Does any one know if this game has been released on any of the new platforms (ps, xbox or hand held versions)? and where yuo would be able to get the re release of the game.
Thanks for any help provided, i spent many hours playing this game and would really like to won the game again.
It looks obvious that this game is for the arcade. I have seen so many differences. The graphics are the obvious. The style of the music is different although the music is the same. The NES version does not include the gun turrets on the first level. The music brings back the memory. Even in the NES version it was important for me to use the precise handling of the helicopter and the quick reaction. Destroying the enemies was not enough for this game.
Got this one on Genesis and Toaplan Shooting Battle 1 PSX (it's pretty expensive), the PSX version is darned near perfect from what I hear and have played of. This one is tough as nails, Toaplan had a habit of making bullets fast in their games and enemies love to fire exactly where you need to go, so patience is a virtue in this game as well as good reflexes.
@MamePlayer Indeed, Toaplan were masters at making games demanding, including Fire Shark, which was far easier than Flying Shark, but hard enough to where you needed to practice to loop the game. Cave is this way as well, considering some of their staff are former Toaplan employees.
@Bloodreign1 on Twin Cobra for NES, sometimes it is tricky to evade the bullets, especially those that come from the ground vehicles and the gun turrets. You have to be very careful around the final vehicles because I believe that they try to fake you out and shoot you down. Unlike the arcades, you only have to face the bosses one at a time. You do not have to worry about the accompanying vehicles during the boss fights. Sometimes, there are gun turrets and missile silos with the bosses.
a lot different from the NES version I played as a kid :) loved that version, I'll have to find a ROM of this one
