Dogs don't brush their teeth (obviously) so think of all the bacteria build up in he plaque in their teeth, not mention dogs are always messing around, eating bugs, licking their private bits, and sometimes my dog would come across cat shit or even its own shit and have a feed.
I would just keep the dogs mouth away from the baby's mouth, that is all.

It's nice to see a parent's that are willing to keep their pets around a baby. I've seen way too many parents just throw their pets out like trash as soon as the baby comes.

I have a Jack that's extremely ill, and I could have put her down long time ago, but somewhere in there is still some willingness to live. Im going to follow thru because I made that commitment. If you can't handle it, don't get one to begin with.
The opposite is in fact true. Babies born into homes with dogs are less allergic to most everything. Are more immune to asthma and certain skin diseases.
@ArtivistFilmFestival The dogs licks are surprisingly beneficial to the babys immune system & dogs tongues actually have less bacteria than the average human mouth ^_^ so I wouldnt worry :)
