Fix your own computer and avoid crazy costs for one price, learn to setup wifi, remove viruses with/without software, diagnose hardware PC components, facory resets and remove windows passwords adn much more!!!:
Anyone that comes to your house to repair your computer isn't just a tech but also a sales person, more so a sales person since he/she will get beat up for not selling enough services for that month. So he want to rape them on a virus removal that didn't exsist, nothing out of the norm there. Bastards! (I am a certified tech I know the game it is just awful and thus I don't work in retail anymore)
I've lost sooo many jobs because I refuse to be dishonest like this. Once worked for a company where on the off-time the guy was making me build... $30 computers with Pentium 2's, and putting them in new cases, telling me to throw in 2 Dial-Up Modems (this was in a small town, so Dial-Up was prominent) and selling it to people for $1000+ telling them that 2 dial up modems made it run faster... needless to say, when I found out, I told him I was done, and to keep the change.
@mbe102 Same.. I remember working at a local retailer in Australia and they were doing pretty much the same thing.. selling low-end computers at high-end prices. Never saw any repair "fraud" stuff like this but I am not surprised in the least that it goes on... this is what happens when people are set sales targets and the like.. quality goes straight out the window so that they don't lose their jobs.
@Plusquevie Ironically enough I got another job as the lead technician elsewhere, a business in my City (Laptop Depot, Edmonton Alberta Canada), and they were far shadier. That and he wasn't even paying me. Haha, I'm just going to start my own damn business. You want something right, do it yourself, no?
@mbe102 its true, do it yourself is best, then you are responsible for your own conscience. big companys like best buy like to use big words and the masquerade of geek squad logos to frighten consumers into believing every word they speak. once i was at best buy and i was viewing my character profile for world of warcraft and they thought i was actually playing the game. thats when i realized that they are just inexperienced salesman, thats all.
@Plusquevie Wow haha. yeah I once went into Futureshop, here in Canada, and these folks couldn't find anyone to help them, they were looking at routers for a wireless home network set up. But because no one would make commission, they kind of avoided them like the plague, and they couldn't find anyone. So I went up, talked to them, and helped them out. Was pathetic. and at the conscience thing, that's the only reason I'd be happy to do it, I'm okay with my morals haha.
this is why I know how a computer works and how to fix it to prevent money taking so called technicians f*cking up my computer even more so they can take more of my money
wow that is soo messed up it aint even funny. i better not have problems with my computer and if i did i will not go to best buy! that is just fkn retarded, no joke! if someone is trying to mooch that much off me for anyone reason, will would not hestitate to maul his fkn face off!
this is awsome. maybe i should become a computer repair technician imagine how much money you can make by selling people new hardware. and yes they might need it or not i would atleast give them something they would feel them selfs pleased about and which is alot better then they had. is this scamming? no i dont think so it rather is the work of a good salesman

@mbe102 good job, some people get really mad about being screwed over and react with violence, you are smart for getting out of that shit.
