  • i felt like this was advertising bipolarity

  • Good video but you should really put a warning at the beginning that it may trigger.

  • THE ONLY CURE FOR THIS is meditation and NOT medication

but the down side for some is that meditation will only work

if no alcohol/drugs/ and no watchin t.v. or listing to music is involved at anytime & day until cured

the upside is that meditation can be done with your eyes open

the process can take about 6 /12 months but improvement will be seen after 3 months

if you dont have the time for this, then put yourself in prison

jail will give you all the time in the world for this

  • I bet of the 46,115 people who have watched this...44,117 are bipolar...and this is how I worked it out...

  • so fucking what like I'm not that much of a sane person the trick is to have fun with it play with your madness XD

  • @Zangetseu fucking nerd....

  • i have fun with my bipolar. im an educated hobo. seen many many things and met all sorts of people on my impulsive travels. =)

  • yes bipolar is real, yes it is a chemical imbalance. accept the fact its spelled accept, except you expect its spelled except. also know there is others that feel the same way you do (that helps me sometimes)

  • I do not have bipolar though I do suffer moderate depression and my mood does change... so who knows what I have! I get small bursts of energy sometimes where i feel a rush and nudge my nose really fast though thats only when im alone and may just be some psychological thing... I think I have MOderate depression though which is still sooo bad! :(

  • I'm bipolar...my moods confuse the hell out of myself and my friends. Not to mention my little brothers. *sigh*

  • Bipolar is a life ruiner, I virtually loose majority of my relationships because of it. Mostly due to the severe depression, I am lucky enough to have a wonderful husband who is extremely understanding. Bipolar has ruined my entire life, they still haven't found me the right medication combination. *sigh*

  • I hate it that the symptoms fits me, but I am not diagnosed and don't think that will help me either...

  • i have pipolar 2 and im not proud! damn

  • rosie and posie, your either 12 years ol, then your excused, if your older, WOW you keep thinking that, and when your kid does not move from bed for 3 weeks, and never wants to go out, but can make insane money,,,,,,,,,,you think about this, you put it in the universe for yourselves, unless your gay, and thats cool [no kids] great luck to you sick bashers......you have zero idea..... i went through school with this shit, now im 40 yrs old and now knowing what I have, ever come to FL, look me up!

  • That is a completely ignorant statement. I have bi-polar 2 and it is not about wanting to be that way. Really read up on it, get informed, meet someone with it, watch there states and tell me you dont believe it is biological, and pray you dont end up with it Karma has a way of that.

  • no, no no, honestly i have had this illness since17 and now i am 33, all i want is to be normal, have alot of friends and be productive. at times it is like some ONE flicked a switch in my brain, and all hell breaks lose. as fo discipline I have a Black Belt in Taekwondo,as well I am a professional drummer. it may seem that these BI PEOPLE YOU KNOW ARE MAKING IT UP,IT IS LIKE YOUR BRAIN IS ON A ROLLER COASTER WITH NO BREAKS! THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS CONDITION OVER LOOKED BY SOCIETY AS AN EXCUSE.

  • Do you know how it feels to be high then hell low or are you in denial??

  • FUCK YOU, you are ignorant

  • I have Bipolar 1 myself, it sucks.. the depressive period sucks, but i dont mind having that manic period, its jus that i get a little too hyperactive, and sometimes its not that great xD

But long story short, having bipolar 1 sucks..

  • what grade u get for this?

  • im scared i got 15-30% chance of getting it !! what shud i do!!!!! help !!!

  • FUT FUT FUT FREESTAILO

  • Great job there SexyNinjaMuffins!! You have it too? Lets hook up and chat sometime!!

  • I have Bipolar disorder. I take prescriptions. They help. Without them I would sleep 0-2 hours a day

  • Trust me on this. I'm the biggest sceptic out there and was diagnosed 6 years ago. It's real, I take my meds and get therapy (court-ordered). You only understand it if you have it, and then like anything, there are different types and degrees. Hey I went to court screaming I felt it was all bullshit, etc. But when I come home I have to deal with myself. And that was what I had a hard time with; the devil inside they call it.

