  • Drivers like that piss me off, Id of knocked his mirror off for tryng to run you off the road.

  • I don't get it!!! I drive a car. I always look out for bike riders and motorbike riders. I give both heaps of room. If I have to I will change lanes. What is the problem with this world??? People are getting dumber by the day......

  • @Svendogga Motorbike riders are different. They can keep up with the speed limit, cyclists can't.

  • @SteelCityDucati The speed limit is not for "keeping up with" it is the speed "limit" not the speed "target" like the alcohol limit, it is not something to aim for. Other than getting that wrong, I am not sure what your point is.

Interesting that your reply was to a comment made five days earlier about people getting dumber every day :-)

  • I think it's sad that people are arguing over footage that occurred 2 years ago. Glad you're still alive and cycling around.

  • @huhhman Do you have any understanding of how you came to have this ridiculous opinion? I was just wondering if it was due to poor schooling or if you couldn't work it out even with the best schooling available. Fortunately people like you are in the minority.

Why should I buy a car when my employer gives me one?

You really have no idea do you, I find your situation very sad.

  • @huhhman You do not "drive" a bike you "ride" a bike.

Cyclist feel the need to use cameras because there are a few drivers that behave badly, and it is just a few, not everyone feels cyclists are in the way, most competent drivers can cope with cyclists on the road.

What I said could be seen by some as an insult, but I honestly do not believe it was an insult to your particular level of intelligence.

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant look up the definition of drive...There are crappy cyclists out there too ya know. Love how you just lost it when the car tapped your bike, is that how you react all the time? Just swear at him/her, bet you even flipped them off. You did insult me, so again, go fuck yourself.

  • @huhhman What are you going on about, I am aware that they are "crappy" cyclists and "crappy" motorists. You have mental issues if you find humour in a cyclist getting annoyed at almost getting knocked off. I only react like that if someone endangers me, where as you swear at people after watching a YouTube video!

Trust me, I did not insult you, the more you write, the more sure I am of this.

  • @huhhman Or is the one who feels the need to make such a comment the sad one? The only people in my way when I'm driving are other cars. The more people on bikes the fewer cars in the way.

  • @alexwarrior1 cyclists are always in the way....

  • @huhhman You're such a loser. Open your eyes, mate, before you get into a debate you lost before you began.

  • @strippzy lol....debate what? you're an idiot...

  • Time to take older folks licenses away when they prove ill confident to react I see this too often. I also think driver's licenses for younger people should be delayed until 18 yrs of age.

  • if that had been me, i would have unclipped and cleated his door panel !

  • @gavtatu Very tempting but then I wouldn't have been able to give the video to the Police and get him charged

  • @DiamondPilotDan Here's another thought, most Countries recognise that bikes belong on the road (well they were there first!) and another thought, cycles (bikes) are inanimate objects so can't be stupid, cycles, of inbreeding (as a way of life), like what you are suffering from are stupid, and should be stopped (don't ask uncle daddy, asking someone with less fingers than you have would be a good start)

  • @DiamondPilotDan LOL I suggest you go back to school and retake your history! Roads were built for BIKES

  • @Fuzz944 The roads are for cars bikes can use the road if they stay to the side a don't take up the hole lane.

  • @Binboy97 Is that from the New Zealand Road Code, or the Bin Man's Hand Book?

  • @Binboy97

    Ignorance is bliss isnt it?

Please just think abotu what will happen if you stick to the side... Just think about it.

If you still dont see any dangers then you should not be on the roads at all, especially not in a car.

Doors opening up by idiots who dont look, cyclists having to go in and out of the lane because cars are parked, often in a cycle lane, people stepping out on you, the list goes on.

If you still dont see why, then you are a failure at thinking

  • @Binboy97 You really need to go back to driving school. Bikes belong on the road. It is often unsafe to stay to the side, safer to take the lane. Sadly, USA roads are ill funded and do not always have proper or safe bike lanes too.

  • @DiamondPilotDan DiamondPilotDan has made a comment on Old Man Hits Cyclist EMC495:

here's a thought! get your stupid cycle out of the road that was built for cars

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant

The roads were NOT built for cars you fool.

That level of ignorance needs to be mocked, so please go to school.

