @ThaCVirus Competition WuShu forms mainly. Derived from very very archaic combat forms, watered down and developed for fitness. It's acrobatics, which isn't quite fighting. Tai Chi can be applied to combat but a lot of the programs now are largely for relaxation technique. Not quite self defense, but applications exist. And absolutely, you practice tai chi for 2 hours a week, there isnt much you'd do in a fight except relax your joints.

  • Man, red stripe was suckin some air by the end.

  • good stuff. :]

  • 2 people dislike because they got kicked by Cung Le.

  • @thexphenom8 after being kicked by Cung le i dont think they could type any more

  • @thexphenom8

looks like he kicks 3 more.

  • THAT TUYET VOI

  • the commentator is a bit wrong here, you can grab peoples legs and take them down in muay thai, however only when they have thrown a kick/knee, you cannot take the leg when the foot is touching the floor. you can also throw people from the clinch, however only over the thigh not the hip or shoulder as they do in sanshou

  • shamrock wasnt ever really in the match. kind of a joke. cung le totally dominated.

  • @bigkittysmile

How is that a joke? Shamrock was awesome, got beaten by someone who is also awesome - perhaps more awesome, perhaps just a different stage of career. What is a joke is people who have never stepped into a ring calling a complete champion a joke because of one defeat against another champion.

  • @jezzur thats your opinion. i feel shamrock got wupped hard and should have done better. i have years of martial arts and training experience so wtf are you talking about? how do you know i've never been in the ring? i wouldnt call shamrock a complete champion, but i didn't say he was a joke. he is what he is. at least he has the guts to get in the ring.

  • i went to see him fight in san jose. this guy is for real. chinese kungfu shit no match for him. he was a really good fighter.

  • @khmer2thebone

You do realize that Sanshou is Chinese Freestyle Kickboxing (a combination of different Chinese Kung Fu styles), right? So in essence, they have the same style of fighting, except Cung Le is just so much better at it.

  • that scissor leg take down was SICK!

  • I hate the suggestion that he was in tekken 2010 and he was casting marshall law I wish that he had to be Jin cause Jin has to be more muscular but jin in movie looked like skinny boy an dmarshall who had to be skinner was bigger

  • why didn't they put Cung Le in any of the Mortal Kombat series, i mean, he's got the name and techniques down.

  • Replay at 4:35 is AWSOME!

  • Great Bout...Excellent technique.

  • did anybody else think billy wallace was a little bored? lol

  • GO CUNG LEE VIET PRIDE :D

  • hay wa anh le oi

  • I see, after Kungfu was seen as useless art for use in movie only, Chinese create new art base on Muaythai and add some more technic to it. As it base on the real thing it a real too. You can't look down it. It may be a copycat but how can you create great martial art without base on something that approved as a real thing.

  • @sakda357 Ok... I'd love for u to say this same thing to my Sifu lol all im gonna say is that if u did. it would not end well for u. im pretty sure u havent seen any real traditional Kung Fu. you've probably seen these Wushu guys flipping around or a lot of fakes claiming they do real Kung Fu and getting beat the hell up. Now i will say it is hard to find legit Kung Fu Masters in the U.S. and even China nowadays because there are so many fakes but real Kung Fu is far from useless.

  • @sakda357 Its just most ppl u may have met or seen on youtube are probably the fakes. and fyi San Shou has nothing to do with muay thai lol san shou is just chinese freestyle kickboxing or free fighting with throws from Chinese Wrestling(Shuai Chiao)

  • @sakda357 It's not based on Muay Thai. A lot is based on Choy Lee Fut with the take downs based on Shuai Jiao.

  • DON'T GET ME WRONG !!! I hate San Shou BUT I like and respect Cung Le . He is the Great Fighter . Especially , In UFC , he PROVE that he use ONLY Kicking can defeat many MMA fighters there . He never lost in UFC too ( as I recall ) . Even NOT have or use BJJ he can be succussful , so he is the inspiration for Kickers .

  • @Romus011 You meant Strike Force right. UFC is a different organization. They all held MMA event. Mixed Martial Arts.

  • @Romus011 why dont u like sanshou?

  • @Romus011 your a nub

  • @Romus011 you hate sanshou because you are stuck in your belief that sanshou is a direct copy of muay thai when in reality it is influenced by a bit of everything

  • @wiredtoawall My Hate is BASED from TRUTH that you guys never accept that . Copycat is COPYCAT , I will keep saying that and if any of you try to oppose me I WILL KEEP SAYING IT .

  • @Romus011 no you're a racist at heart, just admit it.

