  • What shoes does you use? What's the name of them?

  • Gloves? bad idea.

  • I've heard that doing parkour with shoes such as Vibram Five Fingers are good cuz you get better feelings of your surroundings. Could one use them?

  • So I can't use vans?

  • @Samuraislash600 If you wallrun in them they'll get messed up

  • I'd just like to add that one shall not rely on ''good shoes'' to avoid injuries.

Obviously, comfortable shoes is very important, and good shoes can makes practise safer, especially in the beginning, but the best way to avoid injuries is through hard work with physical training and a lot of repetitions of landings to build up the neuromuscular strenght. Also, things like stretching, food and water etc. but my point is.. train hard and safe.

  • would toe shoes work? they have the grip all the way around the toe, but I do wonder if the padding on the bottom would be sufficient enough in cushioning falls. straight up running shoes are probably fine tho...

  • Uhmm Shoes, Are Reebok Zigtech's good shoes?

  • @Seankilos13 NO

  • @elintinmagik why not??

  • @Seankilos13 becuase ive used them and the bottom doesnt flex very well and also theres alot of padding which isnt rly good for you to train with

  • I wear a Bright yellow top and a pair of tracksuit bottoms

  • Gloves will make you slip and fall actually. Real traceurs just build up their callous's on the hands.

  • wait so i cant use vans

    then wat should i use

  • to all germans: buy "new balance" shoes !!! they doesn't cost so much, they have extreme grip and they looks good...best I ever had, next to feyiues...(buy theim by "deichmann" for 49,90€)

  • where did 1:25 go?

  • They could be the best shows in the world i'd never wear them in public..

  • @XxsiPpi3xX "Shoes"?

  • what are those shoes are they slames/Merrell Waterpros?

  • try nike shoes, especially air max, they give good grip and support your feet when walking/running !

  • Hey julian! please help me get Oregon parkour up and running again!

  • haha i got ariake's and love them had them for months

  • i tried hiqh top vans brand new they work ok to save my life at least :P

  • i like my vibrams 5 toes

  • this is too confusing, im just going to go nude...........

  • So i take it skate shoes are a no no???

  • @PeaceBreaka i used to parkour in skate shoes, Skate shoes have decent grip, but its conditioning is very horrible. Mine lasted about 1 week of parkour till they pooped out and the plastic started to cut into my heel, Just try anything cross-trainers. I myself like running shoes, grip arent a big deal for me because of my speed and weight and technique all help friction on walls. I myself personally like grips with the circles ingraved, like a small one that echo's out.

  • @argonzeit True, skate shoes do have pretty good grip, but no toe grip. That doesn't really bother me though coz i mainly just bend my toes. If you have any good ideas for clothing such as cargo pants with t shirt or something like that then it would be appreciated!!! :D

  • @PeaceBreaka Oh totally, Cargo pants are the best for parkour, thats all i parkour in. I would suggest some that are loose on the legs, but always keep them up, not crotch huggers but high up cuz if they are low you will have a hard time getting your legs up, but cargo pants usually dont have that problem, I usually just wear whatever shirts, but i almost always have a underarmour under it because i hate getting chiggers on grass >.<

  • @argonzeit oh sweet thanks bro. never really tried much out so ill definitely give that a shot!

  • @PeaceBreaka Remember that is what works fo rme, it maynot work for you. Just try stuff.

  • i've once had some trial running shoes and they were fantastic.

  • oh ya i tried running up a wall wen it was wet with my converse* and that was a fail for me

  • What about the five finger shoes?

  • @meminimeusvita ive heard that they are great if your experienced and can do parkour bare footed but if not then they can be very uncomfortable

  • @meminimeusvita I was just about to ask the same thing. I like them, but I'm not a serious runner.

  • Dude, for some reason, now i wanna take a nap... XD...

  • for shoes i have converse*

  • @supablue09 vans r the best 4 parkour and skate bording

  • @johnlor52 but is it ok?

  • @johnlor52 ALL skate shoes are bad for parkour

  • Why is the word spelled "parkour"? In the state park by my house, it has the word correctly spelled from the French origin: parcours. That means "by the course-follow the health-trail course". Says that for over 30 years!