Roads were actually originally built for bikes and carts.

  • @FatRakoon You need to direct that one at DiamondPilotDan

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant

I realised I messed up but hid away like a pussy.

  • @FatRakoon hahahaha brilliant :-)

  • @FatRakoon i would say roads were built for roman soldiers to march along !

  • @gavtatu

    You would?

ok, if you are going to be THAT shirty, you are still wrong.

It was the Mesopatamians. The Romans certainly made roads famous though.

  • @FatRakoon ooooohhhhhhhhh.........!!!! *holds up handbag à la `vic reeves`*

  • @gavtatu

Slaps face with fish à la Monty Python!

But seriously, sure the Romans made road networks like no other but they were not the first.

Road were, for centuries, simple stones and even up until fairly recently, most roads in the UK were still cobbled and rough.

This was fine for the horse and cart but they were useless to the pushbike and there was a demand for a smooth surface and so the government opted for tarmac roads as invelted by the scottish guy John macadam.

  • @gavtatu The Romans didn't come to New Zealand :-)

Anyway the point about roads being made for cyclists, was that they demanded smooth (sealed) surfaces to ride on, which is when we started getting roads as we know them today

  • stupid cyclist. i hate you and your cyclefrends. fuck you.

  • @cowboybjorn I'm hurt, I really look up to you, I feel crushed

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant Me too, as I'm one of your "cyclefrends".

PS: your comment made me laugh! :-D

  • old people these days

  • Comment removed

  • Oblivious old coot!!!!!!

  • Did you say " fucking gremlin" lmfaoooo

  • @Mrhofer1994 I guess he could always claim he didn't see me or my 140 lumen rear light, now upgraded to 240 lumens but it seems like drivers still can't see me, next step is 500 lumens hopefully early next year :-)

  • You put yourself in a dangerous position. Your response did not solve the problem, if anything it antagonized the situation. Should have instead stopped him and proceeded to find out his problem and find out why he was a silly bastard

  • Have a bit of respect. Yes he ACCIDENTLY hit you but there is no need to swear at the man. He is an old bloke, cut him a bit of slack.

  • @midfielderlegend he changed direction to hit me, no accident! then moved back into the right hand lane to take the 2nd right turn to his home address

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant in America bikes are considered vehicles so you CAN ride on the streets i got pulled over by a cop on my bike the other day because it was night time and i didn't have any lights on me

  • @Scottde420 Same here, only cycling on the footpath is only allowed for small children, anyone else can be ticketed for cycling on the footpath, lights are compulsory at night (I always use them even in daylight, a DiNotte 140R in this case), and you can also be ticketed for not wearing a helmet (this caused, a massive drop in cycling, and motorists to give less clearance to the now "protected" cyclists!)

  • @midfielderlegend age doesn't matter if he's driving a 2 tone car. Either way he needs to drive safely and he was to close.

  • @midfielderlegend

You'd surprise yourself with the language that comes out of your own mouth when some goon hits you with a ton of steel.

  • @midfielderlegend how do you know it was an accident? and the worst thing you could ever do is cut soembody slack when driving becuase of their age. ahh dont worry mate your 70 and you just killed that person...dont worry ill cut you some slack. yeah right.

  • @Mathewmartialart How do you know it was on purpose!!! I wasnt talking about cutting him some slack about the incident I was talking about the language used!

  • @midfielderlegend hey if somebody i geel is about to cause harm to me, you ney ill be saying the same thing to that person no matter what their age is

  • @Mathewmartialart

In the UK, the emergency services used to say RTA ( Road Traffic Accident )

They now use RTC ( Collision )

This is mostly because an Accident means just that... An accident. And therefore many peopel were able to get away with the insurance claims, while Collision is a more neutral position.

  • @FatRakoon im confused, why have you said this to me. im also in the uk by the way

  • @Mathewmartialart

Because I agreed with you on a point you made to mifielderlegend where you stated "How do you know it was an accident" and basing it on your talks with him, I was merely pointing this one out.

Im seem to be going mental right now cos this is the second time I have posted on this very thread when I didnt really need to.