  • @wiredtoawall Racist is NOTHING with Martial Arts , this is nothing about Race , Martial Artists can be ANY Race . BUT , it's about Martial Arts that COPY another , YOU IDIOT !!!

  • @Romus011 you're right Martial arts can be any race, but I know that you hate sanshou because it is Chinese.

  • @wiredtoawall : CHina is a joke but Sanshou rox !

  • @RemyRevy The world is joke my friend, get use to it.

  • @Romus011 you mean adaptation? as brazilian jiu jitsu? or mordent kung fu changed to be able to fight back the Japanese? that's not copy cat, man.

  • @Romus011 every martial arts copied atleast some bit of another there is not a single martial art on the planet at this moment who hasnt

  • @SurfacingChannel Chuck Norris would disagree with that.

  • @Romus011 you'll stop hating it someday.believe me

  • I WON'T BACK HERE ANYMORE . SATISFY YOU GUY ?

  • SEE YOU GUY HERE LOVE SANDA , ISN'T IT ? THEN , STOP BOTHER ME , I WILL GO . I WON'T CHANGE WHAT I THINK OF DAMN SANDA . MUAYTHAI IS GETTING MORE POPULAR YOU CAN STOP IT . GO TO HELL ALL SANDA FANS .

  • 2:56

that scissors take down is sick. At first I thought it looked like a missed side kick but no.

  • Sanda is based on Shuai jiao with all the foot sweeps, tossing, throws, then boxing and a lot of side kicks and spin kicks from kung fu. There is also some Greco/Roman wrestling in the system. Muay Thai is not as flexible. It is more of elbows, knees, shins.

  • San Shou was orignally made from kung fu by the chinese military in the 1900s so it looks like Muay Thai cos it's ment to be effective in a warzone...hence the basic Muay Thai-ish strikes and stance

  • @Tenshiyami13

    Bullshit.

Sport sanda and military sanda are two different things.

    Sanda/sanshou means free fight/free hands.

Even in traditional styles training sparrings are called sanda.

And it`s look like muay thai becouse it is a kickboxing type of combat, not becouse "it's ment to be effective in a warzone".

Stances and strikes in sport sanda are typical for EVERY traditional chinese fighting system...

  • Comment removed

  • his kicks are very accurate

  • mantis application at 3:24

  • he is one of my favourite fighters ever

  • good techniques but you cant knock anyone out with this

  • @YiDog21 It was a demo match, a technical exhibition- of course they weren't going balls-to-the-wall. Competition san shou sees plenty of KOs.

  • @YiDog21 get thrown a couple of times in a row on concrete and youll see :P

  • lol.......the white guy wearing the kung fu outfit

  • I don't know these guys can be so damn technical, it's literally amazing.

  • 4.34-4.36 one of the best take downs..

  • Lol I didnt know he uses Sanshou...

  • question: where is the protective gear? arent competitions in san shou with head and stomach protection?

  • Cung Le is the best baby!! Yeah!!! Great skills, keep it up bro!!!

  • This is like watching the WWE(F) in the early 90's. Two guys going through a series of semi choreographed routines

  • @ShotofHenny no man this is definitely not choreographed...

  • @madzz87

He said SEMI choreographed. Learn to read. What he basically meant was that it's a semi realistic fight. Maybe "choreographed" was the wrong word to describe it, but as I said LEARN to READ and maybe you would have been smart enough to intepret what he meant.

No it's not choreographed at all, but it is an exhibition match which means that it's somewhat like light sparring. Cung's opponent does allow Cung to take him down without resistance though.

  • @poster12345678 ok ok chill the fuck out cung lee lover....go buy some tampons or smthg-looks like its that time of the month 4 u...

  • @madzz87

I don't see anywhere in my last post where I was posting anything that suggests anything that would make me a "Cung Le lover". I think he's a great fighter. That's it./.

Also, you're posting/watching this vid as well, doesn't that make you just the same?

    Moron.

  • he said san shoe...

  • win or lose is not so important. Cung lee got talent.

  • nice vid! i found your video in allroundpoundforpound com

    great job!

  • i'd hate to be his punching bag errrrrr i mean sparing partner.

  • muay thai orignated from sanda sanshou

  • @joymo83 Muay Thai originated from Khmer bokator, Sanshou is a modern hybrid form which developed through wushu sport, it was created by Chinese government.

  • these announcers look like they set up in some basement

  • @erodebucket Underground tunnel near the White House Lol

  • cung lee the profi

  • lol y can people say his last name right?? People r sure dumb, cant even figure out the different between Lee & Le and how to say them right lol

  • V's up!

