  • must be the engine out of the BMW Hydrogen 7 , its there normal gas eating 4.6? litre in theyre 7 series line..

Nothing special about it, no electropnic injection = run any engine on hydrogen, or 2 parts hydrogen 1 part oxygen (HHO)

yep runs off a liquid hydrogen tank, as in uncompress's from a liquid to a gas.. only prob is whe hydrogen hits oxygen it starts turning to water..

stainless exaust a must ppl :-)

  • it looks like m70b50 engine from e32 and e31 :D

  • Its the same V12 that comes in the standard 760li that has just been altered.

  • why not just revolutionize the whole engine its kind of dumb

if the speed limit is 70 why just not make a car that goes up to 70

the engine only does little work the trans is the one that converts the power.

  • WOOOOW DAZ IZ ZOOOO INKREIBLLLEEEE SCHAIISSSAAAAAAAA

  • A label on it said "FOR DISPLAYIN PURPOSES ONLY - DEVELOPMENT IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN BY LAW"

  • how much will one of these cost???

  • bmw created the best hydrogen car in my opinion.. the engine can run on Hydrogen and fuel as well.. you can change from hydrogen to fuel at any time even wile you riding. A push of a button. its main sours is hydrogen but if you run out and there is no hydrogen gas station around you can switch to fuel.. Call'd BMW H7, you should check it out///

  • You need electricity to strip hydrogen gas from water in the first place, it is better just to skip this step altogether, (not to mention the dangers of having your hydrogen gas tank explode). Awesome electric cars already exist! check out the Tesla Roadster

  • @PaladinPK The Tesla costs over 100 thousand USD and has a top speed of 125mph and a max range of 245 miles. No thanks. On the other hand, virtually any internal combustion engine can be converted to run on hydrogen, which can be stored as a hydride (not explosive) and transferred to the vehicle much more quickly than recharging the battery. Use a clean energy source for your electrolysis and you've got a much better zero emission implementation.

  • @screwzloos Better how? Fuel costs are higher and the fuel production is less efficient.

  • @idontcare80 Lol... Stupid man is stupid.

  • @MadBullBunny How so?

  • NAZI power!!!!!!!

  • Engine looks like an M70 (from a 750i, 850i)

  • agree 100%

  • waht about mix natrual gas with hydrogen. is that a posobilty.

  • @zech007 thats becuase it probly is lol....you could easily convert your car engine right now to run on hydrogen

  • long live the ICE. fuck electric cars, fuck everything else. ICE is the way to go, no matter how old the technology is.

  • weelll even if it is ice it will stiil have a reactrion. the colder the solution the slower it reacts. why not just say water.

  • you can make a HHO engine diy its pretty easy and it can run completely on HHO all you need is a transformer coming from the battery and connect it to the gas pedal so when you press the pedal the transformer sends more electricity to the wet cell battery thus producing more hydrogen and sending more to the combustion chamber to make it move faster

  • that sounds far fetched. explain it differently if you could please.

  • does H2 burn like gas???? and does it make the same noise!!!

  • @ViperVenomACR

Yeah...but the sound of hydrogen burning has more grunt to it, because hydrogen tends to burn very very quickly.

  • Is that the new BMW museum in munich ?

    i was there :D

  • Not really. It's Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum in Munich.

  • Fucking AWESOME.

    thats badass.

    (the name)

    (well and the engine too)

  • Slap a BMW logo on an engine and you get this video. Anyone else annoyed how we are trying to build an equal utopian world? If we ever do it will just crumble.

  • thats going to cost a million

  • its a normal engine only slightly modified, search mythbusters and hydrogen. The key is getting enough hydrogen to run it. Now there are many good prototypes around, there is nothing yet to over come more then 50% or more hydrogen to gas ratio. Gas is always needed in the videos, however if one comes up with something like Stan Meyers system then there might be something worth looking into and the main compound coming for the tail pipe?!?! would be water.

  • that was good................................

  • Well hell now just slap some HHO generators in your car and you havea car that runs purely on water and baking soda

  • you think the weather is bad now..just wait

  • wow, it looks just like a conventional ICE, who would have thought?

  • it can run on gasoline as well- a 'hybrid' of sorts

  • Isnt it funny how with all these alternatives to fossil fuel burning engines, many of which are simply amazing, there is always some negative fuckhead who tries to avoid at least partial responsibility by pointing their fat finger, or has a reason why these alternatives wont "realistically" help in reducing CO2 levels in the atmosphere according to their own convoluted justifications for being a selfish fuck.

  • What we need to do is find out how to use the cO2 already in the air. or what ever...

  • yea, its called photosynthesis- which is VERY complex. Other than that, I haven't heard of anything

  • I also purpose, all the world nation's collaborate on a giant industrial space solar collector. The energy then can be sent back to earth, there are a few problems to over come, but it is completely feasible and proven possible.

  • molten carbonate fuel cells consume CO2

  • these arent gonna help the ozone its just gonna stop from c02 pollution and its not the cars that are doing the damage its the factories cars make up for less then 1% of c02 pollution its the factories that make up 95% other 4 is of many different things, like gas fissures in the ground that open up like a blister and similar to propane these gases rise up through the water and into the atmosphere all of this is from warming of the ground ofcourse wich links back to global warming, factories...

  • Where the hell do you get your statistics?

  • hydrogen power= water vapor emissions

    ZERO CARBON EMMISIONS

  • To Stuntmasta, wouldnt a hydrogen engin aid in the atmoshear? It creates ions as well as hydrogen and oxygen, hydrogen excapes the atmospear, higher oxegen levels would be better for us, and the ions should help repair the ozone layers should they not?

