Actuly Translink is mainly privitly owend and not Government tax revenue oriented. Really the tax payers only pay for a small percent of the construction of lines because they must co-exsist with pre-exsisting B.C. government road, highway, and rail infrustructure that needs movin. Translink is mainly run through profit from ridership and investment this leaving you with hardly an expense. So really if you want to blame someone blame the road infruture built before the Skytrain was planned.
Unless the government comes up with the money without digging into our pockets than fine build it. But if you plan to tax us to pay for it, than shove it up your ass. We already pay for translink in gas prices and hydro bills. And for those of us who don't use it and are paying for it without option, I call bullshit. Riders should pay for it raise ticket prices.
@Beardcore1982 I don't know if you're aware of it but Translink does not just build public transit, it also builds roads and bridges which i'm sure if you're a car user you use. Also to think that roads are not subsidized as public transit is then you're sadly mistaken. We need more projects like this and if it costs another $5 a month per average car user than why not. It's money well spent!