  • vietnam cung le

  • @xXxBuddha62xXx Really? The Vietnamese are in it's first generation here in America and look how many doctors and business men they have. And on top of that they're already knocking the door of mainstream media. Now imagine what the next generation will accomplish. Good game =]

  • @KidProper

If our country (VIETNAM) no war and no fucking communist : Japan, Korea, China, and all,,,We are not very far from them but....THE BAD GUYS WIN!

  • vietnamese kinda sucks..

  • Viet pride Beitch!

  • @SangTheMarvelous Pho tai

  • cung le is not a chinese .he is a viet namese .chinese don not fight kung fu vs maythai

  • ha ha....i helped put this on in 1998 in santa barbara. i'd love to see more video of this event.

  • san shou is better then muay thai

  • They may add throwing and leg takedown techniques BUT 80-90 % of San Shou are copy from Muay Thai anyway. Asshole !!!!

  • @Romus011 what the fuck how is one martial art copying another? how many fucking martial arts do a straight punch? almost all of them. how many martial arts have a round house kick almost all of them do. how many have jabs, knees, elbows all of them. you cant say one fucking martial art is a copy of another one. that just means taht almost all martial arts are the same. i guess there is no distinction from judo, jiujitsu, wrestling, and sambo because they all have takedowns.

  • @vmntmn This is true, but the techniques are performed differently. If you knew anything about martial arts youd know that.

  • Idiot !!! San Shou is Fucking Copy Cat of Muay Thai . How come Chinese people can be so proud of it ? This is Chinese way , always Copy for anything from Western Product to Muay Thai . There seem have no brain .

They know they can't defeated Muay Thai by Traditional Kung Fu that's why they copy Muay Thai . If their Traditional Kung Fu is great why they have to copy Muay Thai and use against Muay Thai . SHIT !!!

  • @Romus011 yeah i agree totally san shou crap...MT is the real thing!

  • @Romus011 There is ALOT of differences between Traditional Kung Fu and Muay Thai if your not aware. First of all Muay Thai has been adapted into a sport, I repeat, SPORT. From Muay Boran. So you can't really compare Traditional Kung Fu and Muay Thai. Both are great, within certain terms. But you can't compare the two of them when it comes too real combat or contact sports. So you should respect Traditional Kung Fu and Muay Thai for what it is. Peace man

  • @Teemp I agree that nothing to compare between Traditional Kung Fu & Muay Thai BUT Sanshou is NOT traditional it's just created about 30 years ago . So , I don't have to respect Sanshou it's just like a copycat from Muay Thai , this is show why it's very similar to Muay Thai like this video . Then why it must be similar to Muay Thai , the commentiators in video also say that . I respect Traditional Kung Fu like Shaolin or Wu Dang BUT not this Sanshou copycat .

  • @Romus011 I agree. Sanshou is very similiar to Muay Thai, but when it comes too Sanshou, the chinese government wanted a sport to call their "own" So when it was new or under development, alot of Muay Thai was probably added or or copied straight too Sanshou. We could speculate, but, I am not here to discuss conspiration theory's. Besides I think Sanshou is a great sport. But what people respect is ofcourse individual. But I still respect martial arts, and chinese martial arts in general. Peace

  • @Romus011 WEll Shanshou isn't a copy cat of Muay Thai. the traps and throws are from traditional kung fu, as with the basic kicks and punches (which does have boxing influence due to the gloves they use). the thing is that traditional Muay thai is a lot different than sport muay thai, once a martial arts is applied with rules as a sport, there will be certain restrictions and the art becomes similar due to those similar rules. I hope you understand what I mean.

  • @Romus, Sanshou is created from various traditional martial arts. You seriously give Chinese communist govt too much credit if you say they create awesome sanshou. They are not THAT good. What they did was merely to call traditional martial art experts and get these maters to start a sport version of kungfu. But the root is clearly kungfu. Suaijiao and Baji for throwing, coy lu fut for boxing, wing chun for 1 inch hits and center focus etc etc. Even the sidekicks are clearly kungfu.

  • @Ultra1980 False

  • @Romus011 And the last great evolution in Muay Thai technique was the improvement of their hands from the 1960s to the present, the vast majority of which was wholeheartedly stolen from Western boxing. What's your point? Everyone steals functional elements from everyone else.

