i did a leak test with my system installed, just had the water block set up outside the case, unplugged the power from everything and jumpered the psu.
what is none conductive liquid like at "non conducting" its just im looking into water cooling but im more worried about leaks than anything else. Plus what are pc's with water cooling like for moving around e.g. to lan partys etc. its just i move my pc around alot
@mhaneline Fine? In my situation non-conductive fluid is great, maybe not for you. It's what I like and what I feel is the best choice, it has saved me many broken cards. Also, it takes a fair amount of time for the fluid to lose its non-conductivity, a simple leak test wouldn't flaw its' values. How do YOU feel about being wrong?
@PCguy650 Still has a risk from going through the loop picking up ions and if that leaks it will still cause a short. Best bet would be de-ionized water with anti corrosion chemicals and a dye.
LOL, well i have a watercooling loop kit, awesome temps with my i7 OC 49C MAX. Plus super silent. On the colors, i use Feser Coolant, they have a variety of UV Colors plus its non Conductive =)
@mhaneline No because if you put it together outside the computer and run it for leaks, it may not but when you put it back in the computer you could easily cause part of it to start leaking.
@Backwardsman97 No. The only possible way a non-leaking loop would begin leaking when you put it in to a case is if you used horrible fittings, or did not install the loop properly. With correct fittings, it will not leak. Absolutely NEVER leak test inside your case. That is the worst idea of all time, ever. I don't care of the case is completely empty. You'll still have a mess to clean up if you screwed things up. Always "short" your PSU and test the loop away from any other components.
@Intel1502 I enjoy when someone that knows exactly dick about water cooling tries to school me.
As soon as the non-conductive liquid circulates in your loop, it becomes conductive. Non-conductive coolant is a sham, and I feel bad for all the suckers that fall for it. Save money. Buy Distilled + PTNuke.
@mhaneline Water (non-cond) + my video card = no problem. Maybe something much worse happened in your situation but I strongly believe that non-cond fluid is the way to go.
@mhaneline Are you gonna give people lessons on how to move a water-cooled PC? Besides, you know how many people get leaks by just moving their pc to a lan party? it may be leak proof on your desk, but if you shift the shit to your car, then to lan party, then back to your car, and then to your desk... how do you know nothing might haven't become loose?
@mhaneline you don't always have to use those ugly shits. You can you the differences of tubings and the in/out on blocks and so on to keep them tight. How do you know that your reservoir wont break under all the pressure of moving... many things can play a role in this...
Whats this case called ?

@listert2595 Its actually not that bad, for one when you leak test everything is unplugged but the powersupply to a power supply tester.
As far as actual leaking goes, all the connections are impossibly tight, and you can make them even more secure.

Thats why im buying coolant that is anti corrosive and doesnt conduct electricity

@PCguy650
it will.. become conductive.. and destroy your pc if its on when that leaks out.

@tehklutzking cant you use oil for cooling? like mineral oil wich is not conductive

@mhaneline No. With non-conductive fluid your parts can be leaked on and they will work like nothing happened if you simply dry them out.

mhaneline 10 months ago
@mhaneline whats the point. if you take it outside, and then put it back in, how do you know you might not have made something leak again...
seacuracao 10 months ago
@seacuracao if you cause a leak moving your water cooling components, they weren't securely fitted in the first place.
mhaneline 10 months ago
@mhaneline you can still create a leak no mater what, even when moving a pc and all its components are securely fitted.