  • Some how I get the impression that the Christians think that Jesus is coming back in 2012 to clean up the world's polution and provide us with Republican accepted environmentally friendly energy systems. Has anyone else heard this stuff before?

  • i have a friend who is preparing for the end of the world in 2012...although i have watched a lot of vids on this with him and even though the current global status sickens me i must admit i am not convinced. he just spent $3000 or food and water packs for his bunker, LOL!

  • After the 2012 new years eve bash stop by your friends bunker and offer him some left over booze and invite him back to the world of the of the living. Tell him all the ancient curses have now passed and man can now continue working without distractions on the real doomsday caused by over population and global warming. This is the one that his bunker won't save him from because it's a gradual end that no one realizes because they're all waiting for Jesus and being wastful.

  • it dos not mater any more the world is going

to end in 2012 then that will be the begining

    of the new world order

  • shut the fuck up you annoying piece of shit!

  • My my, aren't we sensitive.

  • no, kids whos talk like this thinks they can do whatever they want, including kill people, bah bah bah.... and think they can get away with it, since the world is gonna end in 2012 like the idiot said, which is not true, then that year comes than what? yea yea... stfu... (not u)

  • lol

  • lol

  • Laughing here.

The misconception about 2012 is that it is , indeed, the end of a cycle.

Ever wondered how the Mayans and other ancients were able to have a more accurate calendar than the atomic clock? It's down to the cycles that they were aware of.

But the end of the cycle does not mean the end of the world.

Stuff will get interesting though, as 'man' get more self aware, as in" why the fuck do we allow these guys to profit from getting us to blow each other up?"

    Peace.

  • why in 2012 are you getting married in that year? is she bossy

  • hydrogen is cheap, you make it with aluminum foil and bleach (don't try it though!) or get it from water. when you burn in air all you get is water simple chemistry h2 + 0 = h20, emits nothing. and if you get it from water, you get the same amount of water back when you burn it! you can use hydrogen fuel cells, why bother though, you can convert carbs and tanks in existing cars.

  • Steam absorbs more heat than CO2, thus having a negative effect on the environment.

  • steam ? co2 breaks the ozone

  • Greenhouse effect will be larger.

  • why isnt it in a fucking car yet????

  • it is.

  • where? how do i buy one?

  • in germany, and you don't want one. you're looking at a first generation hydrogen prototype that nobody can work on if it breaks down. you're also looking at extremely expensive repairs and maintenance costs, and parts that will be outdated and discontinued in 6 months.

  • Now what?

  • No you twat it's to reduce emissions.

  • Then why do statistics show Hydrogen emits 30% MORE pollution between core electricity usage for production, storage, and distribution via diesel trains & large trucks?

  • How far is Hydrogen into mass production? Nowhere! This is new technology - production of Hydrogen is expensive yes...at the moment! All we should care about is the emissions of the engines that run on Hydrogen...and that is 0! Cheaper production, storage and transport will be developed! Have faith :-P

  • It's going to get real cheap real fast - I'll tell you why. Exxon has their hands in mass HHO production plants, which means Exxon will be regulating HHO costs just like they do fuel costs. This is a LOST CAUSE guys.

  • ... is that a V12? I thought the point of using hydrogen engines was to REDUCE fuel costs. That's like a dollar a mile guys. Sorry, not impressed.

  • yes, it is. Although a "concept" engine, it's a V12, 48 valves Hydrogen/Gasoline engine... said that, hydrogen is more powerful than gasoline when burned... I wander what the hell of a power could that thing bring on the wheels... Obviously, Bmw made it so they can say "if we made such a thing, we could also make anything lower".

  • HHO burns at 35% BTU over gasoline, it's 2/3 less powerful, especially when it heats up. and, since compressing a gas naturally heats it... the power potential is extremely limited. Hydrogen power is a step backwards in automotive propulsion.

  • yes, I just watched another video here on youtube where they take a ride in the series7 bmw (equipped with this engine). Why they always say that hydrogen is more powerful than gasoline?

  • That's commonly misinterpreted. Hydrogen is more volatile than gasoline when it's expanding, but it does not produce more power. Petrol can be compressed more and still achieve rapid combustion, wherein Hydrogen slows down after it's heated by compression. There's benefits to hydrogen power, but not in a standard combustion engine. Combustion engines are ancient; we need to focus our research finding other modes of transport.

  • Yep! that's basically my philosophy: we ran into computer's revolution, microcircuits, mobile phones technology, satellites and... the ic engine still the same as it was first built... ok, they've made it some better, but still always the same 4 pistons running up'n'down ;)

  • Or 12 pistons in this case; which is total overkill. The Mazda rotary HHO engine was a far better idea than this one. Sorry, but germans suck at technological innovation. Well except einstein.

  • How do you justify saying that Germans suck at technological advances when both the rotary engine was developed by Felix Wankel and the first practical four-stroke internal combustion was developed by Nicolaus Otto.(BOTH GERMANS) The other problem I have is that most innovations in the automotive field come from German auto manufacturers.

  • I'm well aware who invented the rotary, that's the reason I used it. Yet however "inventive" it was, it runs dirty - it flopped... there's no reinventing that wheel.

Using Otto's "practical" 4-stroke is comparing apples to oranges. & I take back my comment on Einstein. He invented the atomic bomb, but Enrico Fermi (Italian) invented the nuclear reactor, which is fission's practical use.

The point is, all cultures have contributed inventions, but Germans have yet to produce something reliable.

  • You're looking at roughly 250 WHP with this engine. If you don't believe me, look it up. It's on their website.