  • @midfielderlegend cut him a bit of slack? what if the cyclist went under his wheels and ended up with two broken legs? should we still cut him some slack? and i dont think you can class the stupid old cunts inability to drive as an 'accident' when he hits someone. old people should get off the road after a certain age, like we all have to wait till were a certain age to drive. they are fucking dangerous

  • @benhoshinji I have nothing to say to you! using disgusting language like that normally means you have only one brain cell.

  • @midfielderlegend not answering questions which are directed at you normally means your a greasy low life cock sucker who doesnt think about the stupid shit they say when they open their mouth. cut him some slack, you fucking inbred. i would love to see you get hit by a car.

  • @benhoshinji HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Another person who is only a big man on youtube. They do make me laugh.

  • @midfielderlegend HAHAHAH!! Another person that can't justify their comments and would instead prefer to maintain the illusion that they are somehow above other posters because of the words they're using. If you can't even back a simple comment up, you're in no position to be insulting anyone else's intelligence.

  • @0snakebite What are you on about....What long words? If you think I have used some longs words then your either your as stupid as the rest of them or you cant think of anything intelligent to say. Which one??

  • @midfielderlegend Did I say long (or even 'longs') words? No, I said the words you were using. Meaning that you consider yourself above people because they are using words you're not (fuck, shit, etc). If you answered people's comments instead of just saying their language implies they have just 1 brain cell, maybe your argument would have a bit more integrity. Until then, you can keep whining about swear words on youtube. Like anyone gives a shit.

  • @midfielderlegend I'm with you on that one.

  • why undertake the car?

  • @diff22000 Why not? Undertaking is allowed in NZ even for motorists, and filtering is allowed in every Country (as far as I know) The main reason was that the old man didn't complete the pass before slowing, and cut in when he shouldn't , which is why he was charged!

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant

I would say because it put you in a dangerous position and it relies on him giving you room (which he did not). Hanging back until a better opportunity opened up would have been much safer.

  • @diff22000 I really don't like encouraging aggressive shits to treat cyclist like they are nothing by dropping back (and into the path of another car) every time someone cuts me up, the driver had every chance to give me safe clearance but chose not to, the following cars may have done exactly the same as he did for all I knew. I see you ride a motorbike so you will be well aware of how larger vehicle try to push you around. Now think "NZ drivers" with twice the UK road death rate

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant

Hi, yep I know exactly what you mean as I do indeed ride a motorcycle. What I am saying is it may have been avoidable by hanging back and letting him go instead of undertaking and putting yourself at risk from an incompetent driver. I am on your side here, I guess I am saying sometimes progress should be second to safety.

  • @diff22000 Probably more to do with red mist than judgement. The shit I have to put up with in NZ is insane, I am from the UK were the drivers are far from ideal, but #uck me these drivers really know how to put you in danger, and how to push cyclist out of the way, at times I see red and retake my place. Not always the best thing to do, but you can't just take their shit all the time

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant

I know exactly what you mean, trouble is we are the ones getting hurt and they just carry on blindly. Ride safe mate :0)

  • u should kick his ass

  • Get on the side walk dumb ass.

  • @everythingfive It is illegal you Muppet, side WALK or FOOT path is anything getting through??

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant The law needs to change, the sidewalk is the safe place for your kind out of our way.

  • @RidX4Ricers Cycling on the footpath was banned here (I'm told about 15 years ago) because even more cyclists were being hit, see "Cycle on the footpath? No thanks!" for an idea of how drivers behave even though children are still allowed to cycle on the footpath. I see a lot of this but I don't catch much usable footage

  • The car first passes with ample space, but then the cyclist passes the car with very little space. By doing so, the cyclist is (unintentionally) communicating to the driver that this is how much space he is comfortable with. Car passes again, this time much closer, and a minor bump is the result.

Don't get me wrong, driver is still at fault, but the cyclist sent a dangerous message by passing the car so close.

  • @psteverific So.... the cyclist sent a message that this level of clearance was ok, so in turn the driver wondered if he could actually hit the cyclist and that would also be ok.

He was charged and got points on he licence, for pulling into a lane when there was not a safe space to do so (unsafe lane change) he was not charged for hitting me! You need to rethink your idea of safe clearance before you also get charged

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant I didn't say that. However, passing a car closer than you would be comfortable being passed sends a dangerous message.

