This was her first time. She seems to be a natural. Only thing is, in order to be able to take part in competitions, the dogs have to have passed an obedience exam. Talia is very well mannered, but she would need to remain in the down position with me being 30 meters away turning my back on her. Then other dogs and other people will cross between me and her. She would have to lie still for 5 minutes which is a looooooooong time for a beagle. We are working on it. As for our agility lessons:
Oh yes, those poles are NASTY! I don't like them and Talia doesn't either. It's a pain to get a dog to do it right... Some catch on right away, but Talia doesn't know WHAT in the world I want her to do...
Thanks!!! Yes she is a sweetheart but VERY stubborn at times... A true beagle ;-) The breeder named her Thalia, I also ABSOLUTELY LOVE the name, but I dropped the "h," thinking this looks better ;-)))
Thanks!!! Talia truly is a natural. The trainer suggested that she could be very successful at competitions. For me, it was a painful lesson. I saw myself running like a frog or something clumsy like it, pulling my pants up (a really BAD habit) and so on. However, I'd rather see it and feel bad than NOT see it and keep on like that ;-)
