Well, you can't say one is better than the other, because both are ripped off from Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C Sharp Minor.

Both use C sharp, but you can still make a claim as to which one is better than the other. Draconian's is metal, this one is a bit more boring in my opinion.

I can say that Draconian's is better because that's where my musical tastes lie. Having been borrowed from C sharp has nothing to do with it.

It's too bad that's absolutely wrong. the 80's generally destroyed music with repetition of the same synth sound over and over again, then the hair metal came and stole a bunch of Russian and German Classical composer's work and did it with guitars.

My Gosh! You can't compare the GREAT Ekseption to a nowadays gothic band (Draconian or others). We have here to do with prog rock from the '70s. This is the story of music, men! And please notice that Ekseption were only one of many prog bands, and each of them had (has) an own "touch". Van der Graaf Generator for ex. were quite dark (in music + lyrics), Genesis had more complex music patterns (hear "Suppy's Ready"), Amazing Blondel was/is the most bucolic prog band, etc. No levelling like today

Of course the one by draconian is way better. This is some progressive rock abomination which totally doesn't fit in the mood of the original masterpiece. Draconian's version actually has some kind of deep and sad mood to it which doesn't rape the original completely like this one does.
