  • Ah ford synthetic oil in a toyota!

  • @Gasser4x4 it is great oil , and actually beats the service rating toyota calls for , I also run rotella diesel oil in my big block ford gasser too , it's not the name on the bottle , it's whats in the bottle lol

  • @towrecker Very true! i heard napa's oil is valvoline

  • Scion is Toyota?

  • @HareiH yes , it is the is the middle price range car , you know toyota ,scion , lexus ...

  • @towrecker Ouh okay cool, the engine is still Toyota's right.

  • @HareiH yes it is the same 2.4 used in the rav4

  • YOU forgot A Huge step! You forgot to put your dip pan plug back in...I mean it's self explanatory but for those who don't know.

  • @submissions72 if they forget that , I really feel sorry for them ...more so for their car ha ha ha

  • great job there Ricky booby! hehe Thanks thumbs up!

  • You sound like ricky bobby lol

  • in both of your videos for the tc oil change, you didnt fill the filter with oil. are you not suppose to or is it something you dont need to do?

  • @xXWOND3RBR3ADXx watched the rest of the vid. thanks

  • @xXWOND3RBR3ADXx some do some don't , toyota calls for a dry filter , these cars have to show oil pressure before they will start , if they loose oil pressure they cut off , it's a safety feature , the sensor is past the filter in the oil circuit so it has to fill the filter before it will start , there are lots of cars you can not fill the filter because of how they set on the engine , so you can do either way with no harm , just bump the starter a few times before you start it on an those

  • How much will charge me i drive to you to get a service done from you? Will be driving from Birmingham England only across the pond lol

One hell of a mechanic! Good job

Do you look up on Google to reset service lights too?

It is cheaper than Main dealers

  • Great job--> thank you from Australia :-)

  • @oohwah1970 well thanks ,back at ya down under mate;-)

  • @whatitis99 2.4 L 100% for sure ...that's what they have always had , till 2011

  • @towrecker Yeah, sorry about that I looked it up after I posted that and seen that they used the 2.4L in the Scion TC until they went to the 2.5L in 2011. I have a 2010 Toyota RAV4 and it has the 2.5L. They started using the 2.5L in the RAV4 in 2009

  • @whatitis99 most people have a hard time thinking that they have an engine that large in them in the first place too lol

  • Thanks for putting in the time for the vid.

  • interesting

  • A lot of people forget or just dont check the fluid levels on their batteries........ costs them a battery. I didnt see the part when you drop the oil filter in the drain pan giving yourself an oil bath...... loosing the drain plug in the oil... LOL. Done it a once or twice. My oil filter is sideways right above the flex section on the exhaust. One drip of oil and you smell it for many miles.....

  • @More350Power use a piece of flashing , cut to size over the flex pipe , when you change the oil , and I actually dropped neither of them lol

  • @towrecker I got some tin left over from my furnace I just installed.......ill have to give it a try

  • I used to have a ton of those Toyota drain plug gaskets. Ya.. Document oil changes because they sludge up and we used to tell them to take a hike when the owner could not prove that oil changes. I would not change oil every 5,000. These engines get dirty quick with sludge w/ 5,000 miles on the oil.. Maybe synthetic would prevent that.

  • @ghtowagon well I don't really drive it much , it will will be a change it every 6 months deal , with maybe 2k on the oil , but doubt that much lol , and that synthetic blend motorcraft oil keeps an engine clean as a pen on the inside , and I have seen several very high mileage engines that have run that since day one , so it must be doing something right , and it is priced good too lol , but price is just a bonus , with oil , good stuff is more important than $ , but this is a win win lol

  • @ghtowagon and I so need to fetch that dang tag from my SS I had and see if you want it , dang I can't ever remember to get it when I am at my folks lol

  • I want to ask what's the different between the K'N air filters to the Fram air filters and when should you change the air filter? What oil filters do you use on this car?

  • @SolonicToyota1991 k&n air filters flow more air , with less restriction , k&n oil filters are junk , by the way , they flow more oil with less restriction , that means less filtering of the oil too , as for filters I will use the toyota filter till the warranty is up , and wix after that , also the toyota filter is made by wix , they are marked on the inside wix , I always cut my filters open , just something that stuck with me from drag racing lol

  • @towrecker O, thanks for the information. Interesting i know that Napa oil filters are made by Wix, I didn't know that Toyota's oil filters are made by Wix.

  • @SolonicToyota1991 I never knew that toyota filters were either , till I cut one about a year ago , and just happed to see the mark lol...and only the napa gold is a wix , the cheaper filter napa sales is a fram built job , all learned from cutting them open lol

  • @towrecker O, do you mean the Napa Select? I bought one of those last time, i thought they were made by wix also?

  • @SolonicToyota1991 I have not shopped at napa in years , they used to be the gold , and the silver , I believe lol , heck can't remember , I just know napa sales alot of JUNK really , and it's over priced too

  • @SolonicToyota1991 by the way never use a fram filter , that's the orange can of death !!! the filter media is crap , doesn't filter well , and will break up , and wash out into the engine , they have killed a many engine over the years ...

  • @towrecker O, i knew the Fram oil filters were bad already and they were just made of paper and they aren't even glued together anymore. From looking at the filter it was bad quality already.

  • I'heard a picture is worth a thousand words, well I guess a video is a fortune ha ha!

  • @speedy75602 well it works well as instructions , and also , let toyota tell me I did not change the oil lol , I dare them lol

  • I change my oil every 3,000 miles wheather it needs it or not, and i ONLY use Mobil 1 and put in Lucas addative for the top end to stay lubed up for the cold starts in the mornings. Big fan of the K&N air filters too. keep mine cleaned out every 5,000 even though the reccomendation is every 10,000 because there's a lot of dust around here so better to be safe than sorry. for the filter wrench i have a set of pliers that are made just for filters didn't show putting the plug back in it!

  • @daddytech well I like the cap wrenches , you can put that last snug on a filter without denting , or scratching it lol...did I edit out the plug install lol....well if anyone is dumb enough to remove it , and not put it back , they could not even get the car jacked up lol so no worries :)

  • @towrecker only said what i did about the oil plug because there have been a couple times when i was in a hurry to get it done that i for got the plug and went an poured a quart in before i realized i forgot it lol that's the only reason the oil plug being edited out was important to me personally , lol

  • @daddytech well with me thats why I do what I do with the dip stick lol

  • @towrecker lol yeah i have gotten to where i don't even get out from under the truck till i have double checked everything and it's all buttoned up under there.

  • you should do a driving video of that car

  • @truckguy454ss I don't drive it much , but I will before long , a driving video might not be so easy in that car , as it is a 5 speed...
