In the beginning, there were like 4 or 5 good dubstep artists.who created their own genre of music by being creative visionaries. The likes of Skream, Digital Mystikz, Plastician, Kode9,etc. These guys were the pioneers experimenting with new sounds and styles, branching out & expanding musical horizons by combining elements of different music into something beautiful and unique.
Then.. all of a sudden flash forward to 2008-9, thousand clones,just abusing the F*CK out of tht BASS DrOP bullshit.
@ZoomZip theres more influences from different generes of music that evolved to make "dubstep", this yes is quite original but check out digital mystikz, skream, benga etc.

@jjoeshaw everyone has there own musical tastes. My favorite band is Phish. On my way home from work I listened to Yonder Mountain String Band and Leftover Salmon. In the shower I listened to Wu-Tang Clan. While I was getting dressed I listened to Peter Tosh. I ate some dinner while listening to a playlist I made of Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, and The Allman Brothers Band. Now Im on the computer listening to Kode9. If you were a true fan of music, it would all sound beautiful too you...

@jjoeshaw well that's because that's exactly what it is...a form of drum & bass music mixed with reggae dub, and the best part about the "clip of someone talking" is that it is Lee "Scratch" Perry (famous for being one of the first producers of reggae dub music and one of The Wailer's most famous producers) using an old form of Rastafari Movement poetry called "dread poetry" during an interview for The Wire in 1984. Pretty cool if you look at the BIG PICTURE, my friend.

@Jarpua Cool :) We kinda have the same taste and outlook on MUSIC. It shouldn't have boundaries. I'm a big jazz fan. And today i've been listening Kode9, DJ KRUSH, Prodigy, Soundtrack of the cartoon Fantasia, and the punk band Black Flag. Who the fuck cares what genre it is. Its all good.

I'm a big jazz fan too man, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Art Tatum, Dizzy Gillespie, the "cool" blue man himself Johnny Coltrane, and who could forget about Louis Armstrong, or the beautiful belting voice of Billie Holiday. I love all music. Except for some reason I have a hard time getting into this new "hardcore" genre. I enjoy the breakdowns, and I love heavy metal music, and punk, but I can't understand what they are screaming. That's by far my only complaint, haha.

@Jarpua LOL! Yeah i don't really understand it either. i remember i was in an experimental metal band and lots of people told us we were similar to Neurosis, Tool, Burning Witch and stuff like that. Kinda strange we always had gigs with them "Metalcore-Deathcore"-crap. Ever heard of these kids called Bring me the horizon? Why do people like it? I just don't understand cause when you hear "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday its far more terrifying then any death-metal band on the planet.

@Jarpua BTW all these jazz musicians you mentioned are so so good. Ever heard of John Zorns' Naked City? Monk is also great and Charlie Parker is probly my all time favorite, but Bitches Brew is THE jazz album for me. I still don't get it but i know i love it :) If you listen to that Miles album it seems like a giant LSD-trip.
