We consume 25% of the world's oil and we currently estimate about 3% of the world's total oil supply is off our shores. Even if we start drilling right now, we wont see direct changes in the prices of oil or gas for years, and even then, they will be too small and too fleeting.
Drilling for oil = bandage on a deep stab wound. We need to be searching for 21st century solutions to our energy problem, not breathing life into a 19th century solution.
so while we search for the solution let everyone suffer with high fuel prices. fuel prices effect everything like the price of food at the grocery store which has to be transported to the store. waiting for the solution while not drilling to ease the pain at the pump is economic suicide.
Noriega supports lifting the ban on offshore drilling. I'm not against offshore drilling, but I'm smart enough to know it's NOT the solution to our problem.
so he claims he is for the lifting of the ban but he will follow suit with reid and pelosi. harry reid has already tried to slip a ban on oil shale in the first bail out bill and if obama does win with a majority of his party in the house and senate the dems will put the ban back in place. drilling is not the solution but we have to drill to keep fuel prices stable to help the people who are being pinched by high fuel prices until we can ween our self off of oil for good.
Fucking "greens" like you stand in the way of free enterprise. Russia is enjoying the new Democrat majority because they can lay claim to oil sources all over the gloab without challenge.
I hope you'e not from Texas because your head is way too far up your ass to be a citizen of our grand state.
Yes, because "greens" support drilling for oil and nuclear power as parts of an energy plan. You're smart.
I do live in TX, and I'm embarrassed that this state re-elected one of the worst senators in congress. It's a reflection of the blind stupidity of brainwashed, GOP followers who don't realize that this man is for larger government, more government interference both domestically and abroad, and for denying American citizens, equal protection under the law.
If you want to argue that gas prices have gone up since 2002, how about I be a little more specific and argue that gas prices started going through the roof when the Democrats took over Congress.?
Rick gets it. Texas has wind and solar resources that we need to take advantage of along with our oil and gas industry. Recent advances in wind and solar power production that have brought the cost down need to be used to stop importing oil and sending all our wealth out of the U.S. Listen to Boone Pickens, one of the richest oil men and that's what he says too. Texas is lucky to have it all but we don't need more years of Senator John sticking his head in the Saudi sand doing nothing.
This ad is garbage. You can thank Noriega's friends Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi for the current energy crisis. Pelosi should resign her seat. She is by far the worst house majority leader ever.

What a load of CR*P! John Cornyn has spent much of his time in the Senate pushing to open Coastal Drilling, ANWR, Oil Shale development and Nuclear, in addition to green sources of energy. Unlike Noriega, Sen. Cornyn realizes that we can not look exclusively to the current Green Energy offerings, but that we must utilize them as part of a comprehensive energy package. While Al Gore and his cronies fly around the world in private jets, Cornyn is trying to do something that will actually work!
Well, I don't know where Rick has been hiding but we're already the leading state in wind turbines! He starts off talking about rising gasoline prices and then talks about renewables. HUH???? Rick!! My PRIUS runs on GASOLINE not WIND POWER!!!! As usual, liberals are so stupid. How dumb to offer solutions that are ALREADY taking place in response to problems that require another form of energy. John Cornyn for re-election! DRILL HERE! DRILL NOW!!!

of course cutting down entire forests, & turning our food aid to africa into biodiesel WOULD work, but then millions of poor aid recipients overseas would starve, & the spotted owl would be gone as we clear the redwoods to plant corn...... Id go work on a drilling rig in Alaskaa, forida or california in about 10 seconds, but as for a drilling rig in the midddle east, that job offer would end up being given back to rick with instructions that he place it where the sun dont shine.......

This has GOT to be the DUMBEST strategy, MORE BLOOD for oil, NOBODY drilling here,in other us states Just Soldiers & Contractors drilling & dying in the middle east while this BOZO tries to figure out how to get a giant windmill to run his car......
Really, Noriega? I hardly think Cornyn has unilateral responsibility for the high gas prices. What was it again that you have done to lower gas prices? Oh, that's right, not a damn thing. What a pathetic load of crap. Do you expect us to believe that you're not taking money from energy companies? In Texas? HA!
PS I know that your campaign has record low contributions in comparison to a REAL senate campaign, but next time, get your camera man a $20 tripod...he looks a little nervous.

I know your campaign has record low contributions (what a shocker) but if you're playing for the big leagues, go buy a $20 camera tripod next time - your camera man looks a little nervous...

Rick Noriega will raise your taxes, keep us from using our own oil, and be an utter disaster for Texas and the nation.

Rick is all hat and no cattle.
He will follow Reid and Pelosi to the unlighted cave for they have no idea of energy-what is is, where it came from, and why we do not have more.