My idea of safe clearance is fine, that's why over 25 years of cycle commuting I had very few close calls. A quick glance at your profile tells me you cannot say the same.

We may disagree on a few fine points, but this doesn't have to be a pissing match... we both want the same thing, after all: safe and efficient streets for all road users.

  • @psteverific The red mist descended after the old guy cut in, I hate to let rude behaviour pay off, maybe I could have stayed behind, but this is NZ, so if I did that every time someone cut me up I would get nowhere!

I had very liitle trouble cycling too, till I moved to NZ

I understand what you are saying about the clearance, but that was not the cause, trust me!

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant Well, I certainly can't say what the cause of that was while sitting in front of my laptop! You were there, I wasn't.

And I know the 'red mist' all too well. I know it's wrong, but often my temper gets the better of me. Especially in the years since I've switched from the bicycle to motorbikes; between the power to catch up/get away swiftly and the intimidation factor, it's a whole lot easier to give an inattentive driver the business.

    It's wrong, I know.

  • The car driver should have given you more room when he came past the 2nd time, Not a problem with undertaking on a push bike it seemed to be well justified. What im worried about is why at the very end of the clip did you go around that car trying to park, If he didnt see you when he moves his front end will come out and you would have been over his bonnet. You were destracted after being hit ofcourse but you should have let him park or atleast make sure hes seen you and stopped before moving on

  • @kal9001 I must confess, all forward planning seemed to go out the window after the driver hit me and the red mist descended! I have learnt from this (I like to think)

  • @kal9001 I must confess, all forward planning seemed to go out the window after the driver hit me and the red mist descended! I have learnt from this (I like to think)

  • Cyclists are far more vulnerable. Only someone with real pathological issues woulnd't take care when around cyclists.

  • Comment removed

  • @rederic2004 What, I thought I was very nice to him to say he just rammed me, I didn't feel any shame, but I hope his family do!

  • Comment removed

  • @rederic2004 There is no such thing as defensive cycling in New Zealand, a cyclist on the road is seen by many as an inferior road user that needs putting its place, In my opinion a rude wake up like this makes these idiots more aware that, yes, push me too far and it may be the last thing he does, you can’t reason with this scum. Fear may be the only weapon. Respect is for drivers that don’t disrespect me.

  • @rederic2004 It's called an instinctive reaction to nearly getting killed by an idiot driver.

  • Comment removed

  • @rederic2004 Maybe you just don't have the same respect for your own well being as I do for mine, you probably have your own reasons for thinking you are worthless, probably best not to air them here though. Hope they can be overcome. All the best.

  • he's old.

  • dude, in what universe is a bike gonna squeeze a car outa its lane? its your fault for undertaking!

  • @iaevilmonkey Whatever, the old fart was taken to court and got points and a fine. If you don't understand maybe you should book yourself a few lessons, or stop commenting on things you don’t understand, you are just wasting people’s time, and change the age in your profile, it is very misleading!

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant thats just an example of the american legal system, it doesnt work, its like a burgular falling on a nife in a house hes about to rob. he gets compensation in usa, in england you batter the crap outa.

i bet you feel like a big man, taking an oap to court and draining him of what money he has left.

a few lessons with what exactly? how to be a douche, cant i get the master class from you?

  • @iaevilmonkey It took you a week to come up with that! really! just give up!

  • @iaevilmonkey undertaking ? , are you blind ? the car camed from behind and overtooked him too close :|

  • @TheDanu7 0:00 car overtaken cyclist

    0:07 cyclist undertakes car

0:36 cyclist undertakes car - while a parked bus is about to stop the cyclist

    0:45 car overtaken cyclist

pause @ 0:44 drain cover, standard size 1 ft,

4 drain covers will fit, 4 foot of room for the cyclist, center of camera 2-3 foot into the car drivers lane

0:47 cyclist speeds up and undertakes car in effort to manoeuvre around the car trying to reverse into a space.

  • @iaevilmonkey and all started becouse of the car

  • Sorry, don't wanna be "that guy" but there's a perfectly good sidewalk on the left.

  • @SaintDapiea Which is perfectly illegal to ride a bike on in New Zealand!

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant What a joke.