  • gay

  • well for my shoes i find that track shoes work well they have a lot of grip, and i like ones with harder plastic around the toe area because my last shoes were to soft around my toes. and i would always feel the impact of the wall on my big toe so the hard plastic really helps protect my toes

  • today i was tricking on my school in skate shoes while it was raining sliped and fell of the roof ( its like 10 feet) lol

  • yeah im from oregon to!! yay =D

  • Hes wrong about what kind of shoe surfaces give grip, you DO want flatter outsoles. and the harder the rubber is the less grip but lasts longer, the softer the rubber is the more grip it has but the shorter it lasts.

  • @Digitalman271 AND the flatter it is the more surface area is touching the wall thus better grip :D

  • @SyNFuLCreations EXACTLY!! THANK YOU!

  • Ive honestly been using vans when doing parkour :p We work well for me

  • what this man says about the grip on your shoes is not true. the five ten decents have no grip at all on the toe portion of the shoe and they are amazingly good at walls

  • Should I use vans because I'm a begginer

  • Are vans good Ima begginer

  • Is vans good or should I not use them Ima begginer

  • i wear sweaters, and if its warm i wear boxing pants,

i only wear gloves when my hands are already bleeding or are short before..

an shoes..ive got the feiyues(very good) the fiveten freerunnners(excellent grip, but you dont feel the ground like with wushu shoes) the dnrho atlantis(very light),wushu shoes and well some others that i dont wear that often^^

  • Don't wear gloves =_=. i've seen some giant ipe outs caused by gloves.

  • i like sweatpants or basketball shorts, and a tighter shirt.

  • woooooooot 138,793 videos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wat fliping free running gloves shall i use! please repley

  • @aim4shame you could try something like baseball gloves. im no parkour person, but it might work haha

  • board shorts?

  • i tryed using my nikes and vans for runing witch one should i chose???/

  • @cylekicksurass nikes

  • i like to parkour nude. its very lightwieght and offers great feel.

  • @powerfulclown fake n gay!!

  • @MrSupercubefreak a joke bra. haha

  • what about wrestling shoes eh?? very lightweight good grib but expensive

  • Hit "F5" to skip adds.

F5 is the best button on the keyboard when it comes to YouTube =)

  • 0:01 to skip ads

  • @darkside99990 ha, doesnt work anymore

  • @darkside99990 Doesn't work

  • Jika Tabi boots work good for this stuff.

  • Naah the Acics are the best shoes for this, try them..

  • Just asking, r nikes good free running shoes

  • I NEED PARKOUR SHOESSS

  • @poopaste try five.ten freerunners

  • I think the gloves are more for simply getting used to the surface. If you dont know what you are grabbing on to, gloves are nice. But when you know what the surface is taking them off is all good.

Oh and dont forget to get rid of stuff in your pockets, it really helps when empty.

  • @HevekReekel yeah, i'd hate to crush my phone or ipod by rolling on it haha

  • @HevekReekel in my opinon gloves stop you from feeling the enviroment, remember if you want to do parkour for a while you need to let your body become strong and resilent so gloves would just slow that down. Its hard to practice parkour without hurting youself once in a while.

  • thanks i appreciate this vid it help me alot..... i hate pants could i wear shorts instead or should i just keep on wearing pants?

  • @mexicanoshortyano You can use shorts if you want to, but the change you'll injure your legs is bigger.

  • Probably the best alternative to something like a reebok American is something some UK gear.. Say the XC-09

  • lol i use converse and they work fine for me....but thats just me

  • Would a pair of vibram fivefingers work? They have individual pockets for ur toes to go in like a glove and they are good for running and rock climbing and they r better for foot and knee health

  • @chrisman191 those would work the best because there more like your natural feet and allow them to do what they were designed to do

  • @chrisman191 i use vibram fivefingers they work very well u get alot of good grip with them plus they actually let ur foot grip naturaly to the surface ur clinging to also they're great for balance

  • AGH! Thats what i am missing. I need to get grips on the front.. no wonder cat leaps are so hard

  • if you want to see some special shoes that help check out my vids

  • If you use skate shoes and jump over ten feet, you will break your ankles.

