This is my theory is, Easter Island is where all the Polynesian's came from like the Tongans, Samaoan's, Hawaiian's,NZ, etc. Those guys are massive due to Taro's are they probably used a method that has been long forgottent which may reflect on the reason why they probably left with there taros.
Iam reading the book 'short history of progress'by ronald wright,so i find this video good and educative as well,One day i hope to visit Easter Island.Thank u.Toronto,UTSC
The statues are an impressive testament to what a group of South Sea islanders could accomplish centuries ago, but there is a sobering history behind them. It is a story of the civilization that built them, but then destroyed itself through reckless misuse of its environment. A five-minute music video that can be visited by clicking on the link to my site recounts the history of the Polynesian tribes who settled Easter Island.
Im from Rapa nui, but now live in Italy. Im so homesick and watching at your video made me feel my home so close. thanks so much, great music, love the way you have seen my homeland. uka
Easter island. Thank you for sharing. I am going to visit there one day. I read Thor Hyerdahl's book about this sacred and mysterous place. I hope it will never go the way of Hawaii from development and overbuilding. See "discover kauai' on youtube. it is funny, sad and completly true.
I love Easter Island or Rapa Nui or Isla de Pascua. I went there last Sept and have some great footage and pictures. I especially liked the mountain of dead moais
I found the red roofed building on frame 1:05 on Google Earth. It is in Hangoa-Roa, lying on a little inlet, about a half hour walk north of the landing strip. There appears to be a large brown roofed building South East of it that has six dots on its roof. I'm still looking for the Moai
I've been there 7 days in 1990. There's some new "Ahu", like Ahu Tongariki who wasn't there 16 years ago. It's great to see the "road" between places again. Hope to go there again, at least one time before I die! It's divine to be able to be alone with the statues and the sea, with no other tourists around...
I believe that polynesians are native american indians who travelled from north and south american to inhabit the islands of easter Island hawaii and Samoa Etc. Their lifestyles and culture are very similar to native people and they look exactly the same.
wow, that place looks amazing. the weather doesn look great. was that because you were there in feb? why did you choose to go there? i feel a bit of an urge to go there...randomly. where did you stay or was it expensive? i would be flying out from northern ireland so it will be a long trip when i go.
feb was recommended as preferred time to go. We stayed at the hotel Iorana, and had all accomodations we'd need. Altogether, with the air tickets from New York it was something about two grand a head. Approximately 24 hours commute with landings in Lima and Santiago.
It was nice to watch this video, as I was just there a few months ago. 5 days seemed like it would be too much time, but it was not actually enough. Did you make it to Poike?
Yes, it is a great place and in my opinion even month wouldn't be enough.
If "Poike" is somewhere near Ahu Tongariki then we've been there. I didn't want to put all the footage into the video cause then it'd be unnecessary long ;)