  • @SaintDapiea What did you think sideWALKs were for? :-)

  • So if, driving my car I drove past one of the posters here and hit their car slightly - you guys would have no issue with that? The Camry driver hit the cyclist as he tried to pass and deserved to be booked. If the Camry was trying to keep the cyclist from going back past, he should have pulled ahead a few car lengths, taken the lane and left no room for the cyclist to come back past. Just as a rider could move towards the centre of the lane and force a car to change lanes to make a safe pass.

  • Seriously? You took someone to court over THIS?

The courts have better things to do than deal with trivial bullshit like this.

  • @ExoticSpotting No, not me, the Police saw that it was in the Public interest to press charges against the driver for driving like an idiot! I'm shocked you didn't pick up on his behaviour it is very easy to see :-) He got 35 points (allowance is 100 then bye bye licence)

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant You want the state to take a mans license away because he couldn't see you?

When I prepare to turn, I check for other vehicles on the road. If I don't see your bike, tough shit. You should be using something more visible to commute.

I've put hundreds of miles on my bike on public roads. You know where I ride? THE SHOULDER. The lanes are for cars.

  • @ExoticSpotting Yes! Do you really think he didn’t see me? I was wearing a bright Yellow top and had a DiNotte 140R rear light on (as bright as a car brake light) he the accelerated, changed direction for some reason and hit me. If he didn’t see me he was not fit to drive. If he did, then it is much worse. He has a responsibility to look where he is going.

If you don't see me and hit me it is dangerous driving, take some lessons, learn to drive safely, keep your licence (or get one!)

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant I drive safely. The problem is the cyclists zipping around in traffic. Driving has been pretty much the same since the Model T. Cyclists add a whole new dimension of danger.

Expecting motorists to yield to people who often ignore traffic law is naive.

Do a YouTube search for 'Critical Mass'. You people aren't making many friends.

I say this as someone who has come about seven inches from being taken out by a fully loaded logging truck in the middle of nowhere.

  • @ExoticSpotting What! You drive safely? I will quote you, "When I prepare to turn, I check for other vehicles on the road. If I don't see your bike, tough shit" that doesn't sound like a safe attitude to me

Driving has changed a lot since the model T cars have got much wider, there are even dicks driving off road vehicles on the road, bikes have always been on the roads since before the model T so cars are the added risk

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant 'so cars are the added risk'

If it wasn't for automobiles the road systems that we have today wouldn't exist.

Bicycles are fun and are a great form of exercise, but they aren't a competitive form of transportation. If you're trying to save money or be 'green' take a bus.

You know all those PSA's to look out for motorcycles? If a motorcycle isn't visible enough to be safe on the streets, how on earth do you expect people to see your bike?

  • Having a bicycle in a car lane is like having a horse and buggy in a subway tunnel. They just aren't compatible.

  • @ExoticSpotting How ever do you cope when you see a Truck, Bus, Tram, Heavy Goods Vehicle in "your" "car lane" have you ever took a step back and wondered if it is you that is incompatible with the roads as most drivers manage quite well with every vehicle they come across.

Also, try not to think of me as just a cyclist, I drive to work 5 days a week, and cope with the different vehicles I come across - see my carboundcyclist channel if you still doubt that I drive.

  • @ExoticSpotting But we would still have a road system wouldn’t we as we had one before cars and if cars disappeared we would still need one!

Yes bikes are great fun and excellent for health. I have a work colleague who finds cycling to work cheaper and much faster than the bus (by well over an hour)

  • @ExoticSpotting PSA are the PC way of telling incompetent and rude drivers how they should behave. I do not have a problem with being seen, ever! The problem is drivers seeing me an having what they see as “fun” see my latest video watch?v=IdXqpndO2w0 as than example

  • @ExoticSpotting I always obey the law, and expect others to do the same, thinking all cyclists ignore the law is naive just because motorists are constantly shown causing crashes, speeding, driving drunk and stoned I do not think all motorists do, but I guess you do as this follows your train of thought. Naturally this does not include you because you drive safely don’t you!

  • @ExoticSpotting What has critical mass got to do with me, I have never done that. Why not search drunk driver, idiot driver, dangerous driver – need I go on?