  • Hmm, Airwalks are pretty good, and i dont use gloves no more :) My hands will get tough then, i only use gloves after i get blisters!

  • SO do converse's work.?

  • if anyone is looking for some good, light shoes to wear for practicing flips and parkour then i recommend some nike hyperdunks. i know they are basketball shoes, but they lace all the way up the ankle for support, they have great grip, and the shoe is basically all plastic so it weighs literally nothing.

  • I start with Reebook XO fit, then Fila Alpha and now I use Adidas runners, that I think have the best technology. It is my 4th pair by now

  • I'm using Asics they're great... using them for 1 and a half year now.

  • would uk gear military shoes work? they make them in france, germany, britan, and america,so i was thinkin'....

  • @TheMuaythaidragon military shoes wouldnt work unless they have are flexible.

  • great thx i thing a have awesome parkour shoes only more coler my shoes are full black dont like black shoes

  • haha what about chuck taylors? (converse)

  • wat would u say about underarmor shoes? i have a pair and i think they seem much like the pair u r wearing =)

  • He seemed very enthusiastic.

  • are skate shoes ok?

there basic vans. not the stupid slip on shit

  • naw... ive tried vans..epic fail

  • @leelee2246 i use skate vans, they are a bit heavy, but they do work for me. XD but truly i want another shoes...

  • They're alright...

  • well i think skate shoes will work because they r made for hard landings well sum r but i do not think they should be used as a perment means but again they r good on the other hand any kind of sneaker is best

  • for beginers skate shoes are great as they have amazing grip but once you start learing real moves go for a pair of running shoes

  • at big 5 i found some great gloves...their called Head raquitball gloves...kinda expensive at $13-$14 a glove but they have a great grip but also alow you to still feel the wall

  • I had to stop parkour for about two weeks when I scraped my hands pretty badly, lol. And I didn't even have gloves .xD

  • I believe Reebok and Nike are bringing out special shoes just for parkour! Cool!

  • @thehumanperson Dude that'd be awesome :D

  • Yeah Right!/.....=\

  • gloves might be usefull but if yu get a pull-up bar and wrap medical tape around it...the callouses yu get from doing pullups and other hang-from-hands exersises really do help with keeping the feel of the wall and also neturally protecting your hands

  • I find shoes that have grip, but are not too solid like plastic very useful. Plastic tends to lose grip easyer.

  • Cool vid. Thanks.

  • i use glowes... but not the gigant ones :D i mean.. i use gloves only to cover my palm...

  • me too but i heard there bad for later

  • ya but if you trian your palms to support the damage you do to them later on you wont even feel it

  • NO DO NOT USE GLOVES EVERRR

  • i used them starting out than just gradualdy stopped

  • why?

  • what are some good shoes with good cushioning?

  • Nike Darts

  • Air Max 95's? are those ok for parkour becasue i plann on starting this coming spring..

im gettin in better shape and toneing my core atm aswell as upper body strength.

  • yea thanks now i know they were worth buying and the wallruns-amazing i can even do them on my house walls

  • are NIKE AIR MAX good?

  • yes they are very very very good

  • would puma's be good for parkour?

  • skate shoes a hard to do wall runs are anything.

  • what about t90's

  • are nike darts good

  • they are amazing! i have a pair and there amazing =] but make sure to keep them good and out of the rain, u can take them out in the rain but not for to long, it messes up the grip and the meateral it has the rain will wipe it of and ul be left wif just a fluff of cotton maybe aftair 2 years

  • Good tips, but one question, can you have only one glove on the hand you mostly grip on, or is that just useless.

  • isn't that the guy with the amazing basketball shots video...??? xD

  • are running shoes good for parkour ?

  • i totally hate gloves, its best to train without... by training without your hands becomes more like gloves themself, so if you are in a hurry, you dont have to look for the gloves! ;)

  • "Bare feet are the best shoes!" -David Belle

  • man i have total sport shoes thay are great but i have to look for new one!!!!!!!! :D

  • I wear skate shoes..

  • what kind of shoes do you have?? Where could i buy good grippy shoes . i dont care about cushion or rolling my ankle!

