We consume 25% of the world's oil and we currently estimate about 3% of the world's total oil supply is off our shores. Even if we start drilling right now, we wont see direct changes in the prices of oil or gas for years, and even then, they will be too small and too fleeting.

Drilling for oil = bandage on a deep stab wound. We need to be searching for 21st century solutions to our energy problem, not breathing life into a 19th century solution.

so he claims he is for the lifting of the ban but he will follow suit with reid and pelosi. harry reid has already tried to slip a ban on oil shale in the first bail out bill and if obama does win with a majority of his party in the house and senate the dems will put the ban back in place. drilling is not the solution but we have to drill to keep fuel prices stable to help the people who are being pinched by high fuel prices until we can ween our self off of oil for good.

Rick gets it. Texas has wind and solar resources that we need to take advantage of along with our oil and gas industry. Recent advances in wind and solar power production that have brought the cost down need to be used to stop importing oil and sending all our wealth out of the U.S. Listen to Boone Pickens, one of the richest oil men and that's what he says too. Texas is lucky to have it all but we don't need more years of Senator John sticking his head in the Saudi sand doing nothing.

What a load of CR*P! John Cornyn has spent much of his time in the Senate pushing to open Coastal Drilling, ANWR, Oil Shale development and Nuclear, in addition to green sources of energy.  Unlike Noriega, Sen. Cornyn realizes that we can not look exclusively to the current Green Energy offerings, but that we must utilize them as part of a comprehensive energy package. While Al Gore and his cronies fly around the world in private jets, Cornyn is trying to do something that will actually work!

Id go work on a drilling rig in Alaskaa, forida or california in about 10 seconds, but as for a drilling rig in the midddle east, that job offer would end up being given back to rick with instructions that he place it where the sun dont shine.......
