Jerry tell me why not play in 07:58 Rdc1 and when he take the bishop you gonna take his knight your pawn... I think you didn't have to lose your rook.
@sfhdiosha He still could have taken the bishop since his knight would have been protected by the rook. Yes, It isn't as bad as losing a rook, but he still would have been down material.
@bohmana Well, I think that this is the kind of the best move, Jerry himself said "maybe possibly he might be thinking of the move like rook takes..." or something like that. It's blitz :)
not just king's gambit lines either, given that i'm a very low ranked player i also need some pointer on other openings to study that lend themselves to sacrifices and complicated positions, i prefer open tactical games to closed strategic ones so pls any pointer along those lines will be appreciated, also with the game up here u said you were out played but at move 12 or so you predicted that your bishop would bring you the win in the endgame so despite all else you called it from the start.
yeah i got a comment from :13 - 10:44 you showed that u r THE MAN! I love sacrifices, they are in line with the true spirit of the game of chess, pls recommend for me some of your king's gambit lines and games, i am studying on how to be a better attacker but not a capablanca style attacker with spotless positional play but rather a rugged attacker like morphy or tal with sharp tactics and wild intuitive sacrifices, because a well calculated sac is no sac at all, know what i mean?
wow.... you know, sometimes in chess is jut matter of "who´s gonna make the first blunder".... so its true that one bad move can mess your entire game.
@Zelrio28 Hmm...Ya know I didn't take that tactical shot of taking on b6 into consideration. I should have and it might have worked at some point. Good eye! ~¿o =)
I was sure you were going to castle long, and start a king-side pawn storm with black's dark-squared bishop, the usual defender of that structure, already out of the game. The black pawn on e4 looked unconfortable, blocking your fpawn for the moment, but even a minority attack with the g and h pawns supported by your rooks looked good.... And yes, getting control of the a1-h8 diagonal with your queen was definitely a good plan, but may have been easier with some king-side pressure to help...
Ok am having a problem understanding a selfmate in chess! I Know in a stalemate, the person that cannot make a possible move wins! But, What Happens in a self mate, does white win if it force black to mate it? I am beyond confused, really don't understand! Mind sharing info or some insight on the subject?
Hi i tend to play a bit wilder but perhaps thats one of the reasons im a bit behind in rating:)
Anyhow wasnt Qb3 offering queenexchange a little lame. It would be cool if its possible to get something going with Rd3 instead, trying to gain a few tempos on the queen and perhaps bring the rooks to the e and f files. Theres probably some huge drawbacks like leaving your pieces more shattered than ever but im not man enouogh to work it all out:)..
I think you should make another blitz game right now :), This one was awesome, I watched it like 10 times already! Man that was some awesome chess moves!
Well, I was thinking it would have to be best out of 3, since 1 win doesn't really prove shit, because you can get lucky as hell at times, and people make a blunder or two at times= mistakes!
Hell yea ill be organizer, I've just pmed jrobichess, and waiting for his reply! Hopefully he replies within a week or so! This is gonna be a awesome match, probably a million views ++!
I don't know what's more exciting, watching Favre lead his team down the field down 6 with 2 minutes left or watching your vids. You are a very kind and generous person for sharing your wisdom. I hope you live till 100+.
I wanted to eventually move my knight instead of keep him protected. As it turned out. Maybe that was better since the first opportunity I had to move him, he was captured! =)
Thank you! I enjoyed doing it as well. Hopefully you'll get to see a game where someone is just clearly outplayed...either myself OR opponent...instead of luck! =)
Nice. You are the first live commentary after kingscrusher that I found that actually has good diction :) Nice game here too, just goes to show that you shouldn't give up!
Btw I started a channel doing live commentary for the quake game check it out :D
Thank you for the very kind words. I viewed your channel. That's really neat to hear your thoughts as you play Quake. I must admit, I've been out of the video game loop for some time. I haven't been at it in forever. Namely since Goldeneye 007 for N64!! =)
Ah, me and a buddy used to play that all the time, memories... (Not sure if it was N64 or PC or something else, but the goldeneye game engine was ahead of its time)
I enjoyed your Kasparov vs Sting commentary. The other ones are excellent also. It gives great insight. Esoteric games like that with master commentary are both informative and entertaining!
Wow! Tose 5-min. games are just looney-quick as far as I'm concerned :D Now I know for real why my instinct was good never to take one up! :DD
But they are absolutely great to watch for a novice player like me -- the kind of spur-of-the-moment tactics you employ there would have been a rather elevated sort of strategy for me :)

@varmman IF 1. Re1 Nf2+ 2. Kg1 Nh3+ (double check so the king has to move)
If king goes to f1 then it's an easy mate, Qf2#; if not, you'll end up with a beautiful smothered mate: 3.Kh1 Qg1+ 4. Rxg1 Nf2#

First you took him out of all KID lines known to humanity from the get go-
Then you were able to think faster than him and the hero won in the end.
Less "lucky" than "able to think more on your feet than the opponent" which is key in 5/0 obviously.
Great game for us spectators.
