  • actually the tradtition chinese culture and civiliance is over after the yashan battle mentioned in video. thank god, wind destoried mongolian navy that we can see real china in Japan.

  • really fucking hate that indian's voice!

  • China was caught in a civil war. Li Zicheng sacked Beijing in 1644. Ming General Wu Sangui opened up the Shanhai pass to the Manchu so they could topple the short lived Shun Dynasty. Manchuria which was still Jurchen back then and was previously under Ming rule. They began to rebel against the Ming, but some Ming officers sought their assistance when the last Ming Emperor committed suicide.

  • Watching this because of homework

  • @MrWitozo same... eww :P

  • At first China (Song) was a tributary state of Khitan empire. And then Chinese (South Song) had to pay an exorbitant tribute again to Jurchens Kim empire when Kim conquered both Khitan empire and its tributary state (Song).

  • @KoriSenbay learn chinese history before you make false statements.

  • At first, Song empire (southern China) allied with Mongols to fight agianst Jin Empire (northern China);

After Northern Chinese dynasty was defeated by Mongol-song united force, the mongols wanted to invade Song empire

  • mongol emperor Kublai is pretty good, but the rest just fight for power along themselves and don't care about anything in the empire...

  • fucking viet didint defeat shit man they are skinny and small little weak bastards they didint even defeat usa.usa just give them mercy they didint wanted to kill the vietnamese woman and little poor kids

  • This is total bullshit. He cut down anybody who wasn't Mongolian. He was crazy, cutting people, riding horses, shooting bows and arrows, all over the place, people cut down by Kublai's sword. Amazing guy. Great.

  • What do you Mongols think about the Turanism that some Turks are very interested in?

  • What do you Mongols think abuot Kubilai Khaan compared to Arikbook?

He left much of his his roots. I doubt Chinggis Khaan would have agreed to his ways. But what do you think that are his people? How do you think the Mongol empire would have turned out with Arikbook as Khagan?

  • @erikandreasnilsson in my opinion Khublai khan was a great khan, revolutionary and generally peacefull compared to the other mongolian khans. i think he was more about possesions not like most mongolian who wanted to conquer their souls besides their land but i still think he was one of the greatest khans.

  • i dont know which chinese ethnic group is responsible for egg rolls, beef fried rice, and chicken chow mein - but god bless you! haha

  • HISTORY IS WHAT MAKES US TODAY!! AND TODAY WITHIN THE NEW CHINA, THERE ARE 56 ETHNIC MINORITIES!! THE MONGOLS, THE MANCHU, HAKKA, CANTONESE, TIBETANS, THE HAN ETC ETC......

ALL OF THE 56 ETHNIC MINORITY MAKES UP THE MODERN CHINESE CIVILIZATION!! WE ARE ALL CHINESE!!

  • @popoTb lol. Go do some schoolwork before you bark this ridiculous thing out. Hakka and Cantonese are included in Han. They are not even officially recognized. Not to mention there are not considered as an independent member of 56 ethnic groups. You banana Canadian lack some serious common sense of China.

  • @herifuzhenguan3 Hakka and Cantonese are not officially recognized because they are dialect groups, not ethnic groups. (And yes, the PRC don't really recognize most of the Han dialects)

  • the grand canal.amazing .

  • CAN'T YOU SEE MODERN ALL CHINESE INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE HP'S PROMOTE MONGOL TRIBE'S CULTURE AND TRADITION UNDER CHINESE NAME!

  • i admire kublai not only was he a fearsome warrior but he was also a compassionate ruler, he was very well balanced. tolerant of everyone and everything.

  • Mongolians will be the strongest country once again, but they need some time to make it... History is the thing that happened, it is not a thing that never happened... So, they have more chance than others

  • @nono3379 I really doubt that Mongolia will be the most powerfull country ever again. But Iam impressed that you have kept your way of life, and so much traditions from the time of Chinggis Khaan. I would love to visit a Naadam. I love wrestling. Archery and I like alot too. and I like to ride, it must be real nice to ride on those endless steppes. I wish I could find a real Mongolian Composite/Horn bow.

  • point is, mongol/ manchu what ever can conquer Han chinese' land but Han conquered them all with their books and thoughts.

