@mrflanigan33/ UT has overpriced their tickets and required donation. The demand is less than supply, they raised ticket prices during a recession and a lot of people didn't renew their tickets. And as you know, we won't be good for another 10 years. Dooley wasn't successful in a small program, he is just there to get the NCAA off our backs, like Shula was at Alabama.

Our society has created the illusion that if you don't agree with stupidity you automatically hate something. I am for the average UT fan, the nucleus of the program. An average fan from Newport can't afford to go to a $500 dollar game for a family of four. $4 gas, $4 cokes, $4 hotdogs so a few people can sit in the skyboxes or TN Terrace. Almost all UT games are Televised and pay per view is only $30 for as many people that you can get in your living room. I started watching games from the Hill
@Hawk6DM , There have been empty sections on the upper levels for the past two years. And empty seats through out the stadium; the seats are so close together we would spread out and you would never know 10 people weren't there. The students now have to pay for tickets after paying their activities fee, they only come to the big games. Are you a season ticket holder?
@Hawk6DM, Hi, just wanted to let you know how the season went. Couldn't give 4 tickets to South Carolina away. I have never seen so many empty seats in my 30 years of going to UT games. We are not Bowl eligible and Vandy should have won their game with us. I will not buy my season tickets next year, tickets are too cheap on the street to invest that much money.

My high school gets to march with the UT band and perform our halftime show at the UT-Buffalo game on October 1st. you all should come out to support us. this is the first time in 60 years that a high school has done this, and the last high school was my high school. you need to look up the Dobyns Bennett Marching Band

As an Oregon fan, I traveled to Knowxville for this years game. What I saw was a great Oregon team, but I also saw a young Tennessee team with enormous potential. Next year, or maybe in two, the Vols are gonna be back near the top of the SEC again. Thanks for the hospitality, Vol's fans, An believe me, as great as the salute is on YouTube, it's even better in person. Hope you guys can come to Eugene soon so we can return the favor.
@seamus1956 I'm a huge UT fan and I was at the Oregon game too. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the Oregon fans I met because in SEC country we normally dont like anyone other than fellow UT fans haha. Its cool to hear opposing fans who enjoy our pregame traditions as much as we do. And Ive heard Autzen stadium can get a bit loud as well itd be awesome to watch a game there.

@RockRampage74 Here are some facts. 1) If USC played UT today we would whip you like a red headed stepchild, 2) If we played you today your women would be so mesmerizied with our physical and intellectual prowess they would leave with us and you would have to hump each other, 3) If USC were in the SEC we would have been the EAST Division Champs instead of South Carolina and would have swept the Division, and 4) We would probably have finished second behing Auburn in the WEST.

@alabamaskies Here are the facts and just in from ESPN College Football and how they rank the Top Five NCAA College Football Programs of All-Time: 1) Oklahoma, 2) USC 3) Ohio State 4) Notre Dame and 5) Nebraska. Wow, I don't see an SEC Team in that ranking. ESPN is the flagship for SEC Football yet they understand how shitty your conference is. By the way, we beat UCLA and you lost to AU. The "Salute to the Hill" was started in 1990 when UT alumni approached Band Director Jay Julian and his assistant directors and asked a simple question "if I can get 35,000 people to show up for a band concert will the band perform?" "YES" that year the band gave the first salute. In the band was David Burns from Little Rock, AR. Over the years all David's family had graduated from UT ... including his father Howard Burns, the guy with the idea. Now you know the rest of the story.
Good job UT. I once asked for a flat top haircut in Knoxville... but she gave me a "Rocky Top" instead! I didnt ask for the UT special.

oh my gosh, i used to live in TN, and my son just graduated there in May 2010. These people go crazy over this college. i came from KY in 83, and we sure didn't go crazy over UK, like they do here, people even paint their cars and houses orange and white, lol.
Thanks for this video, I enjoyed it. I am transferring to UT next year and cannot wait. I have talked to the band director and I am going to be marching the the "Pride of the Southland Band" as a tuba player. I am so excited to be a part of this band. I am so ready for school to start next year!
The Tennessee band has always been classy. I remember coming up to Knoxville when Ole Miss would play the Vols, and the Vols would play Forward Rebels during their pregame. Very classy. Although we won in 09, it will be interesting to see how Ole Miss does against the Vols this year.
This is what makes Saturdays in Knoxville so special. Everything about gameday is so awesome. From the Vol Walk, Salute to the Hill, Pregame warmups, the Prides pregame performance, Running through the T, and the game itself. Is their anything better than a Football Saturday in Knoxville, Tennessee. GO VOLS!!!!!!
I`m a proud parent of a member of The Marching Illini. And after watching this how any fan or parent of a member of the U of T marching band can keep it together I don`t know. (I had tears in my eyes.) Outstanding!! I love "Rocky Top".