  • I agree that dr's over diagnose certain things such as ADD in kids for example. But bipolar disorder is very real. I have a wife with bipolar disorder and when she started having episodes before she became medicated it was unreal. The medications after several different trials of different prescriptions have made a huge difference in her mood swings and irritability. If she wasn't medicated, I couldn't live with her. It is a chemical inbalance and one hell of a roller coaster ride.

  • I'm going to have a seizure from the flashing lights. Why the funeral music?

  • interesting!

  • Mr. Cartoonguy: Make a screenshot of this dialog and read it again in 10, 20 years.

I shall leave it with that.

  • Sorry I have been a bit over the top recently......I know where you are coming from......Just angry and cannot stop.

  • Kids,

this is not only unprofessionally produced, it is also discriminating. I was born with this condition, I didn't chose it. I am a highly functional executive in the 3rd largest software company on the planet. It is stigmatizing enough to be born with this, I don't need high school kids adding to the pain. Imagine what would happen if I'd tell a potential life partner that I have BP and she'd stumble across this.

    Take it down.

    Thomas

  • Dont be stupid....it's u tube...since when has utube been a medical site? Hows it discriminating?..it matches the ICD-10 and DSM -IV. Whats your pompous career got to do with bipolar any way?...I have it too and I am a very functional person......I can touch my nose with my tongue. Your job doesnt make you any better than anyone else....If you dont like it dont use you tube and look for bipolar videos.

  • u know...i started writing quite the rebuttle to this individuals statement...but then i visited his page, he's a frakking nutjob.

GurnSi, u need a shrink more than anyone who's bipolar.

  • ipwntehmagik, F.O.

I do not converse with BUSH-LOVERS and neocon-apologists.

  • This is bullshit

  • really? the only thing wrong about this is that Bipolar does not actually cause death.

  • I think it meant by suicide or by getting into a dangerous situation while manic that goes badly wrong. But yes, it isn't a fatal illness in itself.

  • I found this video pretty much when it was posted and still like to watch it occasionally. I've also showed to some friends to help them understand my moodswings. I have deepset depression and hypomania with sometimes very fast cycle.

I'd like to say one thing tho, therapy usually won't help bipo II (or I for that matter) just medication. Otherwise very well done and so accurate.

  • i'm also bipolar & i very like video <3

  • i'll look through my media and try and find the songs

i made this so long ago i've totally forgotten

i believe the first song was done by malice mizer though

  • You have to tell me the name of the techno song so I can have it :D

  • it's either by Infected Mushrooms or 1200 Micrograms. very trippy bands haha. the only bad thing about this video was how fast you had to read it

  • Very, VERY nicely done. I suffer from BPD as well, and I take close to 11 pills a day to control it.

  • im bi-polar im on 2 diffrent meds. im only 16

  • I love this, I have Bipolar and you have encapulated the mindsets perfectly.

  • Great music and great information. Watching the visuals and the music felt just like it does inside my head when I'm manic.

The only thing I take issue with is listing the drugs on there. You only listed two or three and I'm not on any of them. There's lots of drugs available.

    Good job though.

  • COOL MUSIC!!!!!!!

  • i haveee bipolar disorderrrrr.

  • i was miss diagnosed

  • Ah jaysus, you poor thing

  • So, is Bi-Polar always hereditary, because I sometimes feel sad/happy/lose concentration/feel worthless. I do have OCD and low self-esteem and am 18, so what do people think?

  • Maybe they thought everyone watching it would already be on anti-convulsants for bipolar.

  • lol

  • Christ. tried to watch this but scared ill have an epileptic fit.

