Why? He (GS) was simply pointing out the fact (and he was proven correct) that right wing born again conservative Christians DO NOT see the LDS movement as a fellow christian church. He never said a thing about Romney's church membership affecting his ability to be president, only that it might (and did) effect his ability to be elected. And for clarification, just as we (yes, I'm LDS) believe that Jesus visited both Israel and the Americas after his resurrection, be believe (as is my understanding) that he will visit both during the Second Coming, making Romney correct about [i]his own religious beliefs[/i]. Not everything is known about the Second Coming, and much of what is known is as much speculation as doctrine anyway.