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant "He has a responsibility to look where he is going."

there's the crux, eh? ..for some reason a lot of folk seem to treat their forays in public interaction as nap time.

  • i wish they would just make riding your fucking bike on anything other than a BIKE path - go figure - illegal....you fucking guys act like you own the road...the guy was hugging the right side of the lane the entire time you were just looking for an excuse to get fucking pissy....i hope your t boned by a fucking double stacked uk bus....wanka!!!!

  • @Damico07 We do own the road, didn't you know? All road users other than motorist are allowed to use the roads freely, motorist however do not have the right to use the roads freely because of the dangers and damage they cause, that is why motorists have to pay to use them and hold a licence to prove they can drive and to control their behaviour by giving points for driving dangerously if they don't behave, just like the driver in this video did! I don't see many UK buses in New Zealand, fool!

  • cyclist suck big time

  • @MANOSRX7 I am so hurt, especially from some one with a love of wankel engine's hahahahaha

  • It was just an honest mistake, no harm done really.. You're just a really fucking angry, self-righteous person, aren't you?

  • @wootness3000 Whatever mate the Police saw it my way and gave him a ticket! :-)

  • @wootness3000 Honest mistake or not, it was still dangerous. If you knock someone off a bike and kill them then using the 'honest mistake' line won't really wash in court.

  • @exsandgrounder and didn't wash in Court :-)

  • In Australia you're asking for trouble if you take the lane too. Every single situation you have to evaluate in real time to decide the safest thing to do. It's extremely difficult :(

  • @waynohh I can believe that! There is a lot of talk about how dangerous Australia's roads are by international standards. They are close to being as bad as NZ's roads. However Australia's road toll is actually held up as an example to NZer'r of a standard we should aim for, I know, it is ridiculous but it's just how things get when the Police are some ineffective.

  • Nice work getting him the ticket. makes me want to install a video camera too. Next time though, you should take the lane to avoid these situations, especially if the cars are only going a little faster than you.

  • @adamtki It is pretty rare for me to take the lane in NZ, I was happier doing it in the UK, but here it is asking for trouble, I have learnt what is safest here over time. It is normal for cyclist to be swerved at and have things thrown at them (Henderson Police "lost" one complaint about a driver I got to admit it!) I tried a wider line in Sundays ride for about 1km till the "0800 PLUMBER" pass which was the NZ way of saying get in the gutter!

  • sorry but nz stands for? Also if he dosen't have enough space/time to complete the manouver he should not attempt it.

  • @jacmar44 NZ = New Zealand. Yea, if you can't complete a manouver safely then don't start it. Even more so if like this driver you need the right hand lane to get home and you only changed lanes to buzz the cyclist before returning to the right hand lane!

  • Mistakes by both of you, next time don't undertake (legal or not) on his blind spot.

  • @Genoxide85 If I braked everything an idiot pulled in front of me leaving me no stopping distance I would be faster walking, in NZ you can overtake on the left even in a car so drivers should be prepared. I was not in his blind spot when he sped up and changed direction to hit me!

  • soo you undertake the car (which is against the road code), then you leave the scene of an accident without checking for damage/injuries.....you are a fucken muppet, and by the look of your videos you inflame the situations and put yourself in silly positions just to get some "sweet footage" to waste police time with, perhaps if you were a perfect road user that never broke a road rule I could take you seriously but clearly you are not, soooo.......to re-cap....you are a fucken muppet!!

  • @legnumboy Have you really got such a poor understanding of the road code? If what you say is true how could it be possible that the driver was charged, and then the driver pleaded guilty? Do you even have a driving licence? legnumBOY grow up!

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant The "Person" legnumboy, is an obvious moron. Bicycles have the right to overtake on the left.

  • @KrunchyJD There is a lot of it about in NZ, it seems like hating cyclist is the national sport, they even allow the Police to participate in work time.

  • @legnumboy I dont think you know anything about the law, as bicycles have the right to overtake on the left. If they dont, my advice to all cyclists is to take up the whole lane, since cars are often slower. You cant have it both ways either you can overtake cyclists in the same lane or you cant. If you can, then they are entitled to overtake you in the same lane. Grow a brain, and stop talking crap.