  • hahah

  • lol nice

  • True that. I was like O.O

  • Perhaps in a few decades or so when Nano technology inproves we may see new innovative ways to communicate or manipulate DNA or Microorganisms thus reducing or curing many ailments. Everything in existance has a structure or system. Life is made up of systems so everything is relative to your perception regarding reality in context to your circumstances. Mental illness can be classed as daunting to some as sufferers have a different perspective.

  • I've recently been looking at organelles that conduct intelligently planned procedures such as mitosis and protein synthesis and have reached a hypothesis that they have a level of consciousness or intellegence as they communicate chemically and react to external stimulae. We all interact chemically as people but communicate vocally. Micro organisms, I feel can be found to have thought.

  • RAAAAHHHHHH !

  • I was diagnosed with bipolar at the age of 11. They immediatly put me on Lithium, and moved me to a "special" school. What's funny is, the basis of the diagnosis was how emotionally unstable I was for a short time after we moved to a new state.

  • As for heredity, yes, it's said if someone in your lineage has had the disorder you're more like to suffer form it too, but think about this, this order has a very high incidence of going undiagnosed, misdiagnosed for years and years. It still goes undiagnosed globally.

  • Pt.2 I'm living proof, so was Einstein, Michaelangelo and so many other creatives who share this disorder.

  • okay, i'm 14 and i have most of the symptoms of the third type of bipolar, but no one that i know of in my family has bipolar. is it possible to have it without inheriting it from a family member?

  • omg bubblesfantasy. You are the same age I was 18 years ago when they tried to tell me I had a biological disease. Idiots! At 14 years old you are suffering from puberty. Remember to ask for genetic test or chemical imbalance blood test before taking any Bipolar meds, just to be sure you have the *disease*.

  • Do not take bipolar meds unless you are an adult! They will seriously screw up your body and the last thing you need in high school is people making fun of your body because of psych med damage.

  • Psychotropic drugs only show moderate effectiveness over placebos in about 30% of people in clinical studies.

  • There is no test for chemical imbalances in the brain. Only a test for metabolites of neurotransmitters in the brain and those are only 50% accurate. You can test your hormone and electrolyte levels and also for any toxins in the blood. Oh, and vitamin deficiency. The only way to diagnose someone is to assess their behavior. It doesn't even show up in a brain scan

  • BUBBLES; I agree with SFJANE, at 14 there's no way to diagnose Bipolar, the average onset is early 20's. I understand you have symptoms that simulate what you know about bipolar, but understand this, Puberty comes with the same symptoms, need for sleep, no need for sleep, highs, lows, mood swings, etc. And guess what? ladies in the late 40's have the same symptoms as bipolar disorder as well, mood swings, highs, lows, etc. and it's called menopause.

  • I think I have this disease sometimes I watch something and forget what I've seen... at school I stay all the break in my bench... alone staring at the floor... sometimes I get really nervous and tears start to come all the sudden...

  • it ok killguta, it's normal to feel nervous in school or in social situations. it does not mean you have a disease, it's puberty + social pressure and that causes major stress. It will get better. :)

  • Well said..I had to pause sometimes to read, but it was all very well put together.

  • Just wait til she comes down a little and she'll tone down the colors, turn the music down and slow down the RAPID SPEECH, I mean slides.

  • TO EVERYONE THAT COMMENTED ON THE QUALITY ...COLORS, SLIDES TO FAST, MUSIC TOO LOUD. YOU DON'T GET IT IT!!!!! We as Bipolar 1 people in an extreme state like me see this as normal. I took her using this tool as a reflection of what's going on in her head and she's trying to tell you about it. We call it RACING THOUGHTS, or PRESSURED SPEECH, the cornerstone of mania. She rocked with the message both informationally and subliminally to us BiPolar people.

  • hey divainhotpink. I agree with you about the colors and music. However. You can learn to control it without meds or therapy. Trust me. I learned how to do it because I was put in a situation where I had no choice and all the time in the world. Believe me, mania is controllable on your own terms without meds.

When the fire is contained, you will understand that all that is left is a gift.

