Karen Carpenter has (had) a slightly deep voice- so it adds a different dimension than Skeeter. Not better- just different.

Also check out Johnny Angel by Karen Carpenter- again much different but not necessarilly better than Shelley Fab version

I prefer Skeeter's version over Karen's (as much as I love her singing) but even still I have to give Karen props for doing it cause this song actually pays homage to Skeeter. See, one of the reasons Richard got Karen into singing with him and his original trio was cause Karen used to sing this song around the house so much as a kid. =)