  • @KrunchyJD bicycles might have the right to overtake on the left, but still it is not the most clever thing to do. This incident would have easily been avoided if the cyclist would have stayed behind

  • @px712uf Or the driver could have stayed out of an occupied lane and saved himself all the wasted time he spent trying to save face trying not to get a fine or points on his licence for driving without taking due care :-) by the way, he still got a fine and points hahaha

  • @px712uf What rot. As I said if cyclists cant overtake cars on the left then cars should not overtake cyclists in the same lane, period!

If cyclists could not overtake cars on the left they would have to cross a line of traffic to overtake, or take up the whole lane, so that they could overtake on the right. You cant have it both ways!

  • You're a knob gobbler mate. Stay in the cycle lane and when you have to pull out into the cars lane give way to them you stupid c@#t. What a phucken idiot you are!

  • @flashpoint82 Are you serious? You spend your time washing and videoing trucks! What do you do in your spare time, tongue old men’s arse holes? You freak!

  • Result! Better than the nothing which usually happens (here in the UK at least)

  • @specallez I had to shop around! I tried a few Police Stations before I found a good one, I would advise trying the same, I’m not saying you will find a good one, but if you do it will make reporting dangerous drivers a lot less depressing. I wasted a lot of time and effort going to the wrong Police Station (Henderson) they actively discouraged complaints! Makes you wonder if they get a bonus for keeping complaints down.

Hope you can find a good one too!

  • @specallez Shit, wrong login again, it is still me though! :-) AKA TheVexationLitigant

  • I hope you're pleased with the court result. It's not brilliant, but it's something eh?

  • @maliknant Yea, reasonably happy

  • What a fucking muppet - my friend had this happen to him and he didn't take it as lightly as you. I get really annoyed when people just think you are invisible. Drivers just don't have any consideration. If we go on the pavement they're happy, but then pedestrians are unhappy. We go onto the road, pedestrians are happy but drivers are not. I'm surprised there hasn't bring something major done about it!

  • @limboy1 Knowing that this deliberately dangerous behaviour is only seen as careless and that threatening my wellbeing is only worth 35 demerit points is infuriating and may provoke a more retaliatory reaction next time some piece of shit threatens me. Aren't number plates cool, a little time, and a little money and you have an address :-)

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant They're great aye, got this information:

    2006 Toyota Camry

    2,362cc

    Licence expires: March 9th 2001

    WoF expires in 3 months

    Current odometer reading (estimate): 89,218km

Fuck if only I had the address I would go round to his house and key his "precious Camry"!

    =)

  • @limboy1 It would be wrong to say I have all that and more, so I wont say it :-)

  • @limboy1 sidewalk/street... ride on both and fuck em all.

  • Looks like you need a flare gun through the window for some of those Auckland drivers. Dopey bastards!

  • @nighthawk006phoenix It's not in the video, but I take the next left, and the old fart moves back into the right-hand lane, this convinced me his actions were intentional. hmmm, flare gun, I like it, his window was down a little too, that would have been awesome :-)

  • Good news that the police are taking it seriously enough to charge the driver.

And well done for keeping control of the bike and not putting his wing-mirror where it is unlikely to experience solar illumination.

  • @Camsplint It is good that the Police are pressing charges though it's frustrating that they won't press charges on drivers that drives dangerously close at high speed unless they hit you, guess that's why I've never seen a Cop on a bike in NZ.

The camera has a very calming effect on my reactions as I have some hope of charges being laid, and the last thing I need is a video of me stamping on a pensioners head :-) or inserting a wing mirror!

  • Is that Auckland city centre? Down by the ferry port....you've cycled a fair way haven't you from your usual area in the vids?

Lucky you didn't end up on the floor there, after that.

  • @MelloVEL0 Yes that's Auckland City centre, I try to cycle out there at the weekend, it's about 80km round trip, which I'm still finding hard as I'm not very fit cause I keep quitting due to a number of Muppets in Auckland. Hoping to get a camera mount sorted for my road bike cause the MTB is killing me, I get too wound up if I can't show the Police a video when someone tries to kill me, so I wont use it till I've got it sorted.

  • Oh wow, that is special. Amazing how you caught the thud of it and you can clearly see the change in angle of the mirror.