  • Pt. 1 (Read this first)SFJane, my comment on this artist was based on the fact that I've lived with this madness for 6 years. The posting was geared to the people who "DON'T GET IT" don't understand it. I'm so with you on the no drug therapy, as long as you are in touch with what you have, understand your triggers and have a strong support system its very possible to live a productive existence.

  • Totally agree...however, are you ever afraid that you might not be able to control it one day?

  • i am rapid cycleing bipolar i change by the minute many times a day and the med either make me a zombie or they make me fat i went from 210 to 266 lbs you might gain a couple lbs they told me im trying one more med then thats it i will not use meds except for my zyprexa zydis wich is not weight gaining i smoke pot and that helps a lot to keep me more level but of course the dr.s will say its not good but i im not saying go and start smoikin it but it does help me

  • 15% im fucked. Time to go see the doc

  • you need to change the music, and slow down those slides

  • Well done---we have to keep getting the word out and educating people...

I recently wrote a book entitled "Lipstick and Thong int he Loony Bin"

The goal is to erase the stigma and give people hope that they can go from Rock Bottom to Rock ON!

Best wishes for the best mental health ever,

    Courtney

  • i have bi-polar 1 and i'm 14 and don't take any meds....my mum thinks im just faking it.........help!!!!!!!!!

  • Your slides are too fast and the flashy colors and music may be VERY disturbing to anyone with a mental disorder..please, do some research and fix these issues if you want to be taken seriously.

  • WONDERFUL! great job, but im a bit nervous to show this to my friend who has seizures.

  • yo quiero suicidarme. I am bipolar, but more depression

  • cool

  • The music is too manic..and the colors and way they show this is too fast.

  • I love this video. I use it alot to inform friends and family of what i have and that i'm really not that entirely crazy and that my behaviour is something i can't control. Hope ya got a good mark!

  • Thanks for this video Now I can learn more about bipolar! Im not Bipoler I am Autistic but one of my good friends is Bipolar and I wanted to learn more about it. Thanks 5 stars! :,D

  • I take 100MG of Lamotrigine a day.

  • Medication data a little dated. Modern treatments include Quetiapine and Lamotrigine alone or in combination.

  • the first song is a Malice Mizer song, and the second is Extacy by Scooter.

Thank-you for all the comments, I never expected to get this much response.

I put this up here as a back-up plan in case I couldn't load my science project onto the school computers.

    XD

  • My cousin has bipolar & I had to live with him for a few months & it was so stressful, there was this amazing amout of stress penetrating from him to me. When he lived with my mum for 1 week he left & my mum said she felt like a bomb had hit her.

  • Where did you get the facts for the video?

  • I have Biopolar. I like your video but it is merely a bunch of facts. Facts help people understand the disorder but what they dont understand is how it effects the person and their jobs, school and relationships. I wish people could see/feel what its really like for just one second! Don't get me wrong, your video was informative. I just feel frustated because so many people dont REALLY understand!!

  • Oookay, can we describe the disorder without the really annoying rainbow effect and the grating techno music, please? I'm already bipolar. And, now after seeing your video I have epilepsy...

  • I think I'm bipolar..

  • Sakai no chi to bara.. XD Nice choice.

  • Poles does not mean "episode". It means that you swing between two poles, ie. polar opposites

  • Like North/South pole

  • For this looking, the name of the song is Extacy - Scooter.

I liked the video, it really reflects the mood of bipolar. Especially with the flashing lights and music

  • Bipolar can also be caused by suffering many years of child abuse, that`s what I have read.

  • id disagree. Id have to say that the disorder is purly genetic.

I have it and it runs on my fathers side of the family.

  • You might be refering to Borderline Personality -that is, if I know what I'm talking about. :)

  • Or it can kick it into gear early if the child is abused AND has the gene.

  • my phycologist said i had bipolor a while ago i refused treament i think im going to get treatment now, thanks for uploading this video man.