  • @AnjuABCDE ?Means what??? A bad excuse that chinese have been ruled by nomadic tribes for most of the last 1000 years?

  • @erikandreasnilsson clearly your pea brain can process a statement. What excuse, you can kill but when you open your mouth you will sound like a idiot.

  • @AnjuABCDE I just have to ask what you mean, you say you can kill but when u open your mouth you will sound like a idiot? Who are you reffering to? To the mongols or erikandreasnilsson? I never understood why ppl have to be so rude for no reason on forums and comment sites. Does it make your argument stronger to say some words you would never say in a real discussion? Or if you do talk like that normally you would be in a lot of fights

  • I find this documentary to be a romanticized version of Kublai. Arts and culture in China did not flourish under Mongol rule. Ceramics, a crucial part of Chinese culture, was underdeveloped in the Yuan dynasty. The China produced in this period are considered by collectors to be inferior to the previous Song dynasty. Likewise, calligraphy, literature and painting stalled compared to the previous Tang and Song dynasties which produced many great poets and artists while I can't name any from Yuan.

  • That my lecturer George!!

  • Comment removed

  • Sung empire was run by a 5 yr old !!?? Kublai should've picked on people of his own age !!! ... What a bully

  • @Borat911IT IS COMMON NEAREST PERSON RULE THE COUNTRY IF KING IS TOO YOUNG AROUND THE WORLD. SO IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING IF HE WERE 5 OR NOT . IT IS FIGHT BETWEEN ONE RULER(COUNTRY) TO ANOTHER RULER (COUNTRY)

  • You all sound like stupid little boys with all your half baked racist nonesense.. Grow up mf;s. . . ,.

  • @dixon97a take it easy

  • There's nothing that is 'better' than another in history. It had happened, and if you can't accept that - then you have issues.

  • Test for all you low life stupid little monkies.

Who is the only country to ever defeat the overrated Mongols and Kublai Khan at the height of their empire?

Answer: The Vietnamese. They kicked the coward Mongols asses 3 times in a row.

  • @ngen1 and in modern times you conquer yourself good job

  • @ngen1 Hmmm... maybe it's because they were fighting in the friggin jungle, you fool. Now what has happened to the Vietnamese? The Mongols aren't overrated. Everything even the Vietnamese do, eat, and wear has been changed by the Mongols. History shows it all the time. Be careful what you say. Don't be so fast to be proud of something you didn't participate in. Respect what was done for you, and calm the freak down, son.

  • @ngen1 What is the name of that general that had those victories? Isent he still portayed on some of your money? Egypts Mamluks did deafet the Mongols before Vietnam though. But what Vietnam did was impressive

  • all the ignorant chinese people reading this keep in mind the the mongolians could have ended your society there and there could have killed all the men and women but they were merciful so just keep this in mind before you write stupid comments that make chinese people look like a bunch of backstabbing dogs!

  • the Chinese make the mongol become one of them.

I k ow you are either Koreans or some losers from asia with 1 inch dick. don't be jealous, you ancestors got fucked by the mongols as well. By the way, i am manchu, and my cousins are half mongol half manchu living in China. You know what, we love China and we hate foreigners.

  • hating foreigners in a globalized world my friend is not practical or wise long-term vision. I think you ought to rethink your position towards foreigners if you're to prosper in the future

  • @sonofmanchu How was the life style of the Manchus compared to the Mongols at the time of Yuan. And at the time of Qing, Did you all move into cities? Or were most or many manchus still Nomadic? I really like the Mancubow! I have seen that you still use ur traditional bows in archery. How come the manchus lost their language? Very few still speaks manchu right? Iam interested in ur history but I have not found very much information. Not pre.Qing atleast Jurchen/Jin, How did u take China then?

  • the greatest chinese ruler was a mongol

  • By greatest there are many factors....many consider Hongwu (around Timur's time) the greatest advancement in Chinese economy. Alot consider Kublai the greatest in culture....so alot of considering.

  • there was a reference to venice in this video. did that have anything to do with marco polo? did he ever exist in other words? thanks.

  • Yes, Marco Polo was real and had met the Khan. Marco Polo was not the first but nevertheless a great traveler connecting Asia and Europe by sea.

  • he was real but if he actually met the chinese emporer is debatlable. theres no record of him visiting in china
