How the hell can anyone think of something like this is beyond me. Wall-e is by far the best animated film and one of the best films in global I've ever watched.
@sargentsolar you tell that to the world, we use nuclear power because it produces a lot of power without producing a lot of pollution, and solar power and electric cars are very expensive and people during this economy will not spend money. i agree that solar power is a better source of energy but whos gonna change. my point is nuclear power is a good source of power without to many cons
@sargentsolar i know what happened in chernobyl and the reason why the reactor exploded because it wasn't well maintained. what the point is nuclear power produces power without polluting the land and atmosphere, now thats sounds clean to me. the only thing nuclear power produces is steam, and i hope you know what steam is. go to university before you make stupid assumptions
I remember seeing this in theaters. A friend of mine dragged me in to see it and I was prepared to hate this movie. This opening started and I knew that I would be going to love it. It's one of my favorite movies now. The way it starts, the music, the imagery it's so strong and mind blowing I couldn't believe it when I first saw it.
I'm in the pit orchestra playing trumpet for the play "Hello, Dolly!" and flipped when I realized that the pits favorite song( Put On Your Sunday Clothes) was the opening to this... the original song from the actual play sounds alot better than the movies arrangement( the Hello, Dolly! Movie) But still simply amazing. Pixar, you made my day!!!!
This is very true to what could possibly happen to us but I doubt the government is going to let a monopoly like BuyNLarge exist and the amount of trash in NYC? Yea that's sort of possible unless NYC is the new world dump site. I can see where I live from the space view and it's not a pretty sight.
Pixar has always made great animation films. But this, without a doubt, tops all of their own film, and most other films. It restores faith in the animation films. It captures the magic and wonder as past Disney films, which is something I have not seen in most modern animation films.
I don't know if you guys have played Fallout 3, but right before it starts zooming in onto earth, it reminds me of you looking down to earth on Mothership Zeta, a Add-On for Fallout 3.
2day my mom wanted me 2 c hello dolly and so i watched it with her and when they started singin this song i waz like "OMG I KNOW THIS FROM SOMEWHERE!!! HOW DO I KNOW IT???.......................OMG ITS FROM WALL-E!!!!" hahah and my mom laughed at me (: i love this
I was absolutely enthralled with this opening. So intriguing. I'm not sure what it is, it's just.. perfect. Something about the combination of the stars and planets and Cornelius singing 'Out There' at the same time.
'It Only Takes a Moment' at the end of the movie only made me cry even harder than I was. I was crying for Eve because he didn't remember, but the melody just had a bittersweet feel to it. I was happy AND sad.
Oh my gosh, I love this movie. Can't live without it. ♥
@alycianicole3 its a good contras thats what makes it a such a good opening. its starts off showing the beauty of the stars and out solar system and the if shows what humans did to earth full of pollution and a very unpleasant place
For both Wall-E and Up, the first 10 minutes have been AMAZING! This opening scene in Wall-E with the Hello, Dolly song was fantastic viewed on the large screen.
My children & I love this intro on Wall E. As soon as the film begins we sit and sing this song. The irony works so well with the song as a tribute to NYC - which then becomes a huge dump of consumerism.

wind turbines, nuclear power plant, kinda ironic they are actually clean power but its showing a polluted world.

@clipmaster30001 lol although you're right, but it's the trash buildup, more litering, no recycling, just a bunch of trash and filth.