  • Bipolar disorder is a biological/genetic and environmental disorder. You can be born with the bipolar "gene" or predisposition and never develop the disorder but you cannot be born without the predisposition and later develop it.

  • Oui, that's what happened to me. As soon as i hit 16, it reared it's ugly head.

  • hey everyone..all i have to say is ...granted this video was a little weird to some..but i found out alot about bipolar tonight...more like...agreed with alot the author of this had to print...in many colors..but anyways...i have been diagnosed since 2000 and i love my life...in strides..but i am happy..and we, bipolar people, are happy...people love us...this video just brings it out..good or bad..but it is informative...take care

  • ok.. the facts and information is great but.. the movie editing is terrible...flashing colors?mourful organ music? come on...

  • my fiancee suffers bipolar its very difficult for me as i suffer clinical depression.. the mood swings take alot out of u u dont know wether your coming or going .. thankyou it helped .. put some easy music with it though that music was distressing :o)

  • I have bipolar disorder for years before i got it diagnosed recently. Thank you for posting this it is good to let people become aware of the symptoms and your video was very informative on that.

  • What's with the awful flashing colours?

  • good video, im actually doing a project on it right now, & it had some useful info!

  • Great information but definitly contraindicative for anyone who has a history of mania. Excellent comprehensive scope of information provided.

Those who have bipolar, please look me up. = )

  • contraindicative? That's not a word but got your point

  • Contraindicated. That is when a drug or therapy is medically unsafe for a condition.

  • Never heard it used as a verb or adverb

  • I'm BP type 1 and I love this video! build's me up to almost manic state at the end!!

  • I agree.. the flashing lights and rapid changing and music was enough to send me into a manic episode, or epileptic seizure if I had epilepsy. I'd say tone it down a bit if you want to show this to people with any sort of impaired concentration, otherwise, very informative and also check out Cognitive Therapy and its benefits as well as the therapy you've listed. Thanks!

  • The annoying techno music and flashing bright colors are starting to make me feel like I have it right now.

  • YOU are not Bipolar, don't refer to yourself as the dis-ease.

  • Wait so if we have bipolar we're supposed to say I'm bipolared?

    stop being a jackass

  • If you are your dis-ease and then one day a cure is found and your disease is gone will you vanish with it? open your mind people.

  • I can tell you are young so I will explain further.. you don't need to say I'm bipolared, or I'm bipolar, instead you can say I have bipolar or I suffer from bipolar. Understood? you separate yourself from the dis-ease this way which is important.

  • I do actually understand the fundamentals of the English language, and I also understand your point with the example of saying "I'm cancer", but can't you just leave it as a colloquial(pardon my spelling?) saying of those within the bipolar community?

  • Im Bipolar and must say good job. Inform those masses

  • I'm struggling with the beginning stages of bipolar, and am just beginning treatments. This video taught me quite a bit about what I have and pointed out some more symptoms that I have had, but didn't know were symptoms at all. Thank you for posting this.

  • man glitter bug...if you're getting your manic depression knowledge from youtube you are in the wrong place. I was diagnosed 2 years ago and i've done plenty of research in books and go to doctors for knowledge, you should do the same. "An Unique Mind" is a great book about manic depression from 1st point of view. There aren't really beggining stages so i dont know what you're dealing with but you either have a depressive and manic episode or you don't..they can come from nowhere

  • An UNQUIET Mind-Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison-If you believe in the "kindling" theory there can be beginning stages

  • I have bipolar type 2 and I have found that Cognitive Therapy was most helpful for me. I recommend it highly. I also think that medication can be very helpful as well, but it just takes determination to find what is right for you. Sometimes it was take years to find the right combination of therapies, but it is all worth it to be balanced and happy. Good luck!

  • Thanks for this.

  • IM BP2 good vid!!!! bad ass song on there too....who sings it???

  • peaceowork, agreed.

  • I have bipolar type 2 and I think your video is awsome!

  • i thought that video was very good.

    congrats.

  • Hey nice song. Who is it by or.where'd you get it?