  • @ooogooman It's NOT the stolen from Western Boxing , You idiot !!! Muay That is come from Ancient Warfare . You know Muay Boran ( Ancient Muay Thai ) ? We didn't stole from anyone , Muay Thai's Kicking , Punching and Knee also Elbow is our own . We just modernize Muay Thai by using glove and ring like Boxing . BUT , that's NOT stealing . Muay Boran is quite deadly so we just make it more like modern fighting sport . Muay Thai Techniques are our own ,go to check history before you said IDIOT !!!

  • @Romus011 I have gone to check history- specifically, footage of Muay Thai matches from the 60s to the modern era. Early MT matches have the full spectrum of modern clinchwork, knees, elbows, and kicks but punching that's very rudimentary by modern standards, usually only one or two straight shots or a looping haymaker. Modern MT matches show great improvement in the technical quality of their punching. What element of Muay Boran was integrated into MT since the 60s to create that improvement?

  • @ooogooman Almost everything in Muay Boran is integrate in Muay Thai . They might not include special techniques like Mae Mai or Luk Mai . BUT , Punch , Kick , Knee and Elbow in Muay Thai come from Muay Boran . Those technique are already in Muay Boran , They just change from bonded hands to boxing glove also some of Boxing hand technique . WE DID NOT STOLE FROM ANYONE !!! We just apply some modern boxing element into it for A BIT and the most port are our own . SHIT !!!

  • @Romus011 So if Muay Thai can incorporate 'some of Boxing hand technique' and 'some modern boxing element', then why can't San Shou do the same with Muay Thai techniques without you getting angry about it?

  • @ooogooman I will tell you something . Sanshou use some element of modern boxing . BUT , the techniques are TOO MUCH like Muay Thai like Kicking ( I have seen in HUMAN WEAPON , ever watch that ? ) and sometime they even wear the shot that mark " Muay Thai " in spite of they are NOT Muay Thai . Boxing and Muay Thai is more application because they are much different , we also use kick , elbow , knee . BUT , in Traditional Kung Fu didn't have knee elbow and knee before .

  • @ooogooman So I can say Sanshou is a stealing from Muay Thai anyway and it also created to destroy Muay Thai as well . They use throwing while Muay Thai never have . If their Kung Fu is already great there is NO reason to create Sanshou . It can sometime create the CONFUSION to Muay Thai in the world since they are TOO SIMILAR . Muay Thai use some elements from Boxing BUT Saushou is more like a copycat . They take almost everything and make their own. Chinese always good at that in everything .

  • @Romus011 Muay Thai does use throws, just not judo style hooking sweeps or lifting like in san shou. MT throws from the clinch involve throwing them off balance and sweeps from the front (not hooks from behind the leg).

  • @snark83 San Shou uses throws from and sweeps from Shuai Chiao. The Japanese were inspired by Shuai Chiao and created Judo afterwards

  • @Romus011 you just contradicted yourself because you said it was okay for muay thai to use boxing technique but somehow it is not okay for sanshou to use muay thai technique. You said it, not me

  • @wiredtoawall I will tell you San Shou can sometime create the CONFUSION to Muay Thai in the world since they are TOO SIMILAR . Muay Thai use some elements from Boxing BUT Saushou is more like a copycat . Muay Thai and Boxing are very much different . Boxing use Punch while Muay Thai use Punch , Kick , Knee and Elbow . Sanshou use the similar punch and kick very like Muay Thai , similar shorts sometime they even use Muay Thai Short .

  • @Romus011 how do you know that sanshou is a copy? Sanshou fighters very rarely use knee strkes or elbow strikes. Also, they attack at a longer range than muay thai fighters. They are quite different when actually used. Plus, who gives a shit what kind of shorts they wear.

  • @wiredtoawall The Stance , Guard and Kicks are like Muay Thai . Some San Shou in China use Thai Shorts to wear even marked Muay Thai . You might not found that in America .

  • @Romus011 kicks are more karate to me

  • @wiredtoawall When you look in the Match is almost the same as Muay Thai in everything . And , think of that Chinese Kung Fu never has this kind of fighting before even wearing Glove , Short and Fight in ring . And where the HELL they come from if NOT Muay Thai ?

  • @Romus011 gloves come from western boxing. shorts come from western boxing. but stance is crane stance

  • @Romus011 so according to you, it is wrong for ppl around the world to wear a pair of pants because pants originated from the west. Get real, people copy certain elements of something successful but change it so that it works for themselves

  • @Romus011 the whole of muay thai is stolen from khmer boxing(Cambodian boxing) so don't think it' very wise to call san shou the 'copy cat'. again many asian styles come from traditonal indo-chinese syles so saying MTis the only system/art to use elbows and knees is very lowlife. try looking at myannamar lethwei or khmer boxing.