@crawford371 lane kiffin hasnt done anything dude, did horrible w/the raiders, and had a medicore 7-6 record w/us for one year. got us into so much crap and violations, talked trash, and only stayed for one year. and i hope lane does well w/u guys, i wish him the best. he got us playing better, thankfully, but he is nowhere near the best.....basically lied to us about getting back to national prominence....i hope he does good, but we have a guy w/more class, im mad lane lied to our program!

I am moving to Kingsport, TN in the next two weeks and can't wait till LSU goes to Knoxville in 2011. Hopefully I'll know some Vols fans from work by then and have someone to go to the game with.

@mrflanigan33/ UT has overpriced their tickets and required donation. The demand is less than supply, they raised ticket prices during a recession and a lot of people didn't renew their tickets. And as you know, we won't be good for another 10 years. Dooley wasn't successful in a small program, he is just there to get the NCAA off our backs, like Shula was at Alabama.

Our society has created the illusion that if you don't agree with stupidity you automatically hate something. I am for the average UT fan, the nucleus of the program. An average fan from Newport can't afford to go to a $500 dollar game for a family of four. $4 gas, $4 cokes, $4 hotdogs so a few people can sit in the skyboxes or TN Terrace. Almost all UT games are Televised and pay per view is only $30 for as many people that you can get in your living room. I started watching games from the Hill

And empty seats through out the stadium; the seats are so close together we would spread out and you would never know 10 people weren't there. The students now have to pay for tickets after paying their activities fee, they only come to the big games. Are you a season ticket holder?

We are not Bowl eligible and Vandy should have won their game with us. I will not buy my season tickets next year, tickets are too cheap on the street to invest that much money.

As an Oregon fan, I traveled to Knowxville for this years game. What I saw was a great Oregon team, but I also saw a young Tennessee team with enormous potential. Next year, or maybe in two, the Vols are gonna be back near the top of the SEC again. Thanks for the hospitality, Vol's fans, An believe me, as great as the salute is on YouTube, it's even better in person. Hope you guys can come to Eugene soon so we can return the favor.

I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the Oregon fans I met because in SEC country we normally dont like anyone other than fellow UT fans haha. Its cool to hear opposing fans who enjoy our pregame traditions as much as we do. And Ive heard Autzen stadium can get a bit loud as well itd be awesome to watch a game there.

USC traditionally only plays in the Rose Bowl or the BCS GAME. They are ranked second All-Time by ESPN College Football as the best football program. @RockRampage74 Here are some facts. 1) If USC played UT today we would whip you like a red headed stepchild, 2) If we played you today your women would be so mesmerizied with our physical and intellectual prowess they would leave with us and you would have to hump each other, 3) If USC were in the SEC we would have been the EAST Division Champs instead of South Carolina and would have swept the Division, and 4) We would probably have finished second behing Auburn in the WEST.

The "Salute to the Hill" was started in 1990 when UT alumni approached Band Director Jay Julian and his assistant directors and asked a simple question "if I can get 35,000 people to show up for a band concert will the band perform?" "YES" that year the band gave the first salute. In the band was David Burns from Little Rock, AR. Over the years all David's family had graduated from UT ... including his father Howard Burns, the guy with the idea. Now you know the rest of the story.

The Tennessee band has always been classy. I remember coming up to Knoxville when Ole Miss would play the Vols, and the Vols would play Forward Rebels during their pregame. Very classy. Although we won in 09, it will be interesting to see how Ole Miss does against the Vols this year.

I'm a Gator fan to the end, but I must admit that Rocky Top is prob my favorite fight song. And this video shows why the college atmosphere will always be better than the pros

I bleed purple & gold. GEAUX TIGERS!!! But other than LSU's "pregame salute," Texas' "Eyes of Texas," Rocky Top ranks right up there at the top. I am moving to Kingsport, TN in the next two weeks and can't wait till LSU goes to Knoxville in 2011. Hopefully I'll know some Vols fans from work by then and have someone to go to the game with.
