@Dukesfan1980 Chet passed away 30 June 01; the album "Neck And Neck" that this track is from, was released in 1990. You are most definitely seeing and hearing Chet Atkins. If you appreciate great musicianship, get the album- you'll love it.

@mrams0911 Chet Atkins was always serene, and made it look easy, even when playing Yankee Doodle-Dixie at the same time. I got to see him live in 1969 at the college I went to. Afterwards went back stage and visited with him a few minutes. ( you could actually do that . no security.) He was as laid back then as in this video. Just had a little more hair then. He appeared that night with Floyd Cramer, and Boots Randolph. At that time, they were all the best at what they did.

How much better than, say, some rock guitarists who spurt out a flurry of disjointed notes and call it music...Knopfler and Atkins together...now that is a class...and they are having fun at the same time.

It is called a pedal steel guitar. It is played horizontally across one's lap with a pick in one hand and a medal bar in the other. In moving the bar across the strings, it changes their pitch, giving them a modulated, vibrato laden tone. They are used a great deal in American Country music.

I heard that Mark was responsible for the video. Until you watch it 8 or 10 times , you'll see something new each time. The baby goes from being alive, to a doll, then back to being alive. Is the girl actually tall, and the guy short ? The last 5 seconds of the video give you the best clue. Look at the heels she has on.