  • @zoheb8765 We have our own Muay NOT Khmer . And , San Shou is just SHIT it's create just 40 years so it can be just copycat .

  • @Romus011

actaully its just Gungfu adapted to kickboxing. it highly influenced by Muay Thai. but so what. Sanshou has very kungfu like manauevers. their stances are a little different, they throw their punches like gunfu stylists, and they actaully use more than 2 kicks. MT just happans to be the standard of how to adapt traditional martial arts to a modern kick boxing ring. SS isn't bad, its just modern sport Gung fu. in the ring, SS and MT win and loose about the same. MT is awesome, so is SS

  • @shoulung Really ? Umm........ Yes , Muay Thai may be a base or standard for San Shou like you said . I would say that AMONG Kung Fu , San Shou is far better A LOT than traditional Kung Fu , more practical and it's a Ring Sport quite modern .

  • @Romus011

you can't compare all types of kung fu to sanshou. not all kung fu is designed for the ring, and that's okay. some are designed for physical health, some are designed to be an art form, some are designed for self defense, and yes, some are designed for ring sport. you're basing the idea of practicality entirely on ring sport. not all forms of kung fu are made for the ring. if you want to do ring sport, then awesome, but don't discredit something you know nothing about.

  • @shoulung This is what I thought and what I like . I didn't discredit . It's my own view , other Kung fu are nothing and useless . Yes , It may be some for good health like Tai Chi . Or bealutiful perform like Wu Shu . Different style with different purposes . AND , It my own right to say it .

  • @Romus011, Sanshou is the mix between different Kung Fu styles.

It's true most of the Kung Fu, that you watch in Chinese New Year and the old Chinese movies are fake, no competition.

The Chinese Gov.develops fighting style basing in Kung Fu techniques; that will function in a real fight.

    Called San Shou.

There were pretty other use for a real fight like Tang Sang, Wing Chun, Chi Na, etc... but this were for personal defense, not for the competition level.

  • @wolfofstorm Yes , that why people say Traditional Kung Fu for Health and Body . Self Defense may be BUT mostly Health . Even the old people can do it or defense themself too .

  • @ooogooman Boxing style shorts also another thing apply from Boxing .

  • scissor kick take down was sick

  • you know cung is a true vietnamese with that clean ass hair cut

  • wow wwa wwa

  • y the hell is the white guy dressed as a monk...

  • Cool fight but way too much takedown, it's in the rules but come on it's not pro wrestling...

  • @Sirhion84 look at any san shou video and you see this many take downs if not more. this isnt pro wrestling this is san shou

  • i wish cung was 28

  • Cung Le is nowhere near the best, just so we're all clear on that.

  • @stnen youre retarded,

  • @stnen No disrespect meant ....but I definately disagree..

  • @stnen stfu pussy

  • to good

  • fucking legend man

  • i think we faith in the same competicion en 1997 roma...you 70 or 75 kg and i in 60....i am from roumania...All my best..

  • i mean individual has their own styles, but in term styles as in art is not perfect like wrestling, brazilian jiu jutsu, muay thai, boxing, taewkondo, etc, etc

  • WTF was 2:57???

  • @dannyboyster scissor kick takedown

  • i wanna kill those fucking announcers, sound like a bunch of fuckasses who know nothing about anything except boxing. fail

  • Cung Le need some of Manny Pacquaio speed and power!!!

  • @HungKiet What da hell r u talking about!!! Pacquiao is is Lightweight (around 135) and Cung Le is about 185... want more power than that??? lolz

  • @HungKiet fuck that boxer, AND FUCK BOXING. why in a fight would you only use your hands????

  • @Aldaan3333 When you train your fists so much that they can punch the lights out of anyone, boxing is a great sport. But agreed, no one should be thinking that a fight will be only on your feet with only fists. But for the other guy, a boxer is the LAST type of fighter you want to get punched by.

  • lol, the commentators at 3:42

  • LMAO he calls it a "sue flay" instead of a "sue play" (actually spelled suplex)

    food haha

  • at 6:48 the opponent says, here take my leg.. now take me down. damn. i kinda feel sorry for him.

  • is cung le really that awesome? damn those are some nice takedowns. or maybe the opponent just sucks.

  • lol i agree with your question... but this is a demonstration...

  • @rockytabs try some xd!

  • basically mma....

  • What's with the dramatic lighting on the audience guy at 6:15. LOL, it's like the Golden Child Van Damme...

  • at 5:39 his student manages to actually take him down. 5:51 is Cung Le's revenge.