  • cleets (without the plastic spikes), thats what i use, and they grip REALLY good

  • go with American eagle the non skid kined they have like 3 diff typs of grip on them at payles is were i got them they work great very light extreamly paded and grip is great they last very very very long

  • i have shaq shoes.. are they good??.. can some one tell me a good Parkour web site were i can buy shoes and necessary stuff.. thank =)

  • well there is no parkour only store sites, but five ten and k swiss have both parkour and freerunning shoes so i would get some off of that. i have the five ten daescents and i liek them a lot

  • i cant run up my mall in my house with my barefeet, does that mean i suck?

  • Nope!

It means you need to watch a wall run tutorial.

One thing most people leave out is that you need to go as horizontal as possible without going fully horizontal.

  • i think any sort of jogging shoe will do fine(i use Nike jogging shoes)

  • i just use some puma shoes that say best for running on the side and they help me alot

  • dont forget those wristbands

  • u can really use any shoe as long as it has grip, but true there are some shoes that would do better.

  • how about dunlop volleys are they good free running/parkour shoes?

  • Yes i would say they are.

The only downfall to them is that the grip wears quite quickly.

  • inov-8 F-Lite™ 305 PK GTX are the best you could ever get. indestupably.

  • i use Adidas Terrex. good shock absorbing, great grip and ventilated.

  • Nike is very good for parkour

  • Hmm... adidas bounce is nice for parkour (originally they're for run, i'm right? But maybe they're nice in parkour?), Bounce:S?

Adidas Traceur? (Yes. I like adidas)

    What about Reebok Yamakasi Low?

  • that was interesting, thanks

  • nike darts

    feiyues

    merrel waterpros

    dunlop volleys

  • Ninja rubber is where you want to be. It will grip anything. Downside is they're like $800 a pair.

  • i do agree but some shoes work better then others so this guy does have a point

  • are airwalk skater shoes good they are very lite and they got grip i just started parkour so im gunna something to help a noob

  • Hey just watch it with skater shoes, the sole is really rigid and might ruin some moves for ya, just a heads up, if it works for you dont mind my post :P

  • addidas superstarz not good

  • Hey, Im just starting out with Parkour, I can't quite get my legs over in vaults and it feels weird when I vault. Will this just go Away with practise? And will sand shoes be alright?

  • that awkward feeling will definitely go away with time i'm starting too and all of the vaults felt a little off

  • I have Jack Wolfskins...are they okay? :/

  • i have the same shoes!!

  • i made my hands bleed to day because i didn't have gloves but i went out to buy some. lol

  • on a skale of 1-10 what would circa cero skate shoes rate for parkour

  • hey from a 1 to 10 scale how would u guys rate adidas megabounce?

  • propply -15

  • and what about pumas

  • yeah im going truro tommorow and i am hoping to get some new shoes for parrkour- mainly to help climbig walls because there is loads of short walls were i live and i have no good shoes at the minute so i can barly climb up them so... any good gripped shoes about that i dont have to order to get, what does the grip have to look like?

  • hey where could i get some smaller size shoes that would work cause i tried the ariakies and they dont have ma size wat kind should i get

  • aside from being a little expensive they should b fine but i'll just tell u what to avoid, u definitely don't want shoes with any plastic or hard wtv at the arch bc u could slid on poles or metal or some ledges also u want shoes with grip but not ones tht have sort of sections on the bottoms bc they'll wear n tear easily

  • do 5.10s work i just got them pretty good just doesnt stick of plastic or metal GREAT!!!!! on concrete i suggest 5.10s but thats just me

  • hes right about the movement and the shirts but it all depends on how you are and what you do you stupid fuggin idiots first no respect is giving to people who where gloves second either freerunning and parkour i like skate shoes people like skate shoes that i know other people prefer there nikes i use crap cheap starters because then i dont where out my normal shoes and were wolf sorcerer is right for him so stop negativing people who r right if u cant do what u do without nice 100!$ shoes F U

  • the "vibram 5 fingers" shoe works exelent if you like going bare-foot but dont like sharp stuff or concrete tearing away your skin
